Q: Are 22lr rifles allowed?
A: Yes, but the longest firing line is only 50 feet. That's not much room to stretch a rifle's legs, even rimfire. Centerfire rifles and rifle caliber handguns (e.g. an AR platform braced pistol in suppressed .300BLK) are not allowed. The target backstop and bullet trap are not designed for that level of kinetic energy.

Q: Looking for a place to shoot while sons are in for the holiday. Is the range open to public to see if I want to do a membership? What would fee be?
A: Can i get a membership when i stop by and shoot that day? What are hours?
- Dave & Joan Drake (6 years ago)
A: Sorry, the club's indoor range is not open to the public, only to members and guests. Try the public ranges (http://rvssa.org) at the Jackson County Sports Park (http://jacksoncountyor.org/parks/Day-Use/Sports-Park) instead.

Q: Can you rent guns
A: I believe that they will work with you as far as training goes. I remember needing my own gun for range practice after class. The place is full of people who love gun sport. It has a very dedicated group of volunteers that help to encourage safety and fun.

The people are always respectful, and 99% safe. There was a young man who didn't have a lot of experience but was willing to listen and learn some of the safety protocols for the range.

I am extremely excited to further my shooting skills, in place of business that has been seen by myself for a very long time. I'm going to try to keep my posts updated. I'm a new member, in a new environment.

Can't recommend this place enough, especially for beginners. I've taken Phil's Beginner Pistol class a few times and there's always great info, Scott is also very helpful, and friendly! They were both very supportive while working with my daughter, when she got really anxious during live fire. I also love that it's open pretty much all the time, it makes it easier to shoot when you have a busy, or just abnormal, schedule. Most are volunteers, so they give their time for the love and respect of personal firearms, and the 2nd Amendment.

As a club (not a business), the program offerings are entirely driven by members' availability to organize. It won't have something for everyone, and some of the things it has won't be for you. But whatever you try, you will find a strong consistent focus on safety. Your learning opportunities are limited only by your own inclination to listen, and to try something new.

Medford Rifle And Pistol Club is Great,!!! I have been a member four months now. I enjoy it very much. ItΓÇÖs open 24hr a day 365 days a year. Only a hundred dollars to join and $75 a year after that and you can shoot all you want. I go one to three times a week. They have training classes available for all types of shooters. Classes for beginners, classes for self defense or competition also classes for women. Some classes are free and others are very low cost. Every member IΓÇÖve met there has been safe, conscience and courteous. Nice to go on a cold morning or night and shoot in a warm indoor range.

Some of the previous reviews make no sense. One person was disappointed because he couldn't find the hours that it was "open to the public." It's not "open to the public." The website clearly states that it is a private membership club. Someone else referred to it as "pricey." Seriously? $100 a year for an indoor range with 24/7 access (moreover, the only indoor range, private or public, in the area); NRA certified instructors who provide free firearms training; a dedicated program just for women, also run by an NRA certified instructor; reduced cost CCW courses; and several different competition programs - all available to members.

This is a great place to shoot. The officers are very knowledgeable and friendly. The club is open 24/7, just check the online calendar first to make sure one of the groups isn't scheduled to be there. You need to join ($75.00/year) and go through the orientation to get a electronic fob in order to have access to the club 24/7. Orientation is necessary so that everyone knows the safety rules of the range, and also how to operate the range lights, blowers, and other good citizenship rules of the club/range. I think orientation is once per month, but after that everything is really convenient and easy to work with! Friendly atmosphere.
