Great range. Difficult to get too. Barely made it in my dodge b300. Would avoid during bad weather.

The range has decent benches and multiple options for rifle/pistol. It does have netting to hang targets on, but they have been decimated by shotgun usage. There is a pit toilet, but it has been turned into a makeshift target for those who have no respect for public property. The forestry department has a rake for brass cleanup and garbage cans to dispose targets and brass. There is ample parking and great signage. The majority of the issues of the range are the byproduct of those who do not respect this area. The day pass permit is 5 dollars or a year pass is 30, which is amazing considering other anges in wnc.

Total sham. Went to buy my pass and followed the directions to a tee. Found the Main sign for the range could not find the range itself. Drove around on a snow filled back road with no service for an hour ended up on someone's property and they yelled at me. Save your $5, Glad I didn't buy the year membership. Guess proper signs directing cusotmer to the site would be too much to ask.

This is the best range around if you want to shoot pistols at 7 yards or if you want to shoot large caliber rifle at 100+ yards. I was the only person there so I had the entire range to myself.

Nice outdoor range with 7 yard pistol pit and 25-100 yard rifle ranges. The road has been resurfaced and is much more vehicle friendly now. The rifle range is covered and there is always room to shoot. The prices, $5 a day and $30 seasonal pass, is a steal compared to most of the indoor places Ive been to. Highly recommend!

Beautiful drive to a nice, quiet, well-kept 100-yard range. Three-dollar permit needs to be purchased in town prior to visiting. Be sure to pack a lunch and something to drink. Oh...and don't forget a roll of toilet paper. Modern enclosed outhouse-type restroom with concrete floor, but no running water or TP. Overall, it's worth the trip.
