North Whidbey Sportsmen's Association

Q: What days do you allow public access. Specifically for rifle shooting, I'd like to experience the range once prior to making a membership decision. Most of my rifles are common calibers, but i also have a 338 lapua magnum.
A: We don't have open days for non-members. If you know a member though, we do allow members to bring guests. Our public access is limited to IDPA and ASI matches, as well as Trap shooting on Sunday afternoons.

A: Current Members have an ID card that will open the gate. Suggest you contact the Membership Secretary to identify the issue.

Q: Is the archery range open to the public?? If it is, do you have bows for people to use or rent??
A: Thank you for responding...!
- Darrel Willis (5 years ago)
A: Unfortunately, it is not. Our archers have not yet decided to put on matches and hold other public events.

Q: Do you need to have a membership to shoot at this gym? If not, how much is it per person?
A: While our members have (nearly) unlimited access to our ranges during scheduled hours, we do have some regularly scheduled events that are open to the public, such as IDPA matches, ASI matches and open trap shooting.

A: If you include a signed "membership form," which is available on our web site, yes, you can mail the dues for $80 for a year.

Q: Do you have to be a member to shoot trap on Tuesdays between 3 and 5pm?
A: No, the Tuesday 3pm Trapshooting is open to the public. There is a fee ($1) I believe to cover the clays, but, membership not required!
- North Whidbey Sportsmen's Association (5 years ago)
Q: Do you hold competitions. Any sporting clays, skeet, etc...
A: Trap is the only shotgun events. We have open shooting on Tuesdays starting at 3pm, and once a month on a Sunday starting at Noon.

Q: Would I be able to shoot my Remington 770 .270 here?
A: Yes, on our Rifle Range from 100, 150 or 200 yards, or on our Pistol Range up to 50 yards.
- North Whidbey Sportsmen's Association (6 years ago)
A: The caliber is unimportant. We have a 100 yard range that is it for distance. We are building a longer one in the future. We have 25 and 50 also. Must be a member or be with a member to shoot. This us not a open public range.

Hunters safety class. Too many long-winded old hunting stories, and not enough hands on practice or teaching. Only 2 girls in the class. Unfortunately some of the instructors made a few sexist comments. Old school poster displays that can't be seen unless your sitting in the front row. Material is all the same stuff you learn online, so big waste of time. Easy to pass, they didn't make it hard. Friendly instructors. Gets you your hunters safety.

A convenient location to shoot rifles, skeet, and pistols. Ample parking. The compound is in need of some fixing-up. For example, the aging skeet range could use some new concrete shooting station pads, some high/low houses with automation, and perhaps some markers for a start. As the skeet range stands now, it's more of a partially obstructed field-of-regard to an open field; not much more. A covered area for inclimate weather would be nice. 5 stars for location and convenience, 2 stars for facilities.

Great time. My only issue is they should build up the left side of the rifle range so the trap range and the rifle range can be used at the same time. That way, I donΓÇÖt waste my time driving out there and having to turn around and go back home.
