I've recently taken the Concealed Carry and Handgun confidence courses, both taught by Don. Both have been fantastic learning opportunities with great instruction. Don is incredibly knowledgeable and is able to share the information so that all of the class attendees can understand and find value in the knowledge. Frank assisted with the Handgun confidence course and was another wealth of knowledge and helped speed up my learning curve with tweaks to my technique that helped me find immediate improvement. I would highly recommend taking courses by either of these guys!

I've now attended multiple classes led by Don and the folks at Rainier, and it was been great. Great learning experience, you can tell Don puts a lot of passion into what he is teaching. This alone makes learning enjoyable but the knowledge that is being shared make it that much better. 100% would recommend taking courses there. The people there are friendly, knowledgeable, and very willing to help. Excited to continue taking courses there!

Don and Frank were outstanding instructorsΓÇöknowledgeable, patient, and committed to ensuring every participant felt comfortable and safe. They covered everything from firearm safety and handling techniques to proper stance, grip, and accuracy drills. Their hands-on approach and clear instruction made a huge difference in my understanding and skills. I'm going to be very honest, don't waste time going anywhere else. These guys know their stuff, are super friendly, and will answer your questions to the best of their abilities. I've never had a negative experience here. If you need anything from firearms to firearm accessories, they got it and if they don't have it in store, there's a good chance that they have it on their website. I don't go anywhere else in town anymore.

I grew up in Wichita and was familiar with all of the original gun stores from the 80s to now. I was even around when Bullseye was just starting up and it had an archery range in it. Over the years I've never really enjoyed any of those places though. They always seemed to have some of the same recycled employees that would give bad information. It seemed a little better when Range54 came into town. But it was highly disappointing to learn that they were not suppressor-friendly. In a nutshell, most of the gun stores in town just seemed to drag their feet on what people wanted. I even heard a Bullseye employee dissuading a honest question about whether one should get a suppressor. The closest thing to a decent gun store was Thunderbird Tactical. But Thunderbird definitely felt like it had too much ego going around. It was the extreme opposite of the other Fudd stores. I was a bit skeptical when Rainier came along. It seemed like a good chance for Wichita to finally get a decent range. Range54 was friendly, but the training seemed to be recycled old small town LE training. As LE, I didn't see a whole lot of impressive info coming from them, but the range was pretty neat. I checked out Rainier on the cold opening several years back and it was like the in-person version of their online offerings. There were several guns you would never see in other gun stores, but would always see online. Lots of accessories for suppressors and other NFA-related items. Staff was young, knowledgeable, and current with ongoing gun trends. I decided to check out one of the Tactical Thursdays, now called STX nights. Not knowing what to expect, I was faced with a blind scenario that I had to navigate through the range. Faced with shoot and no-shoot targets. I got to test the skills I brought with me at the moment and see how it all played out. No other range had anything like it. This was different from competition, which I didn't particularly care for. It was based on tactics, not just who could rip through a stage the fastest. Next there were drill nights. I learned quickly that carbine drill night also implied you need a secondary gun (pistol) as well. Show up and have a chance to see how you do with 4-6 drills. You get to see everyone and everyone gets to see you. All of the drills were challenging and highlighted strengths/weaknesses. After going to several of these, I started to check out their classes. I had been going to other firearms training and it was good to see Rainier was right on par with what I was learning through the most current instructors. The environment for the classes, drills, etc. was always encouraging and laid back. People of any skill level and experience were always treated well and helped. After seeing other people coming back regularly to these training opportunities, there is always a marked improvement in their skills and abilities. The real secret about this "gun store" is the training opportunities. No one else is doing drill nights for low light, night vision, carbine, pistol, etc. You show up in a full plate carrier with 6 mags stacked deep, no one looks at you strange. You want to rock the concealed carry pistol you brought with a pocket mag? No problem, someone else is probably doing to the same thing. On top of that, you get the chance to talk with like-minded people who can also share their experience and knowledge. New suppressor that just came out? Chances are someone at one of these nights probably just got one. I've also found that the retail part can have hidden items that are out of stock online. Different muzzle devices and parts they may be in high demand online can actually be in-store. I've only written one review for a gun store - Bullseye. It was a negative one about their staff overbooking/sandwiching my time slot. They did that to me twice and I got tired of dealing with their crusty old Fudd staff. As a selective customer who doesn't like to deal with 95% of gun stores, please accept this review in the highest regard.

