Live Fire Training Academy

Kevin and Eliza made the whole experiance painless and fun. These guys are professional and spot on putting things in layman's terms making it fun and informative for the whole family. Snacks and drinks along side the beautiful property made it feel like a day at the park. Oh and I got my CWP! We will be going back if nothing else to visit with Maverick. Different training and classes are always available for all skill levels. No need to go anywhere else.

First time taking a CW class and first time firing and I must say this was a great experience. Elisabeth and Kevin are very knowledgeable and very understanding especially with first timers. They made me feel welcoming and ready to learn. They made it easy for me to become comfortable handling a firearm. I would definitely recommend anyone that wants there permit to come here.

Elizabeth and Kevin were extremely polite and helpful with every step of the CWP course. I was able to learn hour to properly hold my firearm to get my shots on target. Absolutely will be going back to the range to become a better marksman. Thank you for the great experience. Highly recommend

My girlfriends and I completed a pistol training course at Live Fire this past weekend and I cannot believe what a great overall experience it was! To be honest, I was quite nervous going in but, Elisabeth and Kevin were kind and very knowledgeable. By the end of the day, I felt empowered and competent. Definitely plan on going back for addition training with my husband.

I recently took a gun training class with Elisabeth and Kevin, and I can't recommend them enough! As someone who had zero experience or knowledge about firearms or my rights, I was initially nervous about the class. However, Elisabeth and Kevin immediately put me at ease with their friendly, approachable demeanor. They made the entire experience smooth, informative, and surprisingly fun. They were incredibly patient with me and my family, answering all of our questions and ensuring we felt comfortable every step of the way. Terry and Kevin were absolutely awesome! We had a group of 9 people (including 2 active duty Navy and 7 civilians) participate in the basic pistol training course offered at Live Fire and it was excellent and informative. Terry worked one on one with each of us to perfect our shot technique and fundamentals and each person improved accuracy drastically from the personalized instruction. I would highly recommend you get a few of your friends and go get trained at a great facility with terrific instructors!

As a beginner shooter, this was the absolute best class! I definitely learned everything I needed to know allowing me to feel more confident and comfortable with my firearm when I conceal carry. As for the instructor, Kevin, words canΓÇÖt describe how awesome he was as an instructor. He is very flexible, patient, kind, positive, and respectful. His teaching methods were effective and interactive which helped with understanding and retaining the information. As a student in the class, he cared to build a connection with the students but mostly he really cared about you learning the material vs just getting thru the class. I highly recommend Live Fire Training Academy!!

Kevin is a fantastic individual to work with. There are 3 ranges to utilize (25y, 100y, and 200y). As long as you demonstrate competence and safety, he will work with you so you can train what you wish. Safety is his number one priority, as it should be. Offers training courses for just about anything you can think of. Nothing but positive experiences every time I go.

My experience during CPW training was beyond amazing! Kevin and his gifted instructors shared their worldly experience as it relates to both safety and knowledge about all types of weapons. I cannot wait to go back to Live Fire and get additional training, spend the day with great people and hang out with their mascot Maverick!

We just had our 4th visit to Live Fire this past weekend. We had a great morning training with Terry. Our family started training together so our teens would learn to safely handle firearms and be more accurate shooters. Terry is always great with us. He takes time to work on fundamentals with my daughter or I and never talks down to us like we should already know something. Then he speeds the training up for my son and husband who love to run drills. Our son even took some friends to complete their CWP class with Kevin. All of them had a great time working with Kevin. We will definitely schedule another visit soon.

Just completed the CWP training class at Live Fire Training Academy. Kevin and Liz did a great job they have a ton of experience. Everything was covered in order to succsessfully take the written exam. They also discussed a lot of practical good to know information and answered all questions that were asked. The Range portion was also fantastic, a high level of safety was enforced throughout the session while giving guidance to each student to successfully complete the day. I look forward to future classes and just range time to better my marksmanship. Well done Kevin and Liz.

The owner definitely went above and beyond for us. We rented the range for the day and had several friends come out. Our group went from people that had only shot a gun a couple times in their life all the way up to retired law enforcement and veterans. Kevin made sure everyone was safe and was happy to help out everyone. Will definitely go back again.

My Husband, 3 close friends and I attended Live Fire Training Academy's CWP class and were not disappointed. The instructors were very knowledgeable, informative, supportive and entertaining. It was a one stop class that included instruction, SLED testing, finger printing (This is usually a separate hassle in itself) and the completing of CWP applications, which are mailed to SLED by the instructors. It was an awesome experience and I highly recommend for everyone entering the thought of obtaining a CWP.

My church security team was here doing our SLED Qualifying. Our instructor was Jason Bennett and he did an outstanding job. Jason made us feel at ease during the whole qualifying experience. He coached us in the proper way to shoot besides just running through the qualifying drills. I highly recommend Jason and this range for any of your shooting/qualifying needs.

Everything was top notch from the one on one 2 day training culminating with 3 different scenarios with the Troysgate live fire simulation. The handgun skills I acquired were beyond my expectations, and you cannot put a price on going through the Troysgate experience, knowing how you will handle real life "worse day" experiences definitely give you some peace of mind, the instructors were very real and personable, safety was always at the forefront of every second you were on the property. I now have skills with drills that I can practice at home and also have a training facility to come back for continued honing and training .
