I actually use to like this place but The ΓÇ£gun smithΓÇ¥ Ryan is a lying little weasel. There is a new Armed in America here in New Braunfels. Much better customer service and prices.

Every time it seems like IΓÇÖm somewhere no one wants to provide service , got some batteries for a red dot. No assistance in replacing/ I would have paid extra . Same bad service a year ago . Wonder if get membership would they be nice? Unlike the Range in Austin where they are so kind . Been shooting since I was 9 about 52 years . Snobbery is the right word

Would give them a ZERO if rating allows. I have a whole list of complaints! ***They have horrible customer service.*** The manager, Matthew, in my opinion is unfair, doesn't listen and offers ZERO problem resolution to his staff's messing up and costing members a lot of money. In my, MBA Honors trained, opinion he is a "my way or the highway" manager. I'd love to know who exactly are the "family owners." I want my complaints heard by them, in writing about the extremely poor service and rip off and even, in my opinion, bullying of a senior citizen 😢, that this club's staff and managers did to us. Their website quotes, "provides the highest quality of service." In my opinion, that's a total lie and truly based on a case by case basis "good Ole Boy" system, where you better be a buddy with whomever is in charge or they will "NOT LISTEN" and show you the door.

A huge shoutout to the team and Ryan the gunsmith at McQueeney Gun Club! I came to this location when discovering that they also offered gunsmithing services along with a well ventilated and well featured indoor range. I nervously brought forward my 3 year long rifle build project and was met with a professional and understanding reception by their gunsmith. Having had mixed results at other businesses I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional attention to detail and customer service offered as soon as I entered their doors. Long story short, Ryan performed professional quality work on my rifle build project with a surprisingly short turnaround time given the uniqueness of the assembly and especially so during the holiday period rush.

Ryan and Matthew are really great guys. I don't just mean employees, I'm talking good people! Super knowledgeable about all things firearms, but don't talk down to you. They truly want you to be informed and have a great experience. I highly recommend this establishment, and I plan on becoming a regular customer and probably a member.

I stopped in here a few days back, to look at getting a new firearm to add to the collection. I was met with a sweet smiling face named David, he listened to everything that I had to say to him about fulfilling my needs and requirements. He even demonstrated proper gun safety as we handled his gun on the counter, I'm amazed by his vast knowledge of firearms and even the history behind them that he knows. David is an outstanding young boy and I definitely will be seeing him again for all of my future needs!

First time shopping at McQueeney Gun Club. I went there looking for a Staccato CS, which they had. Jordan was quick to help and answered all of my questions. Matthew showed me a few more weapons as Jordan assisted another client as I was browsing at the time he shared the Staccato with me. I ended up buying the gun there and added a Dawson Precision mounting kit for the Holsun X2 Red Dot, which cost me $199, on DawsonΓÇÖs website, retail pricing is $129.95. When I agreed to purchase the Staccato and a few other items, I handed Matthew my DL and Visa. At NO time did Matthew mention I would be ripped off by the 3.5% transaction fees. My out the door price was $3,967.72. I asked for a receipt and was told one would be emailed to me. When I got to my truck, I was stumped as to where the extra money I spent went. I walked back into the store and was met by Matthew who showed me the overpriced mounting hardware for the red dot and pointed to a sign hanging on the wall for the 3.5% credit card transaction fees. He then stated there was very little mark up on their items and had to make money somewhere and ALL SALES WERE FINAL. I was a bit annoyed as he never once mentioned I would be charged $134 for a transaction fee. I truly wanted to return the weapon and walk away. Both Matthew and Jordan were extremely nice and professional.

This business has no integrity and this is a warning, go somewhere else! I went in with my husband and a friend so my friend could look at a gun. While we were there, she decided she wanted to use the range and I told her I'd do it with her. We both went through the process and paperwork and payment. I paid with my credit card for myself and she was paying cash. Apparently, they were going to have her pay when she was finished in case she went over the hour rental timeframe, idk. When we went in, after a couple of minutes, an AR short stalk went off near us and I could not handle to boom of the gun. Mt friend was still loading her gun and I was just waiting my turn. I never touch a gun or my ammo. The employee still had it in her possession. The employee told me that I could leave and not be charged because it had been less than 5 minutes and I hadn't done anything yet. I believed her and left because the AR was too loud for me. Turned out they didn't refund me, and after realizing my credit did not come through, I called and spoke to the manager. He told me, that he couldn't refund me because I (probably) said I would pay for my friends. What? I never said I was paying for hers, and that is a complete lie. He said, " Sorry, I wasn't there, but sounds like that's what happened". This place has not integrity at all. Manipulation and lying is a part of their business practice. Save yourself a lot of trouble, don't give them your time and money.

