RVSSA

Q: What's the cost.
A: $40 for family
- Tony Quil (a year ago)
A: Annual single shooter is $20. Not sure what the family rate is.
- Josh Morell (3 years ago)
A: $5 per shooter or they have annual membership
- Josh B (6 years ago)
Q: How long is the range? Can I bring my Precision Ruger 300 PCR and shoot 1000+ yards? Whats the furthest target?
A: Not at this site. I believe the range you speak of is nearby and only open a day or two each week. Plus, they have a saftey process one must go through to shoot there. Me, I have a secret spot on BLM land that I use for 1000+ yards...

Q: Is it open today
A: Yes

ItΓÇÖs pretty rare that I leave a bad review on places.. But with my past few experiences here, I believe that it is justified. Overall, the range is great well kept and not a whole lot of issues with shooting. But when you pay at the gate, the old man is super rude and annoying. Every time I come here, I have issues with him. Definitely need to get that guy out of there and replace him. Will not be coming back until that guy is gone.

Nice range, no problems. Was little concerned by all the negative reviews but not my experience. Spent about 4-5 hours shooting handguns, a few people came and went on the range with me but no one was un-safe or bothersome. Will be going back more frequently, may update review if needed but honestly seems like a great range.

2 star range at best. Range officers fail to check lanes and miss most of the usafe actions that occur out there. Having to provide a drivers license to borrow a target stand is rediculous and is dependent on who you are. Hopefully they clean up their act in the future.

I showed up to the range at 5:55PM to tune my rifle. I knew the range closes at 7 PM so I figured I should start cleaning up my spot around 6:50PM. As I was walking my shots to the bullseye the old man at the gate rolls up in his truck and tells me to to start wrapping up. I finish a few more shots, he comes back and says the range is closed. I grab my phone out my pocket and see it is 6:30PM!!! I was one of the two shooters in the whole place.

Most of the volunteers who work there are great except for a couple of them - most notably the old man with several missing teeth and a tiny little dog who was working this evening (Sunday) he is there quite a bit and I held back from writing a negative review until now. He is incredibly rude to visitors and I have heard him say some extremely racist/sexist things that are completely uncalled for and unnecessary. He needs to be removed from any position that requires interaction with customers/visitors. I used to donate to RVSSA but will contribute to other ranges (Josephine, Ashland, etc) until this person is permanently removed as a volunteer. I am not the only one who feels this way either, several people have complained about him and nothing has been done about it.

Good Range had zero issues only thing I would change is to allow steel targets. This was my first time here and for 90% of the time it was just my buddy and I when we had someone else show up they were very polite

I've been frequenting this range for 10 years. I've noticed in the last 2-3 years the increasingly lackadaisical behavior from patrons and range officers in regards to general gun safety rules. I typically purchase a range pass every year, but due to the lack of safety I no longer will be doing so. It's unfortunate, that I and others feel safer shooting in the woods than this range.

Went to the range today to go shooting with my kids and a friend from work as soon as we got there there were two other people at the same range that just kept bothering us annoying us making rude comments went to the front office to complain about them and see if there's anything they can do this old guy came up and a car and started chewing us out while befriending the people that were bothering us started going on about these ridiculous rules and saying that my target which was all plastic except for the steaks to put in the ground I couldn't use because there was metal on the target the middle is in the ground I'm not shooting at the ground

Nice place to go shooting, there could be a little better upkeep on the trap range, but overall for a county park it is great. IΓÇÖve used the long range big bore range, the handgun range and the trap range. CanΓÇÖt beet the price. I would recommend for a safe place to shoot.

Not a bad range they accommodate everything and it's very reasonable. There were four big fat turkeys there when I got there sorry I disturbed their peace.

Tried to go after work today (Friday) and they closed the gate at 4:35pm. Sunset today is at 5:39. I appreciate the volunteers but not happy about driving all the way there to test a new bullet/load and they closed early on a gorgeous day. I am a regular that buys an annual pass each year...

The Jackson county outdoor gun range is a great place to get some Target practice. They have pretty nice facilities there, and it is definitely a good value for membership. They have pistol and rifle, and shotgun, and even archery ranges available. I would definitely recommend stopping by, the next time your trigger finger gets itchy!

Please be careful at this public range. Safety officer is a rare sighting on the ranges. Our last two visits to the range have been cut short do to other shooters not observing basic range safety. We asked the couple today to not handle their firearms while people were down range when the range was called cold. They told us to mind our business and hurry up with target changes. We just picked up and moved.

I was a little sceptical having read some of the negative feedback. That was not my experience. I barrowed a stand and staple gun to set up. I went early when it was still cool outside and really had a good time.

horrible gun range. officers are rude they think they own the place there are a couple that are friendly. they seem to always close at random hours they open whenever they feel like it. got yelled at for picking up my own brass in which I reload myself. you try to tell them about people being unsafe and they say we cant do anything about that but then my wife is laying her head in a table with no gun near here my table had my rifle and had the mag and bolt pulled and i get threatened to be kicked out cause she cant be over the line during clear. it used to be a good range now its just old guys with control issues. sorry to say will not go back here anymore until they get some better range officers.
