Q: Do they have someone that can sight in a rifle.
A: Yes
- Shannon Smith (7 years ago)
A: Yes.
- Jim Mangini (7 years ago)
Q: Do we buy bullets there or can we bring our own bullets
A: I always bring my own. Never tried to buy ammo there so i am not sure that ammo is sold there. You can buy paper targets there for a quarter a piece, i have done that lots of times.
- Herbert Davis (5 years ago)
A: As far as I know most outdoor ranges don't sell ammo and most indoor ranges do
- brian snyder (5 years ago)
A: Recently, they DID have some ammo. in fact, the box of 50 - 380cal was cheaper than Bass Pro. If they have any, they price is very competitive. I would call before you make a trip to a local gun shop and pay $27 for 50 when, the range may have it for $22.
- Bryan Smith (3 years ago)
A: Need to bring your own.
- James Duffy (5 years ago)
Q: To they allow bi-metal tulammo on days where they ban steelcore ammo?
A: Give the office a call and ask for the Rangemaster.
- RT Kerr (5 years ago)
Q: Farthest yardage to shoot??
A: 600 yards. Their website gives a pretty good description of the available ranges. Some of their ranges are only open to members once certified to use the range.
- Herbert Davis (6 years ago)
A: 300 yes on the main range
- Scott XX (6 years ago)
A: On the member range, when there's not a match in progress, I imagine you can get 1000 yards or maybe a little bit more
- cody pace (6 years ago)
A: Believe the have 1000 yards on the member range
- J Michael (6 years ago)
Q: What are the requirements for under age shooters? Could they shoot with a guardian? Can a grandparent classify as a guardian?
A: You have to get parental/guardian consent signature on the release of liability form.
- Judson Seal (6 years ago)
Q: Are you guys open?
A: Range closes at 5pm. There is a pistol caliber anything match tomorrow on July 4th in the morning check the website or the Facebook page Tuesday night Steel
- A. Schultz (6 years ago)
Q: can i bring my own steel plates?
A: No. Public Range has permanent steel at 200 and 300 yards. Paper targets (no facial features) can be set at 11, 25, 50, 100, and 200.
- Urbane Cowboy (3 months ago)

IΓÇÖve been going to this range for many years. It has recently increased its rules and has been more strict but I think itΓÇÖs still a great place to practice.

Kicked me off the range for shooting steel jacketed ammo when there's no signs or literature that says that steel jacket ammo is not allowed. They cited that since it tracks to a magnet that's banned, but that is not what their signs say. They say steel tipped or steel core ammo NOT steel jacketed ammo. There was no penetrator but they still kicked me off for no good reason. They have allowed steel jacketed ammo for decades, but suddenly they don't want it anymore even though it does not cause any more of a fire risk than any other type of ammo. Their range officers were professional, I am merely protesting the hyper paranoid, nonsensical, and unwritten rule change. Especially since with every shot from every firearm in existence, a shower of embers comes out of every barrel. This is self-evident if you've ever shot near dusk or at night. They will have to start banning any weapons that use an ignition source soon with these paranoid rules, and it'll become an air gun only range.

Great range. The range officers can be grumpy though. I understand safety but you don't have to be an ass about it. They totally berated a guy for minimal interaction which passed no threat

They just installed new benches. Excellent workmanship and beautiful however. The stone tables didnΓÇÖt shake and seemed like they would last an eternity. Problem lies in using a spotting scope, if itΓÇÖs not busy and someone is spotting for you they can probably use a bench next to yours so the recoil doesnΓÇÖt make the image non viewable at the most critical time

Was a nice range until they stopped allowing steel ammo, which defeats half the purpose of going to an outdoor range.

A MUST DO! In Arizona for our Son's Wedding and I had extra time and searched for things to do near Gilbert Arizona. If you like to shoot and you don't have any of your own gear, no worries they got you covered completely. Unreal facility, claen, huge and a Professional and polite staff, especially Jessica. She hooked me up with a Weatherby 12ga and my style of shells, loaded my clay card and after an Instruction off I went. This place is Awesome push your cart to the next shooting spot and blow up some clays. Had so much fun called our Son and Best man to join me. We all loved it. And I will be returning tomorrow to complete the Sporting Clay course. Safety unbelievable low cost and a Killah setup don't miss it if your ever in the Phoenix area you will love it. Usually a great place to shoot. However today they were so busy we went to shoot pistols and came back to the trap range. The lady decided to close the office at 4:30 (not posted anywhere nor did she tell us ) but the range is open till 5. We got there at 4:32 and the lady wouldnΓÇÖt sell us 2 rounds of trap. Drove an hour to shoot, and her attitude wasnΓÇÖt what IΓÇÖm sure the owners expect. Why stay open till 5 if the office closes at 4:30?

For us Canadians, this range is becoming one of our go to places to shoot in Arizona. We were just down for our second year shooting the SMM3G Match and were blown away AGAIN by how great the range staff are. The staff runs a tight ship and safety is paramount, the public range has a large shooting line, and the professional RO's do a great job of running it. We as a shooting community are better for having a range like this with its dedicated staff - views aren't bad either!

Rio Salado Sportsman's Club hosted the World Field Target Matches over the weekend of November 13 to 16. It is the pinnacle of the yearly Field Target calendar. Field Target is one of the most technical and difficult of all shooting sports. Ballistically equivalent to shooting at Cantaloupe sizes targets at unknown ranges between 60 and 350 yards, but scaled down to match quality airguns. Excellent venue, excellent organization, and excellent personnel made the US proud among the nearly 50 countries that for the Federation. Thanks Rio Salado for an excellent and we'll run event.