Went in to start the process of getting a suppressor transferred, was advised by the guy at the counter that I would need a trust and we could begin the process today for roughly $275. After running through everything required in the process, Trust, Transfer, Finger Prints, and Tax Stamp the total was going to cost roughly $750.00 I thought that sounded high but had no idea how overpriced all of it was. Upon leaving I called for a second opinion and learned a trust was not required and you can file as an individual on top of the fact the cost of their other services were outrageously expensive…this was 20 mins later…NO SERVICES HAD BEEN PERFORMED AND NO SERVICES RENDERED. I called McQueeney Gun Club and asked them to cancel my trust application, they refused hiding behind the owners policy of all sales are final. The problem is they hadn’t sold me anything and had yet to deliver a service. Instead of making a common sense exception to their policy and be decent humans, they wanted to make everything unnecessarily difficult. I demanded they tell me who the attorney would be working on my trust and they refused.

My review is based on a number of visits to this place. My first visit was alright, the ammo is obscenely over priced but I got some anyway, just to get some range time in. Range time is on an hourly basis, so its $20 an hour for 1 lane. All the other ranges I've been to, you pay a flat fee and you can shoot as long as you'd like, but again I didn't gripe. My next visit I actually went to purchase the firearm I now own, but there was a $140 markup. I did some browsing and noticed basically everything in the store had a markup of at least $100. You can go to other stores and buy an optic for MSRP, but here, you're gonna get taxed. It'd be cheaper to either buy online, go to a larger gun store or pay academy a visit. Another visit, I spoke with the resident gunsmith about an issue I was having. His response was vague at best, but at a minimum, I was looking at $100 to get a stripped screw out of an optic plate from the gun they'd sold me. No fault of theirs on the stripped screw, manufacturing defects happen. The gunsmith advised I return a few days later when his workload was lighter, and I did. Upon returning, I got the same speech, but it would be an additional $75 to jump to the front of the line, which I wasn't asking for. I instead took my firearm to another gunsmith who resolved my issue in 2 minutes and charged me $0. My most recent visit was the most annoying. 2 buddies and I went to shoot, one of which was a first time shooter. They're very particular about what you can shoot as far as shotgun loads you can fire, duck load or bird shot or target shot are not any of the acceptable loads, but they do sell acceptable 00 buck shot at $20 for 4 rounds. They're also very particular about where you can place unloaded firearms as a non shooter. I placed my firearms next to me and I was going to load a few magazines while my buddies got to shooting. Before I could sit, a worker grabbed my firearms and placed them right next to the lane and said we could only place and load firearms in this vicinity to the lane, or in the lane itself. I elect to forego loading my ammo and focus on my buddy who's the new shooter. As we're standing in the lane, firearm pointed down range, no mag, cleared chamber, slide to the rear, I'm trying to give basic instruction on how to handle, load and shoot the firearm. Immediately we're accosted and reprimanded for one person not being behind the red line while the other is shooting. Mind you, nobody is shooting at this point. We apologize, I stand behind the line and try to give pointers from behind the line while other people are enjoying their range time, but surprise, my buddy can't hear me. Shortly after this after my buddy has gone through a few mags, I tell him he can keep shooting and I'll load his next mag. He's in the bay, I'm about 6 feet behind him standing next to the table which has his ammo and the empty mag and start loading. One of the workers comes inches from me with the knife hand gesture and reprimanded me for loading ammo behind my buddy. No gun on my person, just a half loaded mag and a box of ammo. Very shortly after this, the same worker sees one of his friends in a lane shooting and breaks all of the laid out rules that were given to us and approaches his friend inside the lane, ear protection half off and doesn't even bat an eye. Rules I can accept, but if its a, "rules for thee and not for me" mentality, I'd rather just drive a little further to not have to bear witness to blatant hypocrisy and micromanaging. This will be my last visit to this place. I tried to give them the benefit of doubt but I've never had these issues at any other ranges. It is virtually impossible to pass meaningful information to someone who is new to shooting as well. I couldn't walk my friend through how to sort out a failure to feed, double feed etc. I couldn't really explain how important your grip is, what you're supposed to look at when you're going from irons to an optic. In Summary, your money will be better spent elsewhere.

Great establishment, took both my kids and their friends here, they loved it. Only issue was with one of the employees who had a bit of a chip; IMO it would be nice if he worked on his customers service skills and lose the attitude Over all, the other employees were great and easy to work with Again wonderful place of business
