How do I make an appointment to use the range?

This place is great. ItΓÇÖs by appointment only but you get the whole shooting range to yourself. You only get a two hour slot but itΓÇÖs plenty of time. I brought my little sister and my mom here for my sisterΓÇÖs birthday. They had a blast. There is a variety of targets you can shoot at including metal plates and even fire extinguishers. 5.56 ammo is allowed, even on the metal plates. Definitely will be back.

Savage Outdoor & Defense was great! There were lots of targets to choose from ranging from steel plates, fire hydrants, metal barrels, and plain olΓÇÖ paper targets. Shane (the owner) was friendly, coordinated well, and made the whole process as seamless as possible. I can confidently say that I will be a returning customer!

Shane was a really cool guy he explained everything to me and my dad and also went as far to let me borrow one of his personal firearm mag since I was in a rush and forgot mines the range is also super cool besides the fact you get the whole place to your self for 2 hours you got steel targets and your own paper targets definitely going back soon

Fantastic range! Shane is an incredible host and his prices are almost too fair. Has fun add-ons like fire extinguishers to shoot and steel targets. When I went, we could rent out the range for 2 hours and be completely by ourselves (with Shane supervising of course). No restrictions on caliber or ammo types except for the steel targets obviously. Will definitely come back.

Booked range time for a Saturday morning and Shane was super helpful in setting it up and making us feel welcome. Highly recommend and we'll be returning for sure.

Even though the weather was less than perfect my two sons and I had a great time. A popup canopy was provided. Weapon selection was great as were the prices. If my son's end up Aggies I will definitely be back.

An outstanding range. The staff is welcoming and warm. Facility is well maintained and has a wide range of rentals, and target options. This is a great location to take a group of any size to learn and practice operating firearms.

It sucked. And just found out the instructor is a fraud. He insists on using "friends and family" instead of "goods and services" on PayPal so that he won't be held liable for not providing services as described online. We were a group of three. The instructor gave us a 5 min rundown of how to load the guns(3) and put the safety on. We went to go shoot and almost had 2 accidents while he was sitting in his truck. We had to keep running back to ask for assistance. It was not at all as described online. Needless to say, would not recommend.

I have been to this gun range many times now and will not go anywhere else from now on. I love that when I book range time I get the whole range to myself. Shane is always readily available to answer my questions if needed, but gives me the space to use without intervention. I also took my LTC shooting qualification with Shane. The process was quick and easy. He knows a lot about guns and has some cool techniques to share. I was planning to take my girlfriend for a range day here just for some shooting time, but instead I decided to book a lesson with Shane to show her the fundamentals since it would be her first time. The instruction he gave is well worth the time and IΓÇÖm glad I booked this session. He is very personable and made her feel comfortable with the gun before ever loading it. At the end of the session she loved it and was loading her own mags and hitting the steel targets consistently. My only complaint is that she probably shoots better than me now after the lesson. Highly recommend.

I wouldnΓÇÖt consider myself a particularly gun-savvy person, but I always have a good time here. ItΓÇÖs the only place IΓÇÖve tried, and I have no intent of trying anywhere else. This has to be the best outdoor range in town. ItΓÇÖs open to reservations 7 days a week. There are paper targets, bowling pins, fire extinguishers, and plenty of steel to shoot at. He also has ammo you can purchase, as well as a good selection of firearms available for rent. ThereΓÇÖs even cannons you can set off, if you dare! IΓÇÖve added a slow motion video of a friend shooting a fire extinguisher with the 44 Magnum revolver we rented. What a great way to end our visit!

We are regular customers of Shane Savage. He is super responsive, and reserving the range is always a breeze. Savage Outdoor & Defense range is an excellent place to zero your firearms (red dot or iron sight) or send rounds down range with friends. I have never had a bad day shooting in this location. I highly recommend this facility!

I've met Shane at this range several times now. Please keep in mind that this a closed range to yourself/and your group and the rates are very reasonable. He has additional targets, tables, fire extinguishers bowling pins, etc. You are provided a wheeled cart you can carry to the pistol or rifle range to help move firearms or your range bag. Shawn also offers personal instruction if needed at a fair price.

I've had nothing but good experiences with this range from booking the sessions to the range time itself. I definitely recommend this if you are in the Brian/College Station area.

By far the best range in the area. The range officer is an awesome guy and always extremely helpful. The prices and the amenities offered are an incredible deal as well. If youΓÇÖre a new shooter or you have any questions at all - Shane is there and available the entire time. I highly recommend this range for first time shooters and new shooters because you and the range officer are the only ones there. It would be a MUCH BETTER idea to learn how to shoot at this range 1 on 1 under the guidance of an NRA certified instructor like Shane - then to go to one of the short distance indoor ranges where you are sharing a small space with 5 other shooters. If you want to learn how to shoot, Savage is where you want to go. For experienced shooters you can basically just check in and then itΓÇÖs pretty much self service unless you need something. (Awesome) Even if youΓÇÖre already very experienced and you just want to sight in your rifle before deer season or just plink some of the included steel targets - this range is one of the best kept secrets in town. 10 stars.

Great place to take a beginner to show them how to shoot. Have gone three times now, had the whole place to ourselves. I taught my wife and a friend the basics of firearm handling and safety, and we've had a great experience every time we've gone. Mr. Savage is very helpful, offering tools when you forget yours and an optic comes loose. Very unimposing, we barely knew he was there as he just let us to enjoy our range time. Best range experience I've had anywhere. Highly recommend Savage Outdoor & Defense. No BS to put up with like the indoor goofballs, just a great place to go squeeze off a few with friends.

What can I say, but perfection. A shooters bliss. You get a 2 hour range all to yourself for a great price. Not only that you can buy stuff like fire extinguishers and other things to shoot at. This is where you go to shoot in peace. Get more comfortable with any weapons you have without onlookers. Like golfing on Pebble Beach by yourself, but with a rifle and the ball is the target. You won't regret getting away from it all and having 2 hours to yourself (with a safety range guy nearby who is awesome and friendly) and having an entire range for pistols, rifles, and shotguns to yourself. Hidden gem of a shooters paradise in the BCS area.

Savage Outdoor & Defense was a perfect range for my husband and I to go out and blow off some steam! Mr. Savage was super kind and helpful, and has a great setup. Perfect size for some fun at the range. Great pricing, location closer to town, good options.

Always super prompt to respond! Public range is done by appointment only so its just you and your group there. Honestly really want to give this place a low rating to keep my favorite spot hidden😂

Best outdoor shooting range in the Bryan/College Station area. I can't recommend visiting this range enough. Public range is made by appointment so you have the whole range to yourself and the owner was VERY accommodating with my schedule as a college student. They recently got $2 fire extinguishers that are really fun to shoot at. On top of this great deal, you can get 3 for $5. Thank you Shane for the great experience. I will be coming back for many more wonderful gun range sessions.

Great range to have fun with the boys or family Great atmosphere. The owner is an Great guy and loves to see people with smiles on their face. This range offers steel targets for rifle and pistol while distance is only at 50 yards right now. This range is still one of the better locally owned places to go. Deffinantly would recommend to anyone wanting to improve marksmanship, get some practice or just wanting to learn about firearms and get a feel. Can't wait for the next time I can go back!!!

Don't waste your time....at any other range! I've been to all the other ranges and this is probably the most fun for your money. Really good customer service and prices. Will unfortunately be coming back more often than I should. Wooooooo

This range is the best range I've been to, the owner is an amazing person, who is always willing to find an open time for me and my friends to go, even if it is very last minute. All in all, outstanding!
