Range 42 Norton

Today is the 5th time I've been hit w bounce back shrapnel from the traps. this time on my right temple. this place has known about shrapnel coming back and hitting patrons. YES, I was using eye & ear pro, and wearing proper range attire. NO it was not from my firearm, i hadnt even shot yet cuz i was still setting up in lane 6 w a sandbag. Sorry, but I will not use this range again due to the dangerous traps they use. The people that work there are great, but a dangerous range it is.

Not a great selection or prices on ammo. Pistol calibers and 22lr rifles only. Staff was nice. Okay range overall.

Went to the range today to shoot for about an hour, had to leave early because was being pelted by shrapnel ricochet from other shooter. One hit hard enough to draw blood, even though it hit my son through his shirt left abdomen. I was going do one more magazine but was pelted in the forehead Left quickly. Curious as to what would cause this. They were sizable pieces, at least 3. We were not firing when instances occured. They were using blazer ammo.

I go here all time. The service of Excellence with atmosphere of friendliness. Makes it easy to decide spend my money and go there to shoot and buy things. 1 reason though it is veteran owned!!!!!

Took the basic handgun training. It was very informative and the instructor was very knowledgeable. I would recommend this class to anyone wanting to learn gun safety and proper use.

Had class today with John at Range 42 in Norton/ Akron. He was a great instructor and was very clear on all the material in our basic handgun course. He made it easy to both learn and apply the material in the range. We left there very satisfied with our lesson. Great idea to implement the uscca options with Niko, whether or not you are to opt in for the membership - it is great to know of this resource for trainings and coverage for peace of mind. Overall great experience

Took the 8 hour ccw class at the akron location, great people. They all know their stuff, ive been around guns my whole life and i still learned a thing or two.

This is my go to from now on. Christian is extremely knowledgeable and is very patient with first time rifle owners. He showed me the process of cleaning my AR and answered every question I have. Good job Range 42

Took the CCW class. Very informative with excellent instructors who were patient and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend to anyone.

UPDATE: Ownership or whoever replies to these posts is a complete liar. They responded to my post indicating that they would no longer offer the self-defense insurance. Cool. Then someone else reviewed the company two weeks ago and complained about the same thing. Find somewhere else to take your handgun training lessons, and avoid the trashy sales pitch that NO BEGINNER WANTS OR NEEDS. Good gravy. My previous review was three stars, but because you clearly lied for everyone to see, IΓÇÖve given you the one star you deserve. I completed your pistol training class today, and I have only positive things to say about John, his knowledge, his personality, and his instruction. The same holds true for the other gentleman who assisted (Colton, I believe) as well as the other staff with whom I interacted. I learned an abundance of knowledge to build my confidence with my weapon. Much appreciation to John for his patience with all of new to our pistols. This next part has NOTHING to do with John. How are you going to hold a 2 hour pistol class and have someone from another company come in for nearly half an hour of that time to try to pedal self-defense insurance? Really? ThatΓÇÖs half an hour I paid for that should have been spent learning my weapon, my grip, my stance, how to come to the range and use the facility, etc. Instead, sheΓÇÖs trying to sell insurance to a class who is almost completely brand new to pistols who have no demonstrated intentions or want to use their pistol for self-defense. It was a waste of class time, and I suggest you find a better way. There is no place for this in a beginnerΓÇÖs course. Leave flyers for the class and be done with it. The class ran over approximately half an hour. Hmmm, I wonder why? Imagine how far it would have run over if the 5-6 other people would have shown up for the class and had questions or interest in the self-defense insurance. ItΓÇÖs Saturday. We all have lives, families, and plans, and several people traveled a decent distance to attend had to listen to her blab on and on. Advertise that youΓÇÖre doing this junk or leave it out of the program. It seemed in poor taste and was a disservice to time that could have been spent learning about our weapons. I was considering a CCW class at your location, but I hesitate wondering what commercial IΓÇÖm going to have to listen to when I should be getting the instruction for which I paid.

I've been going to this range for the past ten years. Went two months ago and it has really gone down hill. Range was dirty, not swept by previous customers, and at least half a dozen bullets had richochet back to our firing line - which indicates that the trap has not been maintained. The employees have always been friendly & helpful, but we are very hesitant to return now.

Took the Basic Handgun class with John and Collin. They both were exceptional instructors with a lot of patience. I appreciated JohnΓÇÖs humor and passion for the subject. I left feeling confident and eager to learn and practice more. I will say the self-defense insurance sales pitch felt out of place for a beginner class where the majority of students did not even own a gun.

The employee behind the counter was very knowledgeable, patient and kind. Although i had bad luck with the timing of my visit, they had just sold out earlier in the day of what i was wanting. The employee kindly let me know when it would be back in stock. Will definitely revisit Range 42.
