Q: The rules state " Paper targets" but can the backing that holds the paper targets be 1/4inch plywood? I plan on stapling the paper targets to the plywood backing.
A: I staple mine on ply wood and see others do the same. I havenΓÇÖt had any issues. I interpreted the rule as saying no steel targets or beer can targets. I might be wrong but IΓÇÖve been shooting there for a few years now even had a game warden drive up once and didnΓÇÖt say a word to me.

It's one of the best ranges I've ever been to everyone works on the honor system and 99.9% of the time mature responsible gun owners but some idiot,, has damaged our range and ruined it for everyone as a responsible gun owner and shoot enthusiast I am going to apologize for that .01% that damage the range and now it's temporarily closed. I hope to see it reopen soon so we can all go out and have a good time and shoot responsibly Thank you. J.Creech

Nice outdoor range! The dirt road getting there is about .5 mile and is well kept. The handicap parking spots are on concrete slabs and are nice and even. The handicap spots are right in front of the designated handicap shooting spots. The benches are solid and in good shape and the whole shooting line is covered. It's nice that the seats can be rotated around the bench to accommodate different shooting positions or wheelchairs. The impact area is flat and mowed. We used the rifle side and it was in good condition. The ground out to the far berm was firm even though it had just rained the night before. I was able to get down to the far berm on my crutches and they did not sink in the ground. It was a little slippery right at the berm but not bad.

Really like this range. Was a little nervous first time there because it is self policing, but everyone there was flexible and readily participated in range safety. I go to this range at least once a week now and enjoy it a lot. They do do spot checks and my only complaint is that some folks do not police their brass. Consequently you do it for them to keep from stepping on it. I can think of a dozen improvements that can be done, but in the meantime IΓÇÖll enjoy and use it as is. Update August ΓÇÿ23: IΓÇÖm changing my tune and no longer think this is a safe range to shoot. More and more many young folks (some look about 16) show up with full auto rifles and will shoot 100 rounds in seconds, all the time laughing like it great stuff. I would highly recommend the state start providing supervision and require some form of registration process. March ΓÇÿ24. Some improvement with policing trash left behind. IΓÇÖm picking up a lot of .223 and 5.56 brass left behind.

Very clean place, as long as the people around you are respectful every now and then you get an idiot. But one of my favorite places to go shooting.

Great range. Never really that busy at least the couple dozen times IΓÇÖve been. Bring your own targets and stands. They have to bathrooms that are usually clean and allow a man to do his early morning meeting! Love this place!

Took a look Sunday, bring a target stand, bring mud boots as the pistol range had standing water in the target area, a group of about a dozen shooters gathered around 2 stations, rapid fire rifle on the pistol range and people shooting into the dirt at something 30 ft in front of firing line. Definity no attempt to follow range rules. A second group of three just as bad.

Excellent shooting range!!! Let me start off by saying , First of all this range is very nice and contains 3 different ranges to choose from. 1.Pistol range with 25 to 35 yards range. 2. A rifle range with 100 yards worth of range. 3. And finally a Shotgun Range with 25 yards as well. The range is very clean with portable bathrooms that are cleaned often. Full roofs over top of the pistol and rifle ranges with built in tables for your guns and Ammunition & gun mats to go on. With extra long benches behind the shooting line for guest and other shooters to sit and spectate and wait for their turn. Now for the rules: as always use safety guidelines when shooting any gun and a full list of the rules are posted at all range line entry points. Now for the cost: This outdoor range is open to the public , Free of charge , there are no costs of entry to participate at this gun range. This is a unmanned Gun range(meaning there is no staff present at the range) Before entering the range , be sure to goto the main building and sign in on the docket sheet. Only one person per party should sign the docket sheet providing Date/Name/County&state you reside in/How many guests in your party will be present and shooting/spectating. ThatΓÇÖs about it , make sure you clean up your shells and brass cartridges after you are done Shooting using the broom and dustpan that is provided on site. Targets: you have to provide your own paper or cardboard targets to shoot at. There is not a pin board to hang your targets on , you can dig your target cardboard with your target taped on it into the bullet backstop dirt hill or you can bring your own target mounting stand to hold your own targets. You do not need any license or hunting/fishing permit to use this facility. Just your own Guns and Ammunition/Targets/ Hearing / and eye protection. Safety protection is mandatory. I hope my review helped someone out , if it did I would appreciate a thumbs up. As always stay safe and shoot on!!!
