Lakewood Shooting Range

Q: How does it work when you bring in your own gun. Whats the process?
A: Handguns: bring in firearm, in case, unloaded. You may bring your own ammo. Pay for range and walk in to handgun side then load firearms and shoot at either targets you bring or buy there. Rifles: very similar procedure but you MAY NOT bring your own ammo. You must buy there's for safety and insurance concerns. They allow up to 7.62 in the rifle range, you may also bring hand guns in the rifle range but not vice versa.
- Trevor Foster (3 years ago)
Q: Can you shoot shotguns at the range?
A: No. Pistols and rifles only.
- Chet McGovern (a year ago)
Q: What is the maximum distance for targets at the rifle range?
A: The maximum distance of both ranges is 75ft or 25yards.
- Jon Bridgman (3 years ago)
Q: How much dose it cost
A: Depends on how much you want to shoot. It's like 16.50 for the first person per lane. I think 11 for the second. Discount if military or law enforcement. 30 bucks gets you access to all rentals except a few deluxe guns (e.g. Thompson). If they're busy you may pay more, the lane may be charged hourly I think. Don't quote me on that. Targets range in price from 1.50 to 3.00. After that, the main cost is all in ammo if you bring your own eye and ear protection. Ammo adds up quick. If you bring your own gun, you can bring your own ammo. If you use any of theirs, you have to use their ammo. That's where the most expense comes in. Hope that helps.

Q: Lookin to come and sight in my lever action 30-30. Does this range carry a wide range of ammunition calibers.
A: With rifles they make you use their ammo, so you have to shoot what they have available which is only 1 ot 2 options for each caliber.
- Brandon Dornan (5 years ago)
Q: Will the range be open during the shut down because of the virus? Or will it remain open with precaution?
A: They have been open the whole time. Just wear a mask when you enter, and when you get to the actual range, you dont have to wear it.
- Brandon Dornan (4 years ago)
A: The range is open! Masks must be worn at all times while inside the facility. Also, there are only 10 people allowed in the lobby/video room at a time due to COVID-19 restrictions.
- Jon Bridgman (3 years ago)
Q: Can babies go? I have a 6 mo old
A: I do not believe so.
- David Brandt (5 years ago)
Q: Do they have a day and/or night that women shoot for free?
A: No but Thursday is womans night/military appreciation days 1/2 off womans 3 dallor discount military
- Joshua Cha (6 years ago)
A: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays women/seniors/veterans get $3 off their range fees, but there is never a day that is fully free for women.
- Jon Bridgman (4 years ago)
Q: Can shoot my own 9mm hand gun?
A: You can shoot your own pistols and most rifles. You can use your own ammo or buy some they have there for an additional cost.
- Chet McGovern (a year ago)
A: Yes
- Jen kloepfer (3 years ago)
Q: Can you shoot any guns right away?
A: If it's your first time there, you have some paperwork to fill out, and a 9min video. Pay and you're good to go. Only takes about 15 mins. You only have to do it once. After that it's quite quick, unless you're waiting for a rifle lane to open on a weekend.
- Brandon Dornan (4 years ago)
A: I think it's a really good range.

Really nice facility. Only downside was the HVAC system It was either really hot or really cold going back and fourth. Besides that. Great place.

I do not recommend. The range and the store. I am a vet and the store front owner claimed I donΓÇÖt support local business. I told him I would rather purchase from the PX because they were nearly $40 cheaper, even after he offered me some ammo on top of the gun. To clarify, the store front employees were exceptional! Nice and kind! The owner of the storefront was the one that made the statement btw, not the staff. As I was ready to make the purchase with them just because how friendly and informative the staff was, the owner had to come out and refute me over $40. great sales tactic! Immediately bought my Beretta A300 Ultimate patrol, mossberg, and Glock from the px after. Now, aside from the store. The range, as you will find out yourself, the people here act like young unprofessional miserable brats. This was my 3rd time at the indoor range, they havenΓÇÖt personally treated me wrong but I witnessed one of the young range safeties raging out at a new female shooter that was next to my lane (She was aiming high, and IΓÇÖve dealt with plenty of ncos but man haha this young range safety had a full on power trip on this lady ! ). Completely ruined my experience and felt uncomfortable with a volatile ΓÇ£range safetyΓÇ¥. Save your money and time everyone, donΓÇÖt bother driving by the range, unless you have time to waste! Then why not ! Haha I wonΓÇÖt say the same for the store, wouldnΓÇÖt be fair for the employees lol owner was the issue.

