A: Yes its a national forest shooting range . A range for everyone.. Be Aware of recent price increase. All federal ranges ie national forest or wildlife management parks and recreation areas have changed their pricing for daily use per person instead of just a parking fee. Its $5 per person now folks

They have a 2 ranges, one for pistol and the 100 yd range for rifle. A place where you can shot with a minimum of aggravation.

This place is definitely off the beaten path and you will miss it unless you look carefully. But it is a good shooting range none the less. You have to be careful which day you come as it can be crowded some days and others not.

Good place to shoot. Can get very muddy after a rain for a few days but worth it to practice.

Not a gun enthusiast but if you are you have a great place to practice. WhatΓÇÖs interesting is that there is a lot of forest and trails that should you chose to can enjoy. Who knows, maybe youΓÇÖll discover some long lost area of the original settlers!

Looks like a fun place to spend a few hours and expend some brass. Includes wooden stands to hold targets on the rifle range and metal rails to clip targets on the pistol range. You can pay with cash in an envelope but there is also a QR code provided to pay online

My husband and I are visiting the area and found this outdoor range. I was pleased with the location and the mindful people we encountered. It was nice to be on the same page with the other shooters for cold/hot range. There was no horsing around so it made the environment extremely safe. We would definitely recommend it.

Arrived a few minutes ago to absolute devastation. Some bunch of F...KING punks trashed the range. Looks like the target stands were blown apart with a shotgun. Then they tried to burn them up. Spent brass everywhere. No cardboard or and thing to clean up with. My heart goes put to the volunteers that will clean this place up again. Bunch of worthless bags of air destroyed a top notch range. I hope their parents are proud of the dirtbags they raised.

This was an awesome little "do-it-yourself" gun range. Be sure to bring your own targets, guns, ammo, hearing protection, and safety goggles as none of these will be found there. There is no office and when I went, there was no ranger on site. It's the cheapest gun range I've ever been too and the coolest being as it is in the mountains. Do also be ready with a mobile device that can connect to the internet to pay your admission fee as the slips are not to be found. Highly recommend if you're in the area with your own equipment

This place is great. We were on a nice get away in Blue Ridge and it's a little less than an hour drive. The drive is easy and nice through several towns. We were fortunate enough that there was no one there there first thing Sunday morning so we had the place to ourselves. It's a clean range with stands and cardboard. All you need is targets and staples. Meet a nice local, name Bruce, and he was really nice and friendly. I highly recommend this range to anyone looking for a great place to be out in the woods and shoot some guns.

Came from south florida on vacation. The range was easy access in a truck. Area was clean and meet lots of friendly locals. Was my first opportunity to shoot at an outdoor range and couldnt be happier! Was plenty of room to shoot. Everyone practiced proper firearm saftey. I was able to shoot my barrett 50cal there aswel.

Difficult to reach as it is up a narrow steep road but what a great facility when you get there. Covered range with plenty of positions. A nice spacious parking lot with a very clean pit toilet suitable for women. There were around 15 folks there on a weekday some shooters and some watchers. There is a daily use fee.

I like this range. However...... Should be noted before anyone else drives an hour out of their way like I did. The forest is closed. Including here. One of the most wide open places on Earth..... The FOREST..... Is closed. And the only heads up you get is a tiny piece of paper with even smaller print about half way down nailed to a tree. At least post it at the start of the road so people can't miss it.

It's a good outdoor range. It is operated by the federal government Department of Natural Resources. You have to bring your own targets, staple to attach your targets, drinks, snacks and ammo. There are restrooms on the site. There is a 25-yard pistol range and a 100-yard rifle range
