A decent shooting range. Its kind of far away though. There are usually people there.

Nice range, has tables and benches. 20 yard, 100 yard, and 200 yard targets. Love that it's free.

I recently went back to MacLean Bottoms Shooting Range after over a decade and a half and it's still a wonderful place to go to hone your skills with Friends and Family. There are multiple ranges, depending on the distance being used. I happened to be sighting in a new Bolt-Action Rifle and it didn't take long to get sub-moa groups. I usually use the Little Heart Bottoms Range in Mandan as my "Go To" Range, as it's significantly closer to where I live. This is the one of the issues I have with MacLean Bottoms; it's quite a ways away from the City. Also, the road that takes you to MacLean Bottoms isn't well marked, and really hasn't been. Both MacLean and Little Heart Bottoms offer clean ranges, and good Shooting Tables to use. If you live in south Bismarck, MacLean Bottoms may be just what you need. If you live closer to Mandan, I would choose Little Heart Bottoms.

Great place to put rounds downrange without paying a membership! Super busy on warm days, but you're surrounded by like-minded people with their own equipment and "toys". I've yet to have a sour experience out here!

A really nice range, especially when conditions are good. Paved parking lot and concrete firing areas with tables helps make it a great experience. Can be a bit muddy placing targets if it has been wet or during the spring melt.

My favorite range. Twenty minutes from home, clean, free, well-kept (back stops do show wear as previously mentioned), and surprisingly scenic.

Great range! We were in town for a writer's conference. It was a Sunday, and we needed to get four guns sighted in to take writers out to kill some prairie dogs the next morning. The range we will be using later in the week had a match going on, so that was a no-go. Google maps led us here, and we were really surprised to find this gem. Well laid-out range with rock-solid, rubber-topped concrete benches. Lots of people out shooting, and it was pretty well coordinated. There was only one shooter who hadn't paid much attention to the posted safety rules, as he was handling a rifle while the range was cold and shooters were down range. There was never any real danger, but a rule was broken. After a quiet and polite exchange in both directions, the error was corrected, and shooting fun resumed. One thing I would like to see on the range would be a posted list of range commands, so shooters could be a little more vocal about the range conditions. There is no range safety officer on duty, so everybody has the responsibility to become an RSO and communicate. That said, I'd shoot there every weekend if I lived somewhat nearby. Well done NDGF!

A well maintained public shooting range. The backstops could do with a little more upkeep sometimes.

Great place to go shooting. It's free to shoot but it is a long ways from Bismarck.
