RifleGear The Colony, TX

Q: How much are lanes here, I can't get in contact with anyone and there is no information online
A: Apologies our website is having some issues. 25 yard lanes are $20 per hour. 100 yard lanes are $30 per hour. We only enforce the hour rule when there is a waitlist behind current shooters.
- RifleGear The Colony, TX (7 months ago)
A: I think $35 Per hour.

Q: Can you bring your own guns and armo to the range
A: Of course you can, as long as you do not bring steel core or bi metal jacket (steel jacket) ammo, which we do not allow on the range.

Q: Green tip ammo allowed here? Their website says no armor piercing ammo, but it isn't clear if green tip falls into that category. I called and they said green tip is NOT allowed. So assume that clears this up.
A: Green tip is not armor piercing. As long as the bullet is not steel you are good. Must pass a magnet test

Q: so if I want to rent a handgun, I have to be with another person thats shooting? I can't rent alone?
A: If you bring at least one of your own guns with you, you can rent a gun and shoot alone. What we don't allow is an individual with no firearms to come and rent a gun and shoot alone. This is a suicide prevention policy.
- RifleGear The Colony, TX (a year ago)

I quickly became a loyal client because of the service they provide, since the first day I came here Andre, Gabe were super helpful and answered all my questions. After that, I decided to take a class with Dakota and let me tell yall. The experience was nothing but amazing, he takes the time to explain everything in detail and answers all the questions people might have and the best thing is that even after the class he still provide you with a contact information just in case any further questions came along. I have to say every member of the staff here is phenomenal theyΓÇÖre always willing to help out. Yall keep the great job guys. I would give 10 stars if I could.

Great place to buy a gun or go to the range! Make sure you scan the wait list code if wanting to purchase. Many people donΓÇÖt see that and think they are being ignored. And the racism claims ive been seeing are laughable donΓÇÖt believe that BS.

Had the opportunity to speak with a gentleman named Tyler today. Very glad I did. My primary visit was to get some help with a suppressor problem I was having and Tyler was able to get that worked out instantly. My secondary reason for the visit was to get some knowledgeable feedback on a decision I was struggling with regarding which suppressor to go with given my needs, wants, budget and primary application. I have to admit I came in leaning to one side but in a way where I knew IΓÇÖd love the decision in the short run but high risk of regretting it in the long run. After having a solid conversation with Tyler, who clearly understood what I was thinking and had the experience to provide a diverse range of questions and thoughts to help me realize what the difference between my wants and needs were and I always love dealing with people who can focus on the need of a client. Long story short, I walked out with a fixed suppressor and a promise to return to buy not one but two suppressors later in the week. Very glad I spoke with Tyler.

Edtied: used to be good now they skip you for most important people that just walk in the door. Even if you have checked in. Make you wait in line to say your gunsmith services are not ready.

I've had three recent experiences at RifleGear, one retail and two with the range. On the retail visit I was immediately greeted and helped. I purchased a shotgun, and the whole process took about 30 minutes and was painless. Thanks to Tyler for a great experience and for answering all of my questions. I didn't need to check in, but the check in computer is right in front of the door and clearly marked. I wasn't aware that the check in was for retail and that for range-related things, like training, you check in over at the range corner. I took the new shotgun to the range for an initial checkout. The folks at the range greeted me, made sure I knew how to do the electronic range waiver, and got me checked in. The range experience was great, and when I encountered an oddity with the particular shotgun I had, the range master worked with me to figure out what was going on. Third experience: spent an hour with Devin on the range for handgun checkout and TLC prep. Devin is an excellent instructor, has serious experience doing this, and his style is to adapt to the students needs and skill level. He got me leveled up on safety and range rules, checked me out on the specific gun I was using, then pretty quickly assessed my abilities and spent probably the last half hour working with me on a slight pulling to the side issue I apparently have. This hour long checkout was worth about a week of classes and I had a great time. This is a really nice place, the staff and management are great, and we're lucky to have it in the area.

Man, Andre is one of the best employees IΓÇÖve had the chance to interact with. He was so knowledgeable and really helped me to hone in my skills when it comes to shooting. IΓÇÖd definitely go back again with hopes that he can work with me again to ensure I leave with even more skills than I came in with. 10/10 would go back to Rifle Gear again not only for the shooting experience but also for the community of well rounded employees and customers

Tyler, you rock man! I was initially taken back by compliance procedures, I didnt understand delays and the like. Tyler has gone out of his way to explain things, he even popped my muzzle devices off at no charge. I cant recommend this place enough, yeah you may have to wait a bit... Small price to pay for all the rest being so great. Keep up the great work, Tyler... You and your coworkers are appreciated, at least by this customer. Thanks again!

Had an amazing experience with the sales team and the range staff. Went in to purchase and shoot and left a happy owner. The sales set up was quick and efficient. I was immediately greeted and then signed in up front for a waitlist to talk with a rep meanwhile you can look around explore etc. the wait was quick and we had a staffer Mark who answered numerous questions helped us narrow down selection based on our budget and desire etc. we left fully equipped. He wasnΓÇÖt pushy and was very professional. The same for the range staff, they helped us in finding firearms similar to what we wanted to purchase and were again professional and friendly. The range itself is high quality clean and efficient. CanΓÇÖt wait to go back.

The range is clean and seems well ventilated. The lane rentals are the cheapest in the area and you get a free target. Controlled rapid fire is allowed. You can use rifles in the 25 yard lanes. The downsides: sometimes the targets hang low, so you basically can't shoot the bullseyes at the bottom or you'll hit the floor. Also there's always a wait on the weekends to get a lane. Sales wise - the service is a little unconventional in that you're expected to sign in to a queue on the laptop when you enter and roam around while you wait your turn. This might throw off new visitors, explaining the low reviews you see.

The range is great. Staff are very helpful. But the place seems really under staffed, because I've never been in and out without sitting around waiting on someone to help me for an hour. This includes pickup orders. I live 5 minutes away, and have just given up shopping here - I'll order parts or mags online or drive 20 minutes to a shop where I don't have to just sit around waiting for help. Even pickup orders. I got so frustrated I timed it last time, and it was 65 minutes to pick up my 'ready' and paid for pick up order. But the range always gets people in and out in super quick order, great indoor range.
