ODNR Grand River Target Range

Q: Do you just put targets, like the self adhesive ones on a piece of cardboard and then tape on stands? Or do the stands already have a backplan that you then just tape the target on? Thanks
A: Imagine what realtors use for open house signs.....and you tape your targets over the sign. Or you can bring your own stands.....ODNR does not supply targets.....just the stands.
- Brian Wagner (6 years ago)
A: Stands and cardboard are provided you will need to bring tape and targets.
- Doug Murillo (6 years ago)
A: I didn't know that they provided the tape, all this time I have been bringing my own. Must be new policy.
- BattleGround One (6 years ago)
A: Stands and tape are provided. Paper and sticker targets only.
- Tony Valente (6 years ago)
A: They provide stand. Just tape your target on it.
- Greg Bitto (3 years ago)
Q: Just walk up? Is there normally a wait? Anywhere to schedule range time ahead of time?
A: Yep, just walk up. There's usually shooting lanes open for the pistol and 100 yard range. 50 can get busy Can't reserve as far as I know.

Q: ODNR is th most warm hearted gun range I have been to in the state of Ohio. After being turned down by A&A gun range several times and C4 rifle range always being closed, I would like to call ODNR my second home 😊
A: Because A&A would tell me everytime I wanted to go to practice that the ranges are open. But time I get there the range would be close to public 🤦🏾‍♂️
- Jeffery Appleton (3 years ago)
A: They denied me entry for arriving exactly 55 minutes before they close and told me I need to be here one hour when I arrived however never mentioned anything about a cutoff time when i made my reservation. Ridiculous
- Nick Balaguer (a year ago)
A: Why were you turned down by A&A?
- Brandyn K (3 years ago)
Q: Can Koreans use it?
A: Just the North Koreans
- Nicholas Baron (4 months ago)
Q: Can I show my range permit on my phone via the huntfish oh app for entry to the range?
A: Most definitely. Unless it's the one day then you have to.
- Bill Tate (2 years ago)
Q: Am I allowed to shoot clay pigeons here?
A: They have a separate clay pigeon area directly west of the entrance to the shooting range. You have to bring all your own stuff though.
- Matt Ouellette (6 years ago)
A: Yes.There are 2 clay pigeon areas. Mechanical toss area & they also have a hand toss clay area.
- jeff makkos (6 years ago)
A: My reply would be same as his.
- BattleGround One (6 years ago)
Q: Are you open Monday Sept 4th?
A: It is a state-run facility. And like all government run offices and agencies they are probably closed Monday September 4th Labor Day.
- Ken L (7 years ago)
A: Its always closed on monday and tuesday
- Steven Karlovec (6 years ago)
A: Closed Mondays and Tuesdays....so, Nope
- Luke Snyder (6 years ago)

It has always been a great facility, and now they are remodeling and expanding into an even better place. Visit their website for details.

It would be nice if the range were closed during the week of deer gun season. Nothing like trying to hunt while some guy shoots a thousand rounds a few hundred yards away.

Been a handful of times. Officers are friendly, educational and keep things in check really well.

Great place to go shoot trap, but people don't clean up after themselves; the place is littered with shotshells. I almost want this place to be supervised because I saw some bullet casings on the ground. I hope no one's shooting pistols or rifles here.

Place is terrible. I went to this place twice and i could not even shoot both times. All the 50 yard and 100 yard spots were taken and not one person was shooting. Everyone sitting in chairs with drinks just shooting the breeze acting like it was a family reunion. There wont be a 3rd visit.

Before coming here I read all of the reviews and IΓÇÖve gotta say, this place is totally chill and respectful. All of the ROΓÇÖs were very friendly and not a single one gave off ΓÇ£wannabe militaryΓÇ¥ vibes. As long as you have a basic understanding of how to handle a firearm you should be golden. Bought the annual pass and as another on here had said, it paid for itself the first trip.

I'm visiting the area from the southwest corner of Ohio. The folks here are very nice from the range officers to the range users. Since I am a first time guest, a gentleman named Bob gave me a quick run down of the rules and oriented me to the ranges. The only "surprise" for me was they don't allow use of staples on the target backers. It wasn't a big deal, though, because they had several rolls of tape we could use. I'm still here at the moment and am sure glad I came to check it out.

What a hidden gem of the ODNR. Aside from the 33 minute drive (1-way), I love it.

The perfect place to go and do some shooting. Relaxed, no timers to worry about, and inexpensive (with the exception of ammo of course). Nice area.

Great range, nice fellas running it. Just wish they would let you shoot steel targets.

I have practiced shooting at this location for over a dozen years-the staff are safely first and don't hesitate to call shooters out on rapid fire, shooting from the hip.

Certainly worth the price of an annual permit.

As a first time shooter my experience here was above and beyond what I expected. A gentleman who was shooting (Carl) gave me some great tips. Everyone involved was very helpful and as friendly as you could ask for. And I got a bullseye.. ha ha. Will be a regular no doubt.

Quiet peaceful place to have a cup of coffee and zero your rifles. Staff is on top of range safety as well. I'll take open space and fresh air over a cramped indoor range any day.
