Q: How long is the process to obtain the gun license and what is the price?
A: According to NYS Statute, the processing time for a handgun license application is 6 months. However, longer waits are not uncommon based on circumstances determined by the NYPD License Division. Our fees for handgun license assistance can vary based on the category of handgun license being applied for and any State mandated firearms training given at our affiliated firearms school. A: The new NYS Concealed Carry Improvement Act (CCIA) lists a multitude of New York City locations that are categorized as "sensitive or restricted". Sensitive locations are government buildings and properties which are off-limits to concealed carry licensees. A restricted location is private property and the property owner must give a licensee specific permission or post a sign allowing guns on the premises. It should be noted that as of the date of this response the constitutionality of the CCIA is being litigated and the laws governing concealed carry in New York may change in the future.

Q: Hi,I am working on applying for a Rifle/shotgun permit and a Pistol Premise permit for the first time. On my application do I have upload an Acknowledgment of Person Agreeing to Safeguard Firearms form? Or only a ID photo of my safeguard person?
A: The supporting documents required for a firearms license application is determined by the category of license being applied for and on the unique circumstances of each applicant. That being said, all categories of firearms licenses require a completed safeguarding document and the appropriate identification credentials.

Q: Hello Arnold, This is Charles. Is there some Sort of discount in order to maintain two Different licenses such as the premises and The concealed carry license? Can i conceal Carry on public transportation or in my Personal car?
A: We offer military and senior citizen discounts on our handgun license assistance services. Additionally, the government licensing fees are reduced if you apply for two or more firearms licenses at the same time. Presently, the NYS Concealed Carry Improvement Act (CCIA) prohibits a private citizen from carrying a loaded handgun on public transportation. However, a licensee is allowed to conceal and carry a loaded handgun in their private vehicle.

Q: Hello, I already have a Premises License And would like to upgrade to a NYC Concealed Carry License. Would i have to Maintain two Licenses? And how much is The annual fee for the Carry Concealed License? How many guns on Carry Concealed?
A: Dear Charles, You can upgrade your NYC Premise Residence license to a Concealed Carry license. However, the Concealed Carry license is limited to a maximum of two handguns. On the other hand, you can own an unlimited amount of handguns on your Premise Residence license. If you want to own more than two handguns then you must maintain both licenses. A: Private individuals with a clean record can now obtain a Concealed Carry License (CCW) in New York City. However, you must not enter into any sensitive or restricted locations. A handgun license application package requires copies of numerous supporting identification documents (i.e., driver's license, passport, social security card, etc.).
