What a facility!!! The grounds are clean and the ranges are perfect. The instructors are highly knowledgeable on long range precision and very helpful. If I lived closer I would be there every weekend.

I just completed the 4 day comprehensive precision shooting class and it was incredible. I came in with no formal training and no real time on the gun. I was excited, nervous, and intimidated. The first day in class Shannon and his team set my mind at ease. It was clear from the get go these guys were humble and there to help get us to where we wanted to be. I started out struggling a bit on the line. All the instructors were there to help and teach through the issues, with patience. When you are struggling and frustrated itΓÇÖs easy to lose focus, but they knew how to calm me down and get me back on track. On day two Brandon Hembree (instructor) noticed I was struggling again. He came over and watched me and quickly found the issue. From that point on I was shooting decent but had many fundamentals to focus on. Shannon and KevinΓÇÖs experience running these classes were very evident. They had a great balance of having high expectations yet supportive and understanding when battling through mental errors. Dillon was also incredible helping us work through bad tendencies and mental errors. The class work and shooting the first two days were well balanced. The final two days were all shooting and they ramped up the drills and expectations quickly. The structure was perfect. By day three they knew our tendencies and where we needed the work. They also knew our skill level and instead of every person doing the same thing across the board, they increased the difficulty for those who were shooting better, and kept the normal difficulty for others. Throughout these days it was crazy to see how much work these guys put into this class. They arenΓÇÖt just running it off a script, they truly watch, make adjustments, push us, and support us. While we had little breaks these guys were hustling setting up the next course. The facility is truly second to none. The courses they have are incredible and they are all a 30 second ride away. They also have a nice pro shop. I got some advice from Shannon on what scope he recommended, because I wanted to upgrade. He walked me through the ones he had, gave me his input and what he felt was the best bang for my buck. Kevin also helped as well. They never once tried to push into a sale or talked me into buying anything. I purchased the newest scope they had and these guys had it installed and ready to go the next morning. They also installed a new trigger for me. IΓÇÖm telling you, this is the best precision class, range and instructors in the nation. By the end of day 4 I was a new shooter. I felt far more confident in my shots and fundamentals. I still a ton of work to do but theyΓÇÖve given me the confidence and a plan on what to train moving forward. If you are new at precision shooting and considering taking a class, do not hesitate! If you want to learn, get pushed, have some fun and get better, this is the place to do it!! I hope this review, yet long, gives you the confidence to get out there, you will leave much better and youΓÇÖll definitely have ΓÇ£the bugΓÇ¥ -Steve L

IΓÇÖve had training both in and out of the service, and like many others, I came in with high expectations. Most people looking at this school are seeking advanced trainingΓÇöwhether for competition, PRS, hunting, or another demanding field. That being said, this is the highest level of marksmanship instruction IΓÇÖve seen. If youΓÇÖre serious about progressing, I highly recommend the 4-day course. I own a gun store, shoot frequently, and train hard, but the attention to detail here is on another level. Instructors are an incredible resource of knowledge, and they truly made me a better marksman. Investing in this training was money well spent. Invaluable for anyone looking to elevate their skills. Thank you to Shannon and the entire team for an outstanding experience. - Josh

I just finished up a class here and this business blew all my expectations away. Their facilty is absolutely amazing, I've never seen anything like it. After doing some research, it was determined that K&M offered the best training for precision shooting. After experiencing this training myself, I can confirm that to be true. Their training is disseminated in a way that everyone is able to understand and then go out and utilize. Their curriculum was very well thought out and combined with the real world experience of the cadre, I genuinely think there's no better outfit out there. Outside of the facility and the services themselves, I've never met a staff that made me feel so welcomed somewhere. We were broken up into groups and Brandon and Jay were my primary instructors. These guys were a wealth of knowledge. Any problems I had, they immediately were able to troubleshoot and get me back on track. They watched over me and made me feel like family. I left only wishing I could stay longer. I couldn't recommend a business any higher than I do the K&M Shooting Complex. Shannon really put together an amazing operation. I cannot wait to go back.

This is a beautiful first-class facility. The range is well run; everyone is very knowledgeable and professional. I took the 4-day Comprehensive Precision Rifle Course, and I corrected lifelong bad habits. I was a much better marksman when I left the course!

