Questions & Answers

Q: Are they open today? Between fire risks and smoke we were debating about there or an indoor range?

A: Yes they are open and open tomorrow also

- Laura Flynn (3 years ago)

A: We are open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 8 AM until 4 PM. (As of 9/9/2023)

Q: Anyone know what size the steel gongs are at the 400-700yrd range?

A: 14" X 14"

- Regional Shooting Facility (a year ago)

Q: Is the non lead copper bullet requirement still in play? Thanks!

A: I donΓÇÖt know of this ever being a rule at this range. Steel core ammo cannot be shot at steel targets but is fine for paper. Lead core (and solid copper) is fine for steel.

- Warren Randall (6 years ago)

A: Usually they allow lead core if your shooting on paper and you let them know. They don't allow impacts on the steel targets.

- Tyler Henning (7 years ago)

A: Both of those answers are correct ☝️. We just don't want steel on steel due to a spark risk. Steel on paper or dirt are totally acceptable. Come on out and get your trigger press on.

- Regional Shooting Facility (a year ago)

Q: Is there a chronograph at the range?

A: Yes! The new Garmin one.

- Regional Shooting Facility (2 months ago)

Q: Is shooting from holster allowed? IE: practicing concealed carry draw/shoot

A: Sort of. Check with the RSO. They'll have you move to the end of the firing line (no shade).

- Frank Raynolds (5 months ago)

Q: Do you have trapshooting facilities?

A: Hello Clare , Not at this time , but we are actively working to build berms in order to bring it in! Stay tuned

- Regional Shooting Facility (6 months ago)

A: No. Just pistol and rifle ranges.

- Frank Raynolds (6 months ago)

Q: Whats the price

A: 10.00 and I was there 2 hours

- Itsme Itsme (10 months ago)

Q: As a new gun owner what do I need to shoot there

A: Very easy…. Park in the parking lot, goto the range master booth to checkin and pay the minimal shooting fee. The range master will assign you to a shooting table. The range is ‘hot’, shooting for 20 minutes, and ‘cold’ servicing and setting up targets for 10 minutes. During the cold time, you are not allowed at your shooting table and not allowed to handle your rifle. When the range is cold, you stand behind the yellow line, away from your shooting table, until everyone has returned and

- Larry Scott (a year ago)

A: During cold weather, a large towel or small blanket to put on your rifle table, a rifle mount or stand for sighting in a scope, targets(but the range will supply if needed, for a fee), standard safety glasses and ear protection, and most importantly safety. The Range Masters are excellent and so are seasoned regulars there if you have questions. I usually bring my roller tool kit, it has my ammo, small tools, gloves, rifle stand, small sand bags, loaders, and miscellaneous stuff. There's a cycle of "Hot" & "Cold" Range is open to fire and target setup.

- Rodney Banis (a year ago)

Q: Are there military discounts for current military (Active Duty, Reserves, National Guard?)

A: The county does not have anything in place at this point for military discounts at this facility. Seniors and Junior discounted rates are all at this point in time.

Updating my review for 2025. The last time I went to this range was back in 2019 and under the old management it was pretty awful but since then it has gotten new management and its a much more pleasant experience. The RSO was pretty chill and helpful and you can now pay with card which is a nice addition. I'd say if you were burned in the past definitely give this range another try with these guys its a totally different experience.

Best shooting range in the area. Great selection of targets, good amenities, and the rules are reasonable and enforced consistently. BRANDON, the RSO, is super friendly and knowledgeable. Me and my friend(s) go here about once month since the change of ownership, and have had a good time, every time.

Awesome range. Staff is great. No fudd rules. Just donΓÇÖt be an idiot, be safe, and they wonΓÇÖt bother you. No rules about rapid fire, no hassling about asking to see tax stamps for NFA items. Just keep your muzzle down range, show clear during the target setups, and donΓÇÖt flag the line. If youΓÇÖre less experienced, just be safe and the staff will likely give you some pointers. The range itself is awesome. Target stands at 10,25,50,100, and 200 for paper targets. You can also setup targets at any range in between 10-200 with the steel target stands. Just bring or buy some paper targets at the range. Everything else is provided. Steel targets every 50 yards from 300-750, including smaller and larger targets at a lot of distances.

Regional shooting facility is my favorite shooting range in Northern, NV. Plenty of lanes for short and mid range shooting. 1k yard range for those who dare. Knowledgeable friendly owners & staff. Great prices and alot of fun.

It's $15 per shooter, but you CAN rent muffs and a spotting scope. They of course have a RSO. They also have good sized boards for targets.

Came out here for the first time to get my CCW and the class Scott taught was very well put together and very informative! Answered all questions and was very patient and cool! Loved the outdoor range and loved that i could actually learn a few things and know that they were there to help if i had issues or if i needed to improve on my stance or my shot placement. Will definitely be coming back and recommending the CCW class and range to everyone i know! Thanks Again! Looking forward to coming back!

I now enjoy going out there. Great improvement from the old management. Great bunch of guys, very friendly and outgoing. They even got hot cocoa on those cold winter mornings.

The new owners are great. The new range safety officers are great. The new prone pads are great. They added a popcorn machine. The only thing missing is 1 MOA targets at every gong out to 1000 and then they win. Once that do that IΓÇÖm buying everyone who works there a best dad mug.

Makala and Scott run and operate the Regional Shooting Facility with nothing but knowledge, care, and support for those new to firearms and those skilled in using them. There has not been a visit I've had from a day at the range, to earning my CCW qualifications, where I didn't feel like I was surrounded by family and people I could trust to ensure I walked away with greater skill and knowledge than I had walked in with.

I recently visited the Regional Shooting Facility in Washoe County, NV, one of the two locations of Nevada Fire Arms, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. Despite not having shot a firearm in 8 years, the staff made us feel like family. They were not only friendly but incredibly engaging and helpful. The outdoor shooting range is impeccably clean, organized, and safe, which put me at ease throughout the visit. A special shoutout to the range masters, Zach and Tom, who were fantastic. Their professionalism and dedication to safety made the experience even better. If you're looking for a fun and safe time shooting, look no further than Nevada Fire Arms. I will definitely be back to enjoy more good times. Thank you to all the staff, including those I didn't mention. You truly made it a special time!

The old range master, rude, makes you uncomfortable. New staff, amazing, while still running a safe range. I stopped going years ago due to the old range master. Now I'm going back, also glad to see an area for prone shooting now set up!

I went to test for my ccw certification and was blown away with how much fun I had in an 8 hour class. I don't know if anybody looks forward to an 8 hour class but I would do it all over again. I learned way more than I had expected! These human beings are phenomenal, knowledgeable, and bad*** trainers!! You won't find a better group of people teaching you the most important lessons on how to handle a gun.
