Questions & Answers

Q: Do you have to be from KY? I assume you bring your own gun? Do you buy their ammo?

A: It is a public range, you put 3 dollars per vehicle in a drop box at the entrance. There is nobody that works that works there. Dirt embankment to shoot into, chicken wire to clip targets to. Probability should bring cardboard to attach your targets to. Have fun.

A: 1. Nope! I still have Maryland tags on my car. 2. Yes. It's not an indoor range where you can rent guns. BYOG&A (Bring Your Own Guns and Ammos) 3. Lol, what?

Keno is the best rifle range around Lake Cumberland, KY area. The pistol lanes are good but can be muddy after the rain and snow. Very well kept and cleaned once a week. Just remember to pickup your own targets and trash. Entry is $5 a day and you pay at the box on your way down range road. No one really checks. ItΓÇÖs an honor system. Do the right thing! It pays for the range to be rebuilt annually and reset weekly. Great overall range!

Although tiny and out of the way, it was sufficient.

Range was clean, well maintained, 5 bucks to get in, pay envelope at front, on the honor system, all shooters were safe and respectful, we had the kids out shooting .22 on the mid range, everyone was patient despite us having very slow shooters with us.

UPDATE: I went back the next day and the posts had already been replaced. I shot for an hour or so by myself and it was awesome. ORIGINAL: It might be ok if it wasn't so trashy and partially destroyed. There are 100's of casings and leftover targets everywhere. In the short range area, someone shot up the wooden poles that held up the wiring where you could hang your targets, so the only options are longer range which is not what I needed. If I was the only one there I would have just walked closer to the 10ish yard target area, but there were 2 people using the 50 yard one so I couldn't safely do that. The toilet is basically an outhouse and so gross. The pictures posted in other reviews make it look a lot nicer than it is.

My only recommendation is to bring your own target stands. This place is perfect with a day pass, 7 day pass, or annual membership, it's a great spot for everyone. We take our kids, everyone is always respectful of other when going down range and of others property

Great place to go to sharpen your aim, practice or sight in your new guns. It's in the Daniel Boone National Forest and a beautiful place to just set and listen to the crack of gun fire. This screams Freedom. Oh yeah and it's free so take good care of this treasure.

Pretty awesome range. Went with my papaw for his birthday. It would be nice to have a large broom there to sweep up after for not only being courteous to other shooters, but the people who maintain the area as well. It's the least we could do
