Q: How do I get a range use permit?
A: To use PA State Game Lands Shooting Ranges, you need either a Shooting Range Permit, OR a Valid PA Hunting License. No testing or other licensing is required. Permit is around $35 annually (from July 1st through June 30. If I remember correctly.) BUT… The Hunting License is cheaper than getting a permit, AND… You can ALSO use it to go hunting with if you so desire… I hope this helps. YOU DONT WANT TO PAY THE FINES OR HAVE YOUR PROPERTY CONFISCATED FOR USING THE RANGES WITHOUT BUYING YOUR PERMISSION SLIPS FOLKS- BE SMART, THE GOVT IS WATCHING!

A: you'll need either a PA state hunting licence, a range use permit, or (if no one stops by to check ya) confidence and good fortune to just get away with it.

Apparently, you need a range permit to shoot here. was done shooting and got packed up and was leaving when the game warden came and stopped me, demanded to see my permit. I apologized and told him I was not aware that I needed one, so I got some information from him on how to get the proper credentials. he then demanded my drivers license, and told me I was in "big trouble", since I was packed up I tried to tell him that there was no way he knew I was the one shooting because he did not witness me doing so, he then brought up a note pad where he was writing down how many times ive shot and with what calibers... he then got my license and gave me a citation for over $300 even though I was not aware of this rule and told him I'd get the correct permits. don't think I'll be coming back. I'd rather go get a gun club membership so I no longer need to worry about dealing with them ever again
