Reading the details and hours. I think I will just shoot some where else. Drive 2 hours and get 1 hour 45 minutes to set up and shoot. Bah humbug

We drove up from Phoenix to get away from the heat and decided to visit the range while we were in Flagstaff. We accidentally forgot targets but it wasn't a problem since the range had some for purchase. The gentlemem volunteering on Saturday were so kind. They were informative and patient with us. The range itself is up kept very well. The restrooms were well stocked and clean. The drive to the range itself was partially a dirt road but in great condition. We will definitely be back again. Thank you!

Good people. Nice small range

Five stars for the nice folks that volunteer at the range! One star for the restricted hours that make the range nearly useless for most people. This spot deserves additional volunteers, more hours and more involvement from the shooting community. It's sad really, and most will just go shoot on other plots of land instead of going here.

The sporting clays range is lots of fun! Plus, the people running the range are very friendly. Highly recommended.

This is a very well kept outdoor range, the volunteer range masters are very friendly and knowledgeable and are quick to correct any unsafe behavior. We were up from PHX for my birthday and it was well worth the drive. 10$ per person if you do not have a membership. You must bring your own guns and ammo but a good place to safely get accustomed to your firearm. 10/10 and will be back.

Only open 5 hours a day, 2 days a week. What's even the point. If it's a "public" shooting range, why are there even hours. What a joke

I am going to have to give credit where its due, and criticism where it is needed. This does not stand up to the standards of other outdoor gun ranges in Arizona. There are several glaring reasons for this, however, the mere fact that this place still exists and is a non-profit venture is astounding given today's political and economical climate! Still, some major issues. So my issue isn't with the range or its staff, just literally everything else about the situation. In fact, where it is situated is a healthy distance from population, however, the roads in are unkempt, basically abandoned Forest Service roads - the one into this range is currently closed to motor vehicles due to the damage it sustained from the monsoon. The road is now more suited to advanced mountain bikers than any vehicle - believe me, I went and verified that(it was a good time on my eBike). That aside, there must be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. When hours are limited to a few days a week, and the range doesn't open until nearly midday on those days, well it's quite below what is offered elsewhere in Arizona. Whoever manages/runs this does so as a volunteer themselves, I am guessing - and is likely not doing a good job in reaching out, soliciting more volunteers, or just advertising that this place exists out here to us in Flagstaff. It's overshadowed by the availability of natural washes and pits where people can shoot for free. The website is written mostly in Comic Sans, which most folk these days interpret as a meme, "the font your grandparents would use when writing emails" in the 2000's type stuff. I do not mean offense, this is simply the meme as it exists! So, you may need a youthful touch to your website in order to not immediately trigger a sense of revulsion in people under 30. Truly it is a tragedy that a font can be so important, but that is perhaps one of the most important fonts today for subtle intellectual humor. That aside, the website does not really provoke engagement, nor do the people running this establishment... so what's the point? Do they wish this place to just go away, having relinquished their sense of obligation to the gun community, and now see this as a burden or a mistake? I hope not, they're letting a perfectly good spot go to waste, because you can't get to it, you can scant learn about it, and you are only encouraged to drop money on a membership by the range runners, nothing else. This from all angles is not a healthy gun club/community location, and nothing special, exciting, or thought provoking can come from visits to and from such a place in this state. Please, solicit more volunteers, have somebody update your website, reach out to Arizona gun clubs and shops around the state to help bolster traffic, and reach out to the Government to get those damn roads fixed. Anyone interested in actually utilizing this place needs to reach out and ask Coconino County supervisors to take a hard look at the road, and how it is depriving the state of its ability to safely exercise 2nd amendment rights, gun safety courses, etc. - yes, there is Timberline... no thanks. Edit: One cannot reply to review replies - it is not meant as a discussion thread as it is designed, quite clearly, but I can input that the reply below does not seem to comprehend 1. That I'm not positing qualifications to do more than simply leave a review, 2. That I'm not an expert at font, I quite plainly left it as what I know about it, and 3. Please accept due criticism. You know you need it.

It was a very nice day. We were able to visit many places there near Flagstaff Arizona. You're the meteor crater. Especially we were able to shoot our 9mm clocks 👍😄

Great experience and fantastic staff that are all volunteers so they truly don't have to be friendly or nice to you but the guys who worked this past weekend were all fantastic! Also, they probably have the cleanest bathrooms of a public facility in Flagstaff!!!!! That was great for my wife to see :) We made the drive up from the valley and it was worth the 3-hour drive. Also, it was nice to get out of the 116-degree weather for the day. The drive to the range was fairly easy from the valley but once you get to the road to the range its 5 1/2 miles of off-road so I would highly recommended having a vehicle with higher clearance than a car has. Just a recommendation but if you don't care as much about your car then it won't be bad. The range is operated by volunteers the two days a week that itΓÇÖs open and my experience with volunteers in the past hasn't always been the best but these guys truly go out of their way to ensure you have a safe and fun experience. My wife and daughter have never shot a rifle before and although I have they stepped up to offer some guidance for them to explain things better than I could. I'm not a highly experienced shooter so the advice they offered was much appreciated. I highly recommended making a day trip or even a weekend trip out of this if youΓÇÖre from the valley it really was a great experience and spending time off on the weekend with these super friendly volunteers was wonderful. They have some great stories from their prior life experiences and love to chat and tell you about where they have been and what they have done!

CanΓÇÖt imagine why this receives less than 5 star ratings. Folks are fantastic, shoot anything you please, quiet until your finger rests upon the cool trigger, beautiful Walnut Canyon 4wheelin less than 1/2 mile, awesome display of volcanic geology, up at 7000ft in Coconino National Forest, with peak views.

Great shooting facility. Membership is now $35 a year which is quite a bargain! It's a great little operation with a nice pistol range and a nice 100 yard rifle range. It also has a great set of trap stands, and a pretty impressive sporting clays course. It is down a bit of a dirt road but should not be a problem for most vehicles in good weather.
