I have bought multiple (very expensive) guns from Personal Defense and was a gold member for a while. The last two times I have bought from them were very big disappointments (service wise not the guns). Those days are over. The last gun I bought was a display model and they couldn't find the box the gun went into so I didn't get the box, lock, manual and the plate that is removed from the gun where the red dot sits. I was told to come back the next day and speak to the owner as he would have to find it. Needless to say he wasn't there and couldn't find it but I was told he would order me the stuff. After a few more visits with no missing items for me I was told they were ordered and they would make it right. That never happened. After stopping by multiple times and a couple phone calls to see if they had my stuff I gave up. I figured the $24 plate would be bought by myself and all my future guns bought elsewhere. As much money as I have given them and being treated like that is unacceptable and my needs and money will now go elsewhere.

What a great weapon resource and range! Staff was extremely helpful and considerate, and helped me with an issue I had with a new pistol. They are very professional with range etiquette and safety procedures, which I appreciate being from the military and maintaining strict safety protocols. I would recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a weapon or utilize their range.

Absolutely horrendous experience with their staff. Needed a gun smithing job done and called them to see if theyΓÇÖd take on the job, they agreed. I drove 7+ hours from another state to get there, only to have them say they had no idea of what I was talking about, despite the fact I CALLED THEM only a few days prior and CONFIRMED they would take on the job over the phone. To make it worse, none of the staff had any idea of anyone else in the area who would be able to what I needed, which was a fairly simple job. ItΓÇÖs one thing for a business to turn away customers as they have the right to do so, but not keeping your word and claiming ignorance is a different story. DO BETTER!!!

Rick is the old man behind the counter. DonΓÇÖt mind him. He knows a lot, his knowledge is super useful. Cheapest ammo in town, great energy and the shop is always full. Love it here

I also had the same experience as Zach Sullivan. There was this little wanna be in there acting like he knew everything and talked down to you like some child. This coupled with the mandatory policy that you have to buy a box of ammo from them and I will happily go over to Eagle 1 to do my shooting.

This place and staff are a joke, donΓÇÖt waste your time or money. Plenty of other stores and ranges around that respect their customers with way better prices than this clown factory.

I was a new customer. I went a couple of times to shoot. I've always been a fan of revolvers. Yesterday I wanted to buy my first semi-automatic. I wanted to rent one from them first to understand how to use it. The older gentleman rudely answered me no, and with the younger man they started making fun of me. They said things like: "today we don't want your money," and, "take it easy with that revolver". It was extremely disrespecful. I was mortified. The only person who was kind was a young lady. I won't be back. I'm going to spend my money with someone else who respects and appreciates their customers.

The pricing here is out of control. The cost of ammo is 2x what I can get it for online or at other stores. Anyone who buys ammo here is clueless and getting ripped off. There's no need to profit that much on ammo when you have range services, firearms sales, and accessories, etc. Up-charging basic common ammo is like drink restricted places up-charging for water bottles. Ridiculous.

Cant shoot rifles there and the reasoning was dumb. Theyre afraid the shockwaves will break the plexiglass windows 15 feet behind the lanes. Also the staff isnt the brightest. Only 2 stars for decent price on a scar 17 i bought

The guys at the shop went above and Beyond to help me get my handgun back after accidentally leaving it in a hotel room during a recent stay in Raleigh. I called and explained what happened and within hours they had my handgun and had it back to my local dealer fast. I highly recommend Personal Defense & Handgun Safety as they are still one of the few that go out of there way to help the 2A community and my deepest gratitude goes out to them.
