Questions & Answers

Q: Is the rifle range only steel targets, or can you post your own paper targets as well? I'm hoping to get a 50 yard zero on my rifle.

A: They have a sighting area (I believe it's 25 yds) but they don't want you to linger there too long. The actual rifle range is only steel

- Mike C (6 years ago)

A: The zero bay has targets at 25, 50 & 100yds.

- LoneStar Handgun (2 years ago)

A: Yes, they have 100 yard sight in range. You post your own targets.

A: Yes

- Douglas Fung (7 years ago)

Q: If I buy a handgun online can I have it shipped to your location and retrieve it from you there?

A: If they have the license, yes !

- Eddie Estrada (2 years ago)

Q: Do you have a 200 yrds rifle range?

A: They have 100, 200, and 300 steel target rifle targets.

- Chris Scott (6 months ago)

Q: I saw on the range info page that they do allow steel cased ammo. Does this include common steel-cased ammo for 7.62x39 like Wolf, Tula, Brown Bear, etc that is steel-cased but has a lead core with copper/steel jacket (not steel core)?

A: Yes. I come a few times per week and have used steel cased ammo of all kinds. Tula, No-Name, Wolf, etc. They allow MOST ammo, as long as it is not armor piercing. I would imagine they do not allow incendiary rounds either, as most ranges do not.

Great place, very kind folks. I was from outta town and wanted to do something American AF as the kids say. So I show up in my cowboy hat to shoot something big. These fellas were legit and coulda laughed me out of the joint but they came with that Texas hospitality and got me on the range with something I couldnΓÇÖt get in my state. Had a blast. The instructor was helpful and genuine. I only wish I lived around the way and could go more often. Thank you.

One of the only or if not the only steel target range in San Antonio! On pistol bays you can work at your pace and not one second every shot, like other ranges, so if you are working on double taps work on double taps no problem. Steel is at 15 and 30 yds w large and small targets. They also have private bays you can rent to work on draws and presentation if you need. ΓÇóRifle range is also steel and extends out to 300 yds ( wish it went further) you can shoot bench or lay prone which is nice. ΓÇózero bay is in increments of 25, 50 and 100 yds ΓÇó they have clays and even glow in the dark clays! ΓÇó shooting competitions events ΓÇó public and private training which I have not taken so I cant vouch for it, but nice that it is offered Overall great range and keeps me coming back

I had a the best experience at LoneStar…when you think about the 4 hour class sounds like a long time but they made it super fun and interactive so it honestly did not feel like it was long at all. After qualifying and the test I was even offered a one on one with the instructor in the range for some pointers and tips. I left much more confident and less fearful. I highly recommended LoneStar.

Went for LTC class, Brought the Wife, she was nervous about carrying and usage, and now confident, if not a gun nut now, very satisfied with the instructor, the facility, and the one on one lessons for handling a Concealed firearm, and The legal side. Very happy about learning about the USCCA! If your significant other, your friends, or yourself is unsure, highly recommend coming here to learn about firearms, safety, and Legality!

Place is great but if you're getting a weapon shipped here then expect to use their tablet for the application which is fine and normal until you realize the device has next to no security or maintenance implemented. Its a tome of collected social security numbers and other personal data in the suggestion bar as you're typing and within view of anyone using the tablet after you're done.

LoneStar is a great facility. We met with Alison Adams, with A Girl and A Gun, for private training and used a private bay. It was very nice and gave us the space and atmosphere needed for all we were learning. We were very impressed with the property and all LoneStar offers and will be sure to return soon.

The guys at this range are always helpful and pleasant when checking in. I've been here 3 times and I think it is worth the drive across the city to visit here. We normally grab an outdoor bay for our group and I'm happy to find out that they built covers for the boys to keep the sun off of you when reloading and setting up. Definitely coming back.

I really love Lonestar range. I NEVER go anywhere else. The folks at Lonestar treat everybody like family. The range is great too. I wouldn't go anywhere else and I've been to some pricey ranges. Lonestar is the best.

People were great, range was clean and obviious as to how it's layed out, rules to follow aren't atrocious like 1 shot per 3 sec. They do 1 sec. After getting to know the guys they let me practice double taps to 200yrds. The rso's were cool and only concerned for the idiots (which that day none present) lol. But all in all was a great experience. If your in the gun scene and no other gun range had people who invest in this like some do you'll find more like minded people here. Friendly professional and clean, even the restrooms were clean enough to make my wife check em out. When I say best damn range in sa I mean it! Very impressed by what you guys are doing over there. Also I got to talk with Mike from SoLGW.

I signed up to take Hunters Ed with my 12yo son. Our instructor, Josh, entertained us with hunting stories and shared his practical experience with the group. Josh kept our class of half kids/half adults engaged the whole time. Keep in mind that this is an active shooting range & pro- second amendment facility, so some people may not feel comfortable here, no matter how friendly the staff are. I'll be back for sure. If you're interested in learning how to shoot or improve your skills, this is a great place to go.

Ranges are great for outside! They offer a wide variety of courses. We do plan on a membership, very reasonable!!

I love this place! By far my favorite range in San Antonio from clay shooting to the private bays and everything in between this place has it all. Compared to other ranges this place is still relatively cheap and the staff is always friendly to my family and I. Highly recommend!
