Questions & Answers

Q: I've been to the range about a month ago I would like to take my wife but she does not read English so she won't be able to read the safety paper you have can she still go??? What can't you do in this case if she wants to go. Thank you

A: We have the rules printed off in Spanish and English. If neither of those will work for her, you are more than welcome to translate for her. We will do our best to accommodate you both.

A: I can't answer for the range so you'll have to call and ask them, but they're pretty reasonable people. If she can answer in english it might be ok if you read it. Maybe even one of the employees speaks spanish. The key thing is that the people behind the counter need to know that she understands the rules.

Q: Can I bring my KSC 93R Robocop replica Airsoft pistol for target shooting only? This this is awesome, has 3 select fire options (single shot, 3 shot burst, and full auto.) Magazine holds 26 biodegradable plastic BB's and uses Green Gas propellent.

A: Yes, contacted the range and can bring airsoft

Q: Do I need my id?

A: Yes!! U have to have a valid government issued ID. You must be 21 or old to shoot pistols or 18 and old for rifles. OR go with ur parents. This is an ATF guideline. The range could be shut down if they do not follow it.

- Sonya Reyes (5 years ago)

Q: Can I bring my own clays and ammo for shotgun shooting?

A: From what I understand, yes you can however they must load your clays for you and they charge a small fee per batch of clays loaded

- Dennis ΓÇ£DJΓÇ¥ (4 years ago)

- Lone Star Gun Range (5 years ago)

- Saket Nigam (5 years ago)

Q: Do ya'll do any sort of gun repairs?

A: They do not but they will steer you in the right direction.

- Bruno on Oahu (5 years ago)

A: As a friend of the shop, I am confident that they do not repair guns.

A: Yes they are

- Stephanie Villela-Sosa (6 years ago)

A: Yep I'm sure they are

- Ferman Ramirez (6 years ago)

Q: Is this a walk in and start shooting type of range or is more required?

A: You always have to check in at the desk first. Always. And if it's your first time you have to read from a safety sheet just to acknowledge that you read it and understand it. It goes over the common sense basics of shooting at a gun range. And after you pay the fee, you are left alone to shoot on the ranges with little to no interference by range staff. All "cease fires" are called by patron shooters at any time. If you are new to firearms they are very helpful and if you are experienced they give you that respect and expect for you to know what your are doing. I recommend this range, it's my favorite spot. Hope this helps.

- Brian Harte (7 years ago)

A: Read the rules carefully. They do not play around. You will be kicked out of there if you are unsafe.

- Tomas sweet-reyes (7 years ago)

A: Nice people and yes they run a safe range. Rentals ammo targets all onsite in case you don't have anything you can still go and have a good time. No rapid fire or bump stocks etc. Like i said its safe. I take untrained new Shooters there to work with them

- David Laughlin (7 years ago)

A: Must sign in, read and acknowledge rules, and pay. Takes minutes as a returning shooter, longer if you are new so they can tell you about the different ranges.

- Jeanine Egby (7 years ago)

A: Yes. You have to sign up for a membership pay a small fee. Then fire away. But by all means follow the rules of gun safety

- Sean Butler (7 years ago)

Q: Are shotguns allowed?

A: Yes.

Great range, great rules, great staff, great prices. Would love some longer ranges (something more than 100y), but even without, this is a great spot. Definitely recommend.

Very accommodating to a bachelor party. We had 20+ and Instructor Mike did a great job letting us experience different types of guns, have a great time, and at a reasonable price. Great experience, everyone had a good time - highly recommend.

This is one of the best ranges IΓÇÖve visited in a while. They strike the perfect balance between enforcing reasonable safety protocols and maintaining a relaxed atmosphereΓÇö all stations are monitored constantly, but no overbearing RSO breathing down your neck. Freedom to shoot quickly (so long as you are controlled), as well as work from the holster (once again, so long as you are controlled). I interacted with four or five employees during my visit, and every one of them was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. While the facility isnΓÇÖt cutting-edge, it covers all the essentials: a short-range station with two distance options, a longer rifle range, several trap stations, and even a steel target setup for .22 plinking. Their all-day access pricing is more than fair, so IΓÇÖll definitely be returning often. Important Note: They recently lost their ammo supplier and are not currently selling ammunition. Be sure to bring plenty with you!

These guys are great, safety first and helpful too. Our clay shooter was malfunctioning and they gave us extra to make up for it when they didnΓÇÖt have to, much appreciated!

The Tac Bay portion of the range was fine and I had a blast renting it out, however the customer service was some of the worst I've seen in years. There is an older gentleman behind the counter that seems like he doesn't even want to work there, if he was gone it would have been a 10/10 experience. The other younger gentleman was nice enough, although.

Great experience. My dad and I never shot a gun before and staff ( Will ) was really nice and patient, they explain u absolutely everything. We rented a rifle there along with ammunition, placed was a little packed 9-11:30 but still pleasant. Our rifle had a little technical problem but they solved it fast. WeΓÇÖll definitely visit again

Hello everybody reading this review on Google Maps. I came here to shoot the 50 BMG rifle thatΓÇÖs available to rent there that I rented one month early for my 18th birthday on 2023 and it went well. Joe that works there carried the gun out to the shooting line gave good clear instructions on gun operation during the day we visited. Was super fun unique experience. Wanted to shoot one for a good while and this is the closest range that has one for rent ( 4 hours west of home address.) which was great experience. 5 star review.

Wow. Use to come here frequently but moved. Came back, bringing my in-laws after telling them how good of a place it was. We were immediately met with the most poor attitude and rude staff. As an avid shooter that has visited many ranges, this is the first time IΓÇÖve walked away from a range due to staff. My in-laws drove 2 hours to shoot, which adds insult to injury.

Best safe place to go shooting at Lone Star Shooting Range in Lockhart TX 🇺🇸

Gun range needs to add dedicated range officers at ALL times. Trusting all guests to not flag people or touch firearms on the table during a ceasefire is insane. IΓÇÖve already seen it happen a few times and all it takes is that one time for an accident to happen.

Great place to shoot. Staff was nice and gave us good info. "Stay away from Weekends and Holiday's. Mondays thru Thursdays are low volume good time to go." $23 per lane plus other peripherals such as targets, safety glasses and ear protection. Ammo sold is for rentals.

We went to the gun range back in July, as four Irish lads it was an amazing experience. Russ took care of us and instructed us on safe gun use, highly recommend the range. If we're ever even remotely close, we'll definitely be back, even got to shoot a 50 BMG!

Had an amazing time at Lone Star Gun Range. I took a shotgun class with Mike Murray, and it was a great experience. We learned so much from Mike, and his class was informative, relaxed, and personal. Mike is a great instructor. Got to shoot some clays afterward. Will absolutely be coming back and signing up for more classes and an annual membership. Thanks, Mike!

Great range, friendly shooters and staff. Limited shooting rules make this range a go to if youΓÇÖre visiting Austin. 23$ all day range fee is very affordable. Brought my Korean friend visiting on a work visa here and he had a blast. Will be back again.
