Saddle & Sirloin Club of KC

Q: do you guys accept volunteers?
A: You would have to call to find out for sure. They don't normally need volunteers because they have staff that are constantly there.

Q: Do I need my own horse?
A: I am fairly certain that if you want to ride then you do need your own horse. That is unless you're friends with a member who is willing to let you ride theirs.

I recently attended a bridal shower and whilst I understand that due to the pandemic the menu has been changed, I certainly didn't expect each guest to be given a "to-go" bag containing a sandwich and very small packet of chips when platters has been ordered at $15 a head. We also ordered some vegetarian salads (the only option for vegan guests) these were presented in plastic to go containers with plastic forks -$20 each. Disgraceful! Although the change of menu was discussed immediately prior to the shower a $150 cancelation fee would have been imposed on the member who made the booking despite the venue being unwilling to provide the service originally booked. I will never recommend this place.

I was signed up to have lessons, and had already paid for the lesson (60$) when my trainer texted me and rescheduled for next week. Same thing happend next week, and the next. Eventually I called the trainer to discuss what was going on, and she said that she was currently in urgent care because of heat stroke (it was summer). I then hung up the phone and called her boss, she had no idea of the incident, and said the trainer was perfectly fine. I eventually became fed up with the stable and asked for a refund, they said yes. ItΓÇÖs been a couple months now and I still havenΓÇÖt gotten my refund. I now ride at sunset stables and it has amazing staff, itΓÇÖs cheaper, and itΓÇÖs all on 26 acres full of riding trails, plus indoor and outdoor arenas. They teach both English and western.

Private equestrian and Shooting Sport's facility with a fantastic clubhouse and food. Tons of trails. Gorgeous landscaping. Indoor and outdoor riding arena's. The clubhouse has a great chef and staff. The bar is comfortable and has large screen TV's for your game watching. That all said, the Shooting Sport's side of the club is my favorite. They have skeet, trap, wobble trap, 5 stand, a Sporting Clays course and even an archery lane. This place is just outstanding!!!

This is THE number one horse club and stable in Kansas City. Their new location near Martin City is located on over 350 acres with trails, stables, pastures, and turnouts for 150 horses. There are covered and outdoor arenas along with a professional staff to tend to the horses. Deer roam the property in the evenings. The sound of cicadas and locusts cover the treed main house/bar/restaurant. For dinner, we had tilapia, all you can eat and peel, shrimp and sirloin. Everyone enjoyed the meal accompanied with a nice selection of wines. I loved the country and western interior.

The Saddle and Sirloin Clay Target Shooting range is, in my opinion, the friendliest, nicest and best manicured range in the KC area. I have shot all the ranges/courses in the metro area-this is my favorite. The grounds are impeccably maintained, the Trap and Skeet ranges throw perfect targets. The 5-stand has great presentations with true flying targets and walk-through sporting clays range is a hoot and the platform wobble trap is perfect for new shooters just getting started with clay shooting. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you do not have a club membership with S&S, Carriage Club, or the KC Club , the prices are a little higher (like a $1 or two) than average prices around the area, but compared to a box of shells these days....noise level difference. Try it. You'll be impressed