IΓÇÖve been here twice. The range is pretty sweet. Cool computer target viewing and retrieval technology, 25 yards long, It was about 85 degrees inside though. Staff was just doing their jobs nothing more, nothing less. I get the emphasis on safety, but do you seriously need to TSA style search though all of our bags and have a rage officer babysit everyone, seriously what harm is a double tap going to do to your facility. Rage officer was a chill guy, just following bs rules. If you donΓÇÖt want me to bring my gun in CC already cleared in my vehicle, put it on your website or I wonΓÇÖt know. For 3 shooters we paid $80 just to use the facility even after 2 discounts were applied for womanΓÇÖs shooter night and first responder. You must buy 1 lane per 2 people, if you bring 3 people you must rent an additional lane even if you donΓÇÖt need it. You canΓÇÖt shoot your own rifle ammo which is fine but do you seriously need to charge $0.80 a round? Why are you making shooting in this state harder than it already is? I know these arenΓÇÖt state mandated policies. Go to Bullseye in Tacoma, $15 bucks for a lane (that you can have 4 ppl on,) no up-charge bs, and they donΓÇÖt treat you like youΓÇÖre harboring enemies of the state in your shooting bag.

GREAT DAY AT THE RANGE. Very nice indoor range and all the staff are super helpful and easy to work with. It's been a few years since I last went to this range but I still think it's the best one around. The place still looks brand new, clean and modern. I'm glad to be back. ALSO, Jeff the Armorer in the gunshop was super helpful when I had an issue with one of my guns I had just purchased. He was able to strip it, do a quick visual, and even took it on the range to test fire. Turns out I will be shipping the gun back to the manufacturer but I'm thoroughly impressed with how great I was treated by both the gun range and the gun shop! Lakewood Shooting Range and WGS gun shop is the No. 1 place to go.

My partner and I have visited Lakewood Shooting Range twice, and both times were fantastic! As first-time gun buyers, we appreciated how smooth and educational the process was. After watching a quick safety video (~9 minutes), the staff walked us through everything. For $25, you can test any handgun, and lane rentals are ~$25 for two people. YouΓÇÖll need ear and eye protection (not available to rent but sold on-site: ear protection ~$10-15, eye wear ~$5), so if you can, bring your own. Ammo runs about $18 for 50 rounds, and targets are ~$2 each. A huge shoutout to Brett, who was incredibly patient and knowledgeable. We were testing multiple models and asking tons of questions, and he provided excellent insights. When we shot the P365 and loved it, he was proudΓÇöhe owns the same one! We left feeling confident and well-informed, and after purchasing our gun, we came back to break it in. Brett was there to check us in and was just as helpful and friendly. The staff here is awesomeΓÇöone team member even dug through the trash to help a shooter who lost a part of their optic! Everyone is kind, professional, and willing to go the extra mile. We highly recommend Lakewood Shooting Range, especially for beginners. Ask for BrettΓÇöheΓÇÖs the best! WeΓÇÖll definitely be back to try their rifles next time.

I spoke to Chris today and he was able to resolve a situation that various ranges and gun shops had no idea how to address. Very fast, friendly, knowledgeable and non-judgemental. Will 100% recommend.

My wife and I couldn't be more impressed with the experience we had as first time customers. We bought a 380 and needed to try it out. We also fired our 9mm and 40. Both Sig Sauer handguns. My suggestion for all you swinging dicks is to get over yourselfs. The employees are doing a great job. And let's not forget you are in their place of business.

I have been here on three separate occasions, and every time, the range safety officer (RSO) was rude and over bearing. I understand a safety first mind set, but I feel I was targeted with constant unasked for advice, rude comments, and every little move I made was scrutinized. I would not advise you choose this range. Go somewhere else where the RSO is more professional.