Attended a conceal-carry class today at Rainier Arms, and instructor was Sheriff Deputy Mike Miles. I already have my license, but wanted a refresher course while my lady was there for her license! To say that I was impressed with Mike is an understatement! He was very detail oriented, knowledgeable, and energetic! He took a 9 hr class and kept 14 trainees engaged and awake! Best part of all, he made me more comfortable with carrying a gun. Knowledge is confidence, and he definitely gave us that today. Also, he corrected my shooting grip and and other tips, allowing me to go 24/25 on the range. I would 110% recommend Mike for any class offered that he will instruct!!! I will definitely be back for more, thank you Mike👍💪🏼

I recently attended a concealed carry class as a beginner gun owner, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the experience and how comfortable I felt throughout the course. As a younger woman with “centralist” political affiliation, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the instructor (Mike Miles - 👋🏼) and the atmosphere exceeded all my expectations. The class was incredibly welcoming and non-judgmental. The instructor focused on safety, responsibility, and the laws surrounding concealed carry, which made me feel confident in my ability to make informed decisions. They broke down everything in an easy-to-understand way and patiently answered all my questions, even the ones I thought might seem super basic. The practical portion was especially empowering—it was my first time handling a firearm by myself without my husband, and the hands-on instruction was thorough and supportive. I was having a hard time handling the reverb from shooters on both sides of me and the instructor recognized, asked me to step back to take a break, got another instructor to stay with me and give me feedback, and let me wait until more of the other learners had finished to finish my qualification shots. I’ve shot guns my whole life, but always with my dad or husband present and handling much of the process for me. It was super empowering to do it on my own with a little extra support. Whether you’re looking to learn about firearm safety or just curious about concealed carry, I highly recommend this class. It’s a great starting point for anyone, regardless of your background or experience; although I would definitely recommend their beginner course first if you’ve never handled a gun before first, just so you have a little more knowledge. I walked away feeling more confident and prepared, and I appreciated the emphasis on safety and the importance of “outsourcing violence” when possible.

I recommend the instructional courses. I've taken 2 now with Don and am very satisfied. He teaches to every skill level and not just to certain people, so everyone gets something from the course. The shop also has friendly helpful staff, good inventory, it's a great place to shop.

I attended a CCHL course here that was instructed by Mike Miles. The course was very informative, covering the legalities and a broad range of other information related to the concealed carrying of a firearm. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and made the eight hour course fly by with his energetic passion for the course material. All in all a wonderful experience.

Took one of their classes with Mike Miles. The class was great. He did a great job explaining everything, while still making it very interesting, and making sure we were prepared to use the knowledge from the class. The class was enjoyable and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Been to their range before also, and it was quite enjoyable. They are very safe, while still allowing you to have fun while shooting.

I went to purchase a firearm at Rainer Arms Firearms Academy for hunting purpose. I am on a non Immigrant visa holder and according to ATF itself I am eligible to purchase a firearm for hunting if I have a valid state issued Hunting License. I have all the documents required by ATF to prove the eligibility. But one employee ( I donΓÇÖt know if he owns the store) He was straight up rude and asking me do I have a green card, Permanent residence etc. I clearly mentioned to him my hunting license itself is a Non resident hunting license and I am a non immigrant. And He said he did not want to loose his FFL License by accepting me as a customer. I donΓÇÖt know why he had to say anything like that to me. To make me feel as if I am doing something illegal? Make me feel bad? I tried explaining him ATF regulations itself allows me to purchase a firearm for hunting. Still he rude. I know Firearms dealer has right to deny service. If he had explained or had a conversation in a good tone that he did not want to take a serve me as customer, I would have understood and just left the store with positive opinion. Just talking rude and making your customers feel bad doesnΓÇÖt make you tough in public.

I attended the concealed carry license training class. I have lived in 3 states in the last 20 years, so this was my third time going through this type of training. The class at Ranier Arms was by far the best instruction I have ever received. Our instructor, Mike, was incredible and his wealth of knowledge about firearms and the law benefited everyone in the class. I am looking forward to taking more classes in the future at Ranier Arms.

Never having gone to a range before my wife and I were quite apprehensive about going to a public range such as this. Too many times you see the macho image of a shooter and how it can be a bit overbearing. In this case I was up front as first timers and the staff there was quite helpful and made it easy to talk to them and ask questions, they made us feel at home. I was afraid of making a mistake and feeling like a fool but that was not the case at all. It was a great experience and an exciting time for both my wife and I. If ammo wasnΓÇÖt so expensive weΓÇÖd go back all the time. The staff was great there as we had lots of questions about an up coming Conceal and Carry course. I feel confident now about going through the class.
