Questions & Answers

Q: Hello All, I have read great reviews. I have been practicing and good with hand guns mostly Glocks . I just started interest with long range and a starter. DO you recommend me joining one of the the Friday classes or Are there any pre-requisites

A: If you are just now dipping your toes into long range shooting then I would absolutely recommend taking the class to get you up to speed. A lot has changed over the last decade even so there's definitely a learning curve and that is what we flatten out for you. There are no prerequisites, just sign up and come on out.

Exceptional day of training with Adam out at NETT. The theoretical classroom portion was well organized, on point and went deep enough to be helpful but not so far that you got stuck in a rabbit hole of info not needed for that day. Practical session was excellent. Safe instruction, great spotting, coaching and all done in an efficient and streamlined manner. There was flexibility at the end of the day to stay a little longer and work on specific distances after the days objectives were met. Great facility. Bring snacks and drinks, the breaks were minimal which allowed for more efficiency and definitely meant you got to maximize the day and access, I look forward to becoming a member.

IΓÇÖve been shooting for 35yrs, 8yrs professionally and North East Texas Tactical is the best range in Texas. We are so lucky to have it within a half hour drive of Dallas.

Fantastic course for all skill ranges. Took my friend who's never shot a bolt-rifle from HOU, I have made a hit on a target at 600 yds with a .243 , and we both made a hit on the 1000yd target's. By the end of course we were engaging 500-700 yards out confidently with the new skills we had learned. I would recommend renting a rifle if unsure about your equipment. only wish was the classroom could be a little shorter and shooting a little longer because of the information overload. Great course and range, will definitely be back.

Awesome class! I will say pretty fast paste but if you have any knowledge of shooting and guns then you will be fine. The farthest IΓÇÖve ever shot was 100 yards and with everything I was taught I was able to push out to 1200 with one of his rental guns. Awesome class amazing instructor. 10/10 would do it again.

This is my favorite range in the DFW area and I will gladly drive an hour to come here. The owner, Adam, is super chill and will take care of you if any problems arise. He also teaches the long range class and I managed to hit targets out to 1200 yards on my first time shooting that far. The RSOΓÇÖs are easy to get along with and great people over all. The range has steel targets of various sizes every 100 yards from 300 all the way to a mile. Very beginner friendly place. CanΓÇÖt recommend it enough.

Outstanding instructor, great place to learn if you plan to hunt with long distance shots. Dropped my Aoudad at 380 yds in west Texas using the technique he teaches.

Adam was great. Hard to believe I could go from 400 longest shot to 1200 in a day of instruction. I look forward to practicing on the rage.

I found the classroom session very revealing in regards to the various factors that determine hitting the target. Adam is very good at explaining the nuances of LR shooting. The range time was fun, informative and you felt safe since the small number of fellow shooters know guns and gun safety. Never having shot further than 200 yds, I was able to shoot from 300 yds to 1000 yds and hit each target with 1 shot each. I maxed out at 1300 yds but 2 of the 6 shooters hit the 1 mile (1760 yds) targets. Will do again.

My son and I took the class together. It was a great opportunity to learn a lot about knowing how to shoot long range. When the course was over and we finished shooting we both hit the mi Target. It was educational and fun, I highly recommend doing it.Ed Crews

I attended the Intro to LR course (22Nov2024), having never shot long range (not sure 300m Army rifle qual counts). Not having my own equipment, I was able to rent a rifle package for the training. Lots of classroom information provided, but not overwhelming, perfect for an intro class. All of that translated smoothly to the range. Was able to consistently hit 1000-1500 yards, couldn't hit the 1 mile, but two in my class did. I feel I gained a lot of knowledge to make informed purchases on equipment, and a basic skill set to hit targets effectively to make it fun. Definitely recommend the course, and plan on attending future courses as I get my own equipment package together. Thanks!!

Excellent long distance range for those that live in North Texas! I also completed the training course offered here, and don't hesitate to recommend it to others, even those that are completely new to long distance shooting. Previously, the furthest I had shot my rifles was 800 yards, but after taking this class and putting the lessons to practice that same afternoon, I was able to hit a target all the way at 1 mile!

I attended the LR class. My previous longest engagement was only 500yds. That afternoon, I stretched out to 1200yds.

I am new to LR shooting and new to the DFW area. When investigating ranges and training, the NETT LR course was appealing because it guarantees hits out to 1000 yards. Fossil Point has a LR course but their range only goes to 800 yards and there's no guarantee. The course covers ELR from many perspectives: fundamentals, ballistics, equipment, technique, and how to use a ballistics solver, namely, the Applied Ballistics (AB) app, to predict the bullet trajectory. There's a lot of information to digest and then quickly put into practice on the range (6 hr class time and 2 hr range time). You'll be expected to apply the concepts you've learned. Bring a shooting mat. You have a choice of shooting seated or prone. The prone position, however, is considered the steadiest shooting position because it's low to the ground and provides a stable platform for shooting. The expectation is that you purchased the AB app. Adam will walk you through setting it up and you will use it on the range. The AB app has bad reviews and I was very hesitant to pay for it. I used the free Hornady 4DOF app as my ballistics solver out to 300 yards with good success. I bought the AB app, however, because I was willing to do whatever it takes to get better. In the end, I'm glad I did. The AB app is not user friendly, but the mathematical engine behind the app is second to none and is used on Sig Sauer's line of range finders and binoculars and also Kestrel Ballistics weather meters. I spoke to Doc Beech from Applied Ballistics and he said the revamped AB app will roll out in phases. Phase 1 will be released in about a month. Subsequent phases will have new features. I think the AB app is definitely worth $30. Three last things: Wind is fluid and finicky. It's hard to spot your shot at distances past 1000 yards and then adjust your reticle, rack your rifle, load your bipod, steady your aim, and shoot again, all in 10-20 seconds. This is a skill I plan on honing. I made it out to 1200 yards, but had trouble gauging wind at 1300 yards. This was my first time out to these distances, so everything considered, I was satisfied. My goal, however, is 1 mile. $450 is cheap. The skills that I have learned are invaluable. I think as word gets out and demand becomes hard to meet, the price will inevitably increase. Come on time with your rifle zeroed, your bipod attached, and with the AB app installed. Otherwise, you'll be wasting everyone's time getting you on equal footing to the rest of the class.

