A: Do you need a FOID card to just try shooting at the range?
- Darlene Kreil (a year ago)
A: IΓÇÖd go check on the ISP website. I remember seeing there something about FOIDS expiring and whether or not they would deem it valid due to the pandemic. They are quicker now with it though. So you should be able to renew faster.

First time at range USA. Purchased elite membership. Returned next day to use range. Asked questions about ammo and employee said nothing and just pointed at the boxes and left. Asked about rental and same thing. No customer service , let alone people skills at all. Targets 4 for $6 , charged me double, $12 for 4 .

Took the conceal carry class here at Range USA, my instructor was Craig & he was phenomenal. Took the time to explain everything, assist those that were inexperienced & most of all had a class with every student passing. 100% recommended and enjoyed this experience!

We were visiting from OH, we were trying to look for something fun to do so we decided to go to the range. Waiver was ready when we were asked if we brought ammo with us. We were just trying to rent and buy ammo as we do in OH but it looks like in IL (we didnΓÇÖt knew) you need to have a permit-card something like that.

First time in the store I was excited to buy some parts for my hand gun as well as some range ammo. The moment I walked in nobody spoke, I also didnΓÇÖt get the assistance I needed. I did not feel welcomed and IΓÇÖm apart of law enforcement .

By far the worst staff. They never even have enough workers every time i go there. Be ready to wait at least an hour to even look at any forearm let alone get a rental or a lane . Does not matter the day.

I used to love coming to this gun range back when it was called Point Blank, I bought my first gun there, got my CCL, and had a membership. Over the years, I've brought countless friends and family members, sharing the joy of shooting in what used to be a welcoming environment. However, my recent visit to Range USA was nothing short of disappointing. First off, being located in Cook County already puts it at a disadvantage. The pricing is higher than average, and then there's the sting of additional taxes on every round - making shooting here noticeably more expensive. But today's experience showed me that they don't need their customers. I had a party of four, which isn't unusual for me; I've brought as many as six people before. I'm well aware of the range's rules - only two people are allowed inside the booth, but traditionally, others could stand in the back. This was never an issue until today. The "safety range officer" was anything but kind or professional. He was outright hostile, rude, and treated us like we were intruders. Despite never arguing or giving him any reason to mistreat us, he kicked my boy and me out of the booth. His demeanor was so unwelcoming and insulting that it completely soured my experience. I didn't say a word in response, yet his attitude was unnecessarily aggressive. Seven years ago, this place respected everyone who walked through its doors. It had a sense of community and care for its shooters. But today, under what seems like a new management or policy shift, Range USA has become just another corporate, impersonal entity. The warmth and camaraderie that used to define this range are gone, replaced by a cold, unfriendly atmosphere. I've just purchased a new membership today, but I'll be canceling it first thing Monday morning. There's no point in investing in a place where the staff treats paying customers like they're a nuisance. I'd rather drive out to Oswego to visit Buffalo Gun Range, where they care about their shooters. Range USA, with its location-based disadvantages, high costs, and now, unfriendly staff, has lost thier customer service. I hope they reconsider their approach to customer service and community engagement because right now, they're pushing people away rather than welcoming them into the shooting community. 2018 review: They treat you with respect! Newbie!? Not a problem! If you're humble enough, they'll take you from step one!
