Questions & Answers

Q: So the Princeton gun range is a mess what do we have to do to get a group of volunteers to go out for a day and rake up shells and pick up all the trash and make the range a better cleaner place.

A: It was a shame to see the condition it was in!! I did my part and pick up all the shotgun shells from the shotgun area, but there was still so much trash out there. It would be a great idea for a site wide clean up day.

Drove out from New Jersey to visit family. Brought my AR-15 to blast off a couple of rounds. Met the greatest guys who let my son and I shoot their guns, and some clay traps. Gave them my AR to shoot and we all had a great time. Excellent people at a Great range.

Good to bring your own. Usually crowded, shot up signs, and garbage left without people picking up after themselves. There is a place for garbage but people don't seem to use it.

Call it the last symbol of freedom in America. A free shooting range where you can bring any firearm, shoot any ammo, and stay as long as the light allows. Enjoy for now

As a former Marine, itΓÇÖs disgusting to witness the lack of weapon discipline the majority of people who use this range lack. Nobody cleans up after their session so the place always looks like a dump. ItΓÇÖs probably best theyΓÇÖre closing it.

Took the wife out to shoot, there were about 10 others out there. Everyone respected each other very well. This can be safe or dagerous depending on who is around you! I gave it 4 stars because its pretty dirty there. Actually sad to see how many casings are laying around. It was fun, free, and over all a good experience tho. Maybe they should have sponsers like the roads do for clean up. 🤷‍♂️

It was my first time shooting a gun and it was a great place to experience that for the first time. IΓÇÖd definitely come back in the future.

It's a nice place considering that no one police up there brass and clean up after themselves. We shot at our targets we brought with us. There was other people out there we share the range with respect and notified each other when going down range to fix targets . Besides that not to bad but needs some tlc out there. We tried to police up brass from spent ammo. There was a guy out there trying to clean up the range not sure who he was, but he was a least trying to clean up.

Great outdoor range. Operating time sunrise to sunset. Very very spacious. Many posts and much open field. If you bring a target just tell down either side of the field to hold fire. Place your target and get to shooting! Friendly to any weapon you may legally possess.

Updated over the past several years. Shooting benches added to all the lanes. Movable targets is a nice touch. IOWA DNR Rangemaster often there during the weekends to answer questions and help control when its safe to walk down range to change/check your targets. And yes; its free and open to the public. Nice family atmosphere. Many pleasant hrs have been spent there with son and now I take my daughter.