Great experience with Adam at North East Texas Tactical! IΓÇÖve been a member of the range for over 3 years now, but just recently went through AdamΓÇÖs Long Range course. It had been about 12 years since I put any serious effort into long range/ extreme long range. Previously, my longest shot was 1300m, but that was many years ago. Hit the 1 mile on first attempt after Adams instruction. He brought back everything IΓÇÖd forgotten over the years and gave me a major system update, especially on the technology side. DonΓÇÖt hesitate to sign up for AdamΓÇÖs long range course at North East Texas Tactical. You wonΓÇÖt be disappointed.

One of the best ranges in NTX. Great selection of targets and distances up to a mile. Range officers and crew are top notch and very knowledgeable. A must visit if you are into the shooting sports! 👍🏻

IΓÇÖve shot here before and the range is fantastic. This is an updated review based on taking the intro to long range course with Adam. Previously the furthest IΓÇÖd shot out to was 180 yards. After this class I was ringing steel out to 1300 with a 308. AdamΓÇÖs teaching was clear, I had a clear understanding of what was affecting my bullet and I think it gave me a lot of perspective on what is necessary to push and shoot even further. I look forward to getting back on the range and trying for a mile

my husband and I took the class June of this year-we really enjoyed it and rang steel at 1200 and 1500 yards, respectively. However, beginner rifle shooters might become overwhelmed with the volume and speed of information.

Great course! the LR course (12. Of July) was very well structured and had a nice pace to it. Good job Adam! Coming all the way from Denmark, I was able to set up everything with Adam online, even the rifle rental. Great pricing, you will not find anything better price/performance vise. Loved the "extended tour" 😃

Awesome experience! Very knowledgeable instructor and great facility. Very confident know I can engage targets at 1000yds after only shooting out to 200 yds prior. Thank you. Will definitely come back and shoot some more!

I attended the class on June 28, 2024 and there were six (6) students in the room. Adam started on time and kept things moving. I previously competed in the Centerfire Belly Flop matches, so I knew the range was excellent. After the class, I was hitting the targets with more consistency and confidence. I think I benefited the most from the second portion of the class where we trued our ballistic solver and learned how to get wind calls by using the reticle. I have made hits on targets at the 1,000 yard range at other locations before taking the class. However, I got to 1,300 yards during the shooting portion of the class. I regret that time expired before reaching the one mile target. Maybe on another day. I would highly recommend this class for the novice shooter and to someone before they buy all the cool gadgets. I avoided wasting my money because Adam explained how some of those gadgets work in the real world. Also, the "Make It Match" handout card is a valuable tool for learning wind calls. Take the class, apply the principles taught and get better hits at distance!

Came to Dallas area with hopes to shoot my 7mm PRC out to 300-400 yards. I didn't have the time to go through the 8 hour class, although I look forward to taking it the next time I go out there. Instead, I paid for an hour of coaching, during which I shot every hundred yards starting from 300 to 1500. I was then told to go for the mile shot. Not only did I fulfill a bucket list item, but I'm now hooked on LR shooting. Everyone here is an absolute professional. I couldn't recommend them more. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. Thanks guys.

The range is always great and the targets are always fresh and ready to go. The people that own and run the place are very nice and will assist you with anything that they can. I highly recommend that if you are looking for 1 mile shooting, this is your place!

I took the long range class here and had a great time. I already knew a good bit about precision rifle shooting, but still picked up a few tips that helped me out.

Great class and great range! It was a very relaxed environment that encouraged everyone to reach their full potential with the equipment they brought. Prior to this class I had shot out to 500 yards with some admitted difficulty and a little luck. During the class I was ringing steel out to 1000 with no problem.

Had a great time and learned a lot from Adam with his extensive knowledge of long range shooting. This is just what I was looking for and didn't want to spend days getting into the minor details of shooting at a distance, but wanted to learn the basics and see if I could reach out beyond the 500 yards available at my local range. I was able to get some hits at 1,000 yards and felt like I achieved my goal with the equipment and ammo I had. Highly recommend the class and it is also important to come to the class prepared and ready to shoot with knowledge of your rifle and having it zeroed. Saves a lot of time and ammo.

I've been a member of this range for a while and finally decided to dive into the Long Range Class they offer. Before taking this class, I had only ever done traditional firearms out to about 300 yards. Now I have successfully reached out to 1500 yards and I know so much more than I did before. I am way more familiar with the basics of long range precision shooting and more comfortable even with my own rifle. If you are even remotely interested in long range/precision shooting, I recommend this range and their classes.
