Q: I have moved to area from Texas. Are there tests to carry? Can you carry in colorado?

A: Open carry is legal in the state of colorado in all places except denver, open carry is defined as the firearm visible from 3 directions, no class is necessary to open carry and concealed carry is issuable with a test. hope this helps!

Nice, when it's open. Not well funded. I want my family membership fees, returned! Won't even give 3 stars in light of prior better memories. The range now operates primarily on volunteer hours, and "they" don't pay the site caretaker/Rangemaster(RM) anything close to a livable wage. Even though there's ~20 hours a week of maintenance to be done on top of open hours for the range. The condition of the housing on site is poorly degraded. I personally helped a previous RM to patch several holes in the roof. He mentioned the related mold and also mice being unstoppable because of the unkept condition of the home. Stopped by on a Saturday (01Feb25) just after 2pm, and they're already closed to paid members! Even though the parks and wildlife guy just showed up, unlocked the gates and already had a few of his rifles out. Strange how he started putting those up after he told me the range was closed!!! Now why would he do that? I'm sure it COULDN'T be that he was waiting for me to drive away, then resume his shooting session. Posted hours currently say until 5pm, hard to get a hold of anyone by the posted phone number, too. Makes the drive to Whittington a comfortable reality. Ringing steel at their ''star'' range sure is fun! If law enforcement and parks have become so privileged, no wonder the growing division between us "regular" people. Who develop bad habits like just going and shooting at trash in the wilderness. Trinidad's people deserve better of their leadership!!!

This place is a hidden gem! I was surprised to find I was the only one there to shoot at Noon on a Saturday. I sighted in a new rifle, shot handguns and also shot trap and skeet and it was so enjoyable. The staff was so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. If I didnΓÇÖt live 3 hours away I would be signing up for a membership.
