A: There are paper targets for sale

- Kathryn Lamka (6 years ago)

A: There were paper targets available when I was there I believe for a dollar each

- Bruce Anderson (6 years ago)

A: There are paper targets for sale, price varies with size and style. I recall most were about $3. The 30 yard range has metal targets. The 50 yard range had a couple pallets and several foam blocks to which targets may be mounted. Nice range, organized and well run.

Q: Is it propper to eject your high power shells into another shooters head a few lanes away? That is what happened to me today.

A: Honestly the shooter has no control over where the ejected shells go. It's the ranges responsibly to put up walls to prevent this.

IΓÇÖve driven out a multiple times when it said it was open and it was actually closed. Would be great if the hours were kept up-to-date to avoid the hassle. Also they actually close at 3:45, not 4.

This is our go-to for my family for all of our shooting endeavors. They have ranges for most firearms and plenty of room for all. We prefer to practice outdoors, and we drive here from Des Moines just for the setting. Staff is friendly and attentive. A variety of targets are available along with safety protection. Both quite reasonably priced. Bring your questions, for they're ready to answer any and all. If you're looking to mag dump go to an indoor that allows it. You have choices.

Showed up to go shooting on December 28th because the DNR website said it was open to find a closed gate. Just another example of government incompetence.

This fudd range was built and run with tax dollars, yet they charge fees per person to use this "public" range while pushing ridiculous rules against customers. Staff act like typical government employees hungry for money and power. You can not build necessary skills particularly in defensive situations, considering double taps and "rapid" fire are banned. I avoid this range at all costs. Bunch of anti 2a clowns.

(Written as of 9.14.2024) "Price is decent" is the only positive I can give besides the option of 100yrds, 30rds, and 50yrds. Whoever the old white man is there with a Buddha belly is EXTREMELY DISCRIMINATORY against younger shooters regardless if they're following the safety rules or not. Walked up to me and started shouting some made up rule about how you can't carry an empty gun from the sitting bench to the actual shooting table with the stools while the red lights are off. Older dude thought it was appropriate to shout right in my face over a "violation" that isn't even a rule. I've shot here before and if the rules have been updated then they need to update their website as well as the training video they force you to watch. All and all, the old man there was just looking to go on a power trip and felt frustrated and needed to take it out on me, I guess. It's NOT okay dude. Everyone has an outburst now and then, but how you handled that situation was DISGUSTING!

This is more complex because everyone goes for different reasons. Personally, I go to dump fair sums of ammo to get more accurate and have fun doing it. I can say the staff here are amazing. I have great interaction with them every time. Im bad with names, but they're wholesome guys. Just say hi! They've got just about every application for a shooters choices, steel target practice at the 30, your own targets, and random asorted range practice at the 50 and long range practice at the 100. As for ammo, i believe green tips are okay for those looking for a place to use those. I think that's why they moved all steel targets at the 50 to the 30 and 100. Probably for spalling and steel target lifespan, but I'm not too sure. As long as you're following the rules. I've never had a bad experience going, and I've done a fair amount of mag dumps as well...within exceptions, of course. I'll explain these exceptions now: ΓùÅ I don't typically go here around hunting seasons, so for those who don't know, please stay informed. The reason being, this location gets very busy around this time. And doing mag dumps while people work on sighting in rifles might be kind of a D-bag move to some, so I avoid this time out of respect for my fellow shooters. That's really the only exception... and maybe fire rounds are a no-go, but I've never asked because I don't buy trasers or dragons' breath. I haven't tried trap shooting, but you can here. I also think they'll accept ammo up to 20mm, but this is based on the poster behind the counter, so idk for sure. At the end of the day, we are all just having fun with our toys, and just getting out and shooting is still training. Don't be afraid to handle your firearms, JUST DO IT POINTED DOWN RANGE.

ItΓÇÖs a nice outdoor gun range and reasonable pricing, but god forbid you go shoot the last hour before closing. They will ride your behind to wrap up shooting before they announce 10min call off and stand right behind you and watch pack up. Like, please relax. Such a great way to rush people handling guns. Great job. It you want people to pack up 20 mins to closing, then call that off on the microphone. Not while we are in the rhythm of shooting.

I had a great experience my first time here. The reactive steel targets were a blast and were freshly painted. When it comes to shooting at paper they provide staplers to staple your targets up. The price was great too only $10/hr and no other fees. If itΓÇÖs your first time there you have to watch a 6 minute video. I recommend this place and will definitely be back.

Great place to shoot. Clean, and the RSO's do a good job of keeping things safe.

Upon arrival, staff had us watch a ten minute video (wasn't bad) and then informed us of standard rules. 10$hr per person for family (wifey/hubby/ under 17 child) 16$hr. Such a beautiful area with 3 separate areas depending on what you are shooting and wonderful informed staff. Love this place.

Great, affordable, well maintained place to shoot. Archery, trap, skeet, plinking...it's all great. The guys there are welcoming, funny, and responsible. It's the only place I shoot around here and it's where I take my friends and family.

Have shot here in the past with no issues till today. Showed up at 4:30 simply wanting to get a rough zero on a new sight and test the gassing on my AR. Was immediately turned away by staff saying that they would be closing the range in the next 10 minutes despite the fact that there were people actively shooting. If you are going to turn people away during the last hour then please state so on your page. Some of us have to commute in order to utilize an out door range.
