I go here for all my range practice and courses. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I have taken the CCW course instructed by John, the holster course led by Chris, and the hand gun training led by Teddy. All instructors are knowledgeable in teaching the course they have taught. In Johns class he goes over a lot of different aspects of self defense, including in self defense shooting. ChrisΓÇÖ course covers the fundamentals of working with a holster and competition shooting, and finally TeddyΓÇÖs class went over the fundamentals of handling and operating a pistol. He covered proper grip, trigger manipulation, sight picture and sight acquisition, stance and posture, and finally predictive versus reactive shooting. The courses at face value sound like they may not be completely necessary but the information provided in the courses are valuable. Rankin Field is lucky to have these guys around.

IΓÇÖve been a member at Rankin Field since October and couldnΓÇÖt be happier with my experience. I completed my CCW training with John and just finished the training for access to range 2 with Teddy. Both instructors are outstandingΓÇöknowledgeable, patient, and always willing to answer all my questions. The level of professionalism and expertise they bring makes this place top-notch. Highly recommend Rankin Field, especially instructors John and Teddy!

I went in to get some extra practice for my qualifications and John and Ted took time out of their day to give me pointers and work with me one on one. Their extensive knowledge about weapons and target practice helped prepare me and build up my confidence. I passed my qualifications with no problem thanks to the guidance of Ted and John. Highly recommended both of them.

Double review bc this place is JUST THAT GOOD! Also, I forgot to mention you have to bring your own gun(s). Good news though! Ted LOVES to clean guns. And if you whisper, ΓÇ£Semper FiΓÇ¥ in his ear before you leave, heΓÇÖll totally do it for you for free!

HIGHLY recommend checking this place out. Sincerely, it is an oasis in the desert. RANGE: The range itself is spacious and offers a variety of shooting distances, making it perfect for both beginners and experienced shooters. Steel targets (for handguns only) are well-placed with various options: reactive and non. Overall layout is thoughtfully designed to accommodate different types of firearms and shooting styles. A wide variety of paper target options are available at the front as well for both handgun and rifle ranges. Downside might be only 100 yards for the rifle range. So if youΓÇÖre training to be Simo Hayha, either head over to Ukraine or maybe hike up to bureau of land management territory. Coyote is non-game. Just please, donΓÇÖt start a fire. STAFF: Front desk staff are extremely helpful and welcoming. The staff helped me get a new rifle bag, targets, day pass, and let me get rolling after my brief with Ted. I saw the staff interact with both first timers and members. For each interaction, they offered great service, astute knowledge, and clear instructions. If any of the team is unsure of an answer, they will find it for you. Whether experienced or noviceΓÇötheyΓÇÖll get you signed and briefed and rolling, or they will walk you through with clear instructions. It is a safe, exciting, and great place to experience. Superb hometown range.

Place is legit and a must I went for the first time and loved it which is why I bought the membership. Ken is also super helpful he knows his stuff.

Great weapon range! Friendly gentleman in the front getting you all geared up/checked in. Nice merchandise for sale and snacks and limited eye/ear gear. Really enjoyed the size / layout and protocol here. Clean, and well managed. Can't wait to get back out there.

Went there to buy ammo; they have it! They do have a limit per customer (sign of the times), but still. Competitive prices for my general area. Mature gal had misplaced her smile that day, but was professional. Young gal was a delight. 😁 (It's me, the Swedish guy😂).

Like this range a lot, but hit it up on a weekday not the weekend. Otherwise itΓÇÖs like waiting in line at Disneyland.

I LOVE this range. The people are friendly and the range space is nice, you are not cramped into small lanes like indoor or the other range in Visalia.

I was a bit nervous since this was my first time at the range and I read some of the past bad reviews. My experience was awesome; the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I was presented with options and given a brief walk through of facilities. I felt welcomed and left with the desire to come back. Because of the staffs courtesy, instructions, and hospitality I became a member and have Invited my family to come out with me in the future.

IΓÇÖve been coming to Rankin Field since 2015 but attended a CCW Renewal class here this weekend. Sam was the class instructor and did a phenomenal job. HeΓÇÖs very knowledgeable on every aspect of firearms and the laws surrounding CCW. The range facility is very nice and there are tons of firing lanes to accommodate large groups. The shooting lanes are covered with fans, and you can set your targets out pretty far to challenge yourself. IΓÇÖve seen some of the 1 star reviews they have, and have to say that those have got to be isolated or exaggerated incidents, the vibe here is pretty cool.

Myself and three others (who I don't know) pre-paid for and scheduled a CCW class. One guy was 3 minutes late and I walked in with two others who were 10 minutes late. The Instructor refused to teach the class because we were late. I bought and packed all the required items, had the day off work and had driven close to 40 miles only to be told the class is canceled because we were (a few minutes) late. Thinking about it on my drive back home; it is probably for the best. Obviously the Instructor was looking for excuses not to teach the Class. Who wants to be taught by someone who has lost their passion for teaching? This was my one and only experience with Ranklin Field. Therefore it is difficult to say this is indicative of their behavior. All I can say is my experience was poor, received a refund and am looking for another Class somewhere else.

They've got 6 pistol bays that are 25-30 yards deep, including one with a variety of steel targets. There is also a 100 yard rifle range. On the weekends, they have a variety of USPSA and IDPA competitions. Every gun owner in the valley should know this place!
