Great place to shoot pistols, or zero in optics on a rifle. Better in cool weather though

Great place to shoot. Range officials are good. Getting crazy with fees tho. Took my grandson for range day to complete his hunters Ed course and charged both of us a range fee even tho I never took a shot.

Staff is knowledgeable and safety-minded. They are very strict and a normal person will appreciate that since there's always unsafe people available to potentially cause a problem or fatality. Glad to have such a facility available.

Went to the range for the first time yesterday. The prices are great, only $13 and you can shoot all day if you want to. I am also a NRA qualified Range Safety Officer (RSO) at a range in New England. So it was interesting to see how they do things. Many places have several ranges that are physically separate. But at Knight's Trail there all side, from the 7 yard pistol range on the far right all the way to the 100 yard (max) range on the far left. This requires a bit of standardization/regimentation. I am used to, and like, things a bit more casual. Shooters agree among themsolves with to go "hot" (handling guns and shooting) and "cold" (going downrange and putting up/taking down targets). As you can't have one distance range "hot" and a different distance range "cold" , The RSO advised there were only two 20 minute "hot" range sessions left for the day, I said fine. But by the time I got my orientation and was putting my targets on the backer board (only $1, or you can shoot on used ones for free) the buzzer went off signaling the range had gone "hot". Thus I had to sit that session out because I couldn't go downrange to put up my targets. But no biggie, again, only $13 to shoot!, for all day which is pretty awesome! It was a warm day (but will soon be warmer and more humid), but all the shooting stations are under cover (in the shade) and there were some fans on. The range is a bit louder than many as it has "baffles" for safety that stop wild shots from escaping the range, but they also keep the sound of shooting from escaping as well. Not horrible, but noticeable. RSOs are, like people, (OK, they are people). Point is they are all different. I think there were 3 RSOs I dealt with, 2 were friendly and helpful and 1 as a bit over controlling. Their focus is safety so following the rules is paramount. But if there are not friendly and patient, shooters, especially new ones, won't ask questions and seek needed advice. I saw the RSOs were observing shooters very closely (their job!). But I never found them intrusive. If you do something wrong or unsafe you will quickly get their attention. They watch for errors in gun safety, or if you are not hitting the targets they will move you to a range that has the targets closer. An observed minor error will prompt them to tell you how to correct it. If you don't it will be escalated. Dangerous actions can endanger yourself and others can result in you being asked to leave the range. Convenient parking is right at the range. And nice restrooms are at the end of the parking area. It's a nice, convenient facility with at a great price. Overall, I enjoyed the session and will definitely be back.

Would be a decent range if they dint have 20 yr Olds that are drunk on power to run it. They dressed down my veteran buddy because he turned his firearm to the side to eye check that he was locked back, like any decent shooter. Little boy blue came running to tell him to get out for that. The kid made the experience suc. Won't be going back again.

Drove there today just after 9 AM and found it closed. I can't find any notice about it being closed today. I'm a regular at this range, but there should have been clearer notice for today.

The range is limited to 100 yrd.staff is great.people who complain about the officers are not seeing that there has been a fatality at that range. So with that in mind, dont get so butt hurt.

Very disappointed I went there because of the good reviews and sorry that I did. Some big guy with a beard was very snotty & rude. I have the feeling he doesnΓÇÖt like retired police officers because I was wearing my blue line gear and I indicated that my father who is 80, my brother & I are all retired cops. After that even though I saw the targets pinging bullΓÇÖs-eyes he stated that all of us canΓÇÖt shoot and weΓÇÖre missing the targets and suggest that we move to the 12 yard line with pistols. At the 12 yard line even though I was watching bullΓÇÖs-eyes once again he Proceeded to say we are missing every shot & that we need to go to the 7 yard line. The funny thing is that I shoot competition in Naples and I hit targets drawing from my holster at high speed so I think I can hit some paper. He was hawking us the entire time while making negative comments. Also all my scopes on my rifles are not accurate for him so I took a scope off one & used iron sites and that wasnΓÇÖt accurate also. I never failed a police qualification and I have a federal license and I pass that also. According to the self proclaimed pistol expert all three of us canΓÇÖt hit the broadside of a barn T 7 yards & I know thatΓÇÖs not true.