I attended the 31 May to 3 Jun 2024 Comprehensive Precision Rifle course. The quality of personalized training I received in this course matches or exceeds the best of the best training I received in 40 years of aviation service in the military and the airlines. Shannon, Brandon, and Dillon are top notch (and that is just three of several more), and treat each student with respect while constantly challenging students to break bad habits and build better ones. Shannon’s commitment to excellence is infectious to all…e.g. “Nice first shot impact at 700 yards, now make the correction and hit it in the center.” Safety is paramount, and they go above and beyond to teach students inherently safe shooting practices under awkward and/or stressful shooting situations. The instructor to student ratio is one to four, facilitating the personal attention it takes to help each student dramatically improve. The multiple ranges are stunning in diverse training opportunities, and the classroom, pro shop, and overnight accommodations are equally immaculate. If there is a better shooting facility in America (or in the world) which has these kinds of accomplished shooters on their staff, I would have to see it to believe it…the day our training ended, after saying our goodbye’s, Shannon and Dillon and Brandon were working on the grounds, painting the targets we had used, maintaining equipment, etc., etc. I also want to recognize the student contact and behind the scenes administrative work that Shannon’s wife Julie does…she serves the instructor cadre and students very well. This facility speaks professionalism and excellence, but it would not be this way without the personal sacrifices the staff makes to keep this complex in immaculate condition. Here are 20/20 hindsight recommendations… 1) I completely recommend renting a house gun. The Kahles first focal plane scope allowed me to take full advantage of classroom ballistics training and reticle usage. This is the first rifle and scope combination that I have complete confidence in…shoots into a dime at 100 yards… At 700 to 1200 yards, I dialed my data, properly accounted for wind (often with instructor help and/or target miss experience), and expected and got consistent target impacts. Never once during the training did I question the rifle or my ammo…mental head work or poor shooting fundamentals were the culprits. 2) I bought a Kestrel and the new Garmin Chronograph for the course…allowed me to take full advantage of instruction. Also many students and instructors used the Geo Ballistics app…also a very good tool. 3) I did a standard 6.5 Creedmoor load for the course…Lapua SR brass, H4350 40.4 grains, Lapua 139 grain Scenar, CCI BR4 primers, COAL 2.820. About 2725 FPS on speed with good accuracy in my rifle and theirs. Hornady ELD Match bullets also commonly in use at the school and instructors have extensive experience tweaking the Hornady BC’s to get the best performance from rifles and ballistics calculators. 400 rounds is minimum…I took 500 to not worry about round count. 4) In my shooting practice before attending, I could have been better prepared by a. At 100 yards, practice shooting at 1 inch and half inch dots from the prone position. b. Establishing a prone position that I could stay in comfortably for a minute or two. With Dillon’s focused help, I got the proper size bag and and bipod settings to elevate the rifle off the ground a couple more inches which relieved significant neck strain. c. Focused more on staying in my scope and following the impact of my shot (Brandon kept pressing me on c., d., and e.). d. Practiced staying in my scope while operating the bolt. e. Practiced shooting a string of shots and dialing the scope for different range targets between shots, with minimal head movement away from shooting position. f. Practice shooting more from the PRS props at my home range. In summary, this is a best of the best course. I plan to go to the Alumni course also.

I thought the facilities were very nice both the ranges and sleeping accommodations. Very well kept and clean. The instructors were very helpful and patient. My only regret is the rifle I brought. It was a top fed .308 bolt action, with a second focal plane scope in MOA. It was pretty light so watching my shot was impossible. It had a heavier trigger pull. So with that being said I had a great time. My shooting did improve and I learned a ton! It was like Disney land for men.

I went to the K&M "beginner's course thinking my lifetime of hunting made this a little too simple for me. Well I could not have been more wrong. Shannon and the staff at K&M taught me more about balistics and shooting than I could imagine. I had problems with my primary gun(carbon rings) after the first day. The staff was extremely helpful in helping me get on another gun for day two. Each day is a super focused mix of classroom work and plenty of shooting. As others told me, the facilities, including ranges and lodging are fantastic. I had heard it was the "Augusta National" of shooting sights. I was there on Masters weekend and I agree with that comparison. I could not be happier that I went and what I got out of the event. I definable plan to go back for the next level course. Thank you Shannon and all your great staff.

I attended the March 2024 comprehensive rifle course at K&M (4 days) and if you're on the fence about taking a course at K&M ... it was absolutely worth the price of admission. K&M is by far the nicest and most well equipped range I've ever shot at. The cadre consisted of highly experienced instructors from all over the precision rifle spectrum (hunting, PRS, military, etc.) and included Shannon Kay himself. We cycled through almost every style of long range shooting ... they took us out to 1200 yards from prone on day 1 and as the class progressed we worked our way to on-the-clock PRS-style stages that required building multiple shooting positions off of a variety of obstacles. Targets varied from things like dueling plate racks at 300 and 500 to 12" movers at 500, hostage rescue targets in busses and a variety of game silhouettes anywhere from 300 to 800 yards out. You basically get to shoot every single range and target at K&M. You are shooting for about 6 to 8 hours a day with instructors spotting for you and they constantly adjust and reaffirm your fundamentals. There's absolutely zero fluff or jaw flapping, you are on the clock and training hard for the entire time you're there. What I really enjoyed about K&M's approach is their focus on teaching you how to troubleshoot your own training. You walk out of there with a very clear and repeatable training methodology that you can immediately start repping out at your home range as well. The instructors were polite, professional, and always focused on the students. Overall a 10/10 experience for new and experienced shooters alike and I will definitely be coming back.

Hands down the best shooting course I’ve been to. Shannon and the rest of the instructors share their wisdom, enthusiasm, and love of the sport of precision shooting. They are patient and make you build on your fundamentals to get to your level of proficiency fast. “Breathe Gus, breathe!” Is what I heard most of the time… I loved every day I was there, and I already signed up for another class with my wife next year. Thank you Shannon for creating an awesome experience! PS: be sure to bring your credit card to spend at “the candy shop” I.e the pro shop for all your shooting needs!

I attended the "Basic Long Range Precision Rifle Course" at K&M Shooting Complex from Oct 21st-22nd, 2023 and came away thoroughly impressed. The facility is impeccable. From the pristine shooting ranges to the classrooms, everything felt new. The on-site lodging provided a comfortable retreat after intensive training sessions, exceeding my expectations. What elevates this complex? The staff. Not only are they consummate professionals, but they also radiate genuine passion. Their humility struck me; they're experts without the ego. The course offered a harmonious mix of theory and practical training, covering range safety, shooting mechanics, mastering optics, wind estimation, and more. My personal hurdle? Moving targets. The introduction to ballistics apps was particularly enlightening. As a novice to long-range shooting, the insights from this course bolstered my confidence immensely. I still have a learning curve ahead, but the foundational concepts now feel intuitive. I'm keen on mastering the "four points of contact" and nailing those 100-yard zero groups. Thanks to K&M's expert teachings, I'm at least on the right track. I had anticipated shooting up to 500 yards, but I was taken aback when I managed shots at 600, 700, 800, and even 1,200 yards! Their 6.5 Creedmoor rental rifle also played roleΓÇöabsolute top-shelf gear. The moving targets proved a challenge. Attempting a 30-inch moving target at 500 yards was a humbling experience. Yet, finishing the course, I felt the exhilarating promise of improvement if I continued to apply what I had learned. A nod to Shannon Kay is in order. His vision is palpable throughout the complex, and his stellar team, Brandon, Mike, Jay, and Kevin, mirrors his dedication to top-tier shooting education. For anyone itching to up their shooting game, K&M's "Basic Long Range Precision Rifle Course" and complex should top your list.

K&MΓÇÖs attention to quality is evident as soon as you drive into the complex. The facility is maintained at a world class level. The attention to quality carries over into the classroom and training. Classroom training and range time are very well balanced. It is obvious that the training is well thought out. Shannon Kay asks for feedback and has used those critiques to refine the training. There is a mindset and culture that the students have hired K&M. The only way to describe the training and facilities is World Class.

I canΓÇÖt say enough great things about K&M. I learned more in the four day comprehensive course than I have learned in the more than 30 years IΓÇÖve been shooting. The owner and lead instructor Shannon Kay is not only very experienced and knowledgeable but has a great approach to teaching and instruction. All the instructors are highly qualified and very personable. They all made me feel comfortable and welcomed. Through their instruction IΓÇÖve gained skills, confidence, and knowledge that has improved and will continue to improve my shooting ability. The facility at K and M is absolutely incredible. It is very well maintained and a lot of thought and consideration has gone into the design and layout. If youΓÇÖre looking for instruction to improve your shooting or just a world class range K and M is the place!

I truly can't say enough good things about our experience at K&M Precision Rifle Training. As novice shooters, my son and I attended a 3-day private training with goals of learning as much as we could about long-range precision shooting, honing our skills for an upcoming antelope hunt in WY and hopefully to develop/foster an interest in LRPS so we can spend more time together in the future doing something we both enjoy. Our time at K&M far exceeded expectations. Our trainer, Brandon Hembree, was topnotch. His patience with novice shooters was greatly appreciated. He worked through our equipment problems and meticulously corrected our mistakes in execution with detailed explanations, and demonstrations while building our confidence to take on the next challenge he put in front of us. By the end of the course, he had transformed both of us from hunters that had never taken game at more than 100 yards and were feeling somewhat trepid about a western antelope hunt to confident shooters that now know we have the tools to put a shot where it needs to go downrange and take game hundreds of yards beyond our personal best. Our accommodations during the training were also topnotch. We felt completely at home in the Lodge, a beautiful facility reminiscent of a man-cave and/or weekend retreat. An incredible attention to detail can be seen throughout the entire shooting complex. It is truly a world-class facility and can certainly help you meet your training goals too. If I can offer any advice to someone considering training at K&M, particularly if you are a novice precision shooter, DONΓÇÖT invest in equipment prior to the course. Rent the rifles available at K&M and let the trainer go over the options available and offer recommendations about what might best suit your needs. The knowledge you gain about the tools needed for your application will be invaluable as you invest in equipment to apply what you learn. Thanks again Brandon and K&M PRT.
