Sentry Defense

If I could give this establishment 0 starts I would. I had an extremely uncomfortable and disappointing experience at this gun range. From the moment we walked in, we were met with rude stares instead of a proper greeting. Rather than welcoming us, the employee immediately commented that we ΓÇ£looked unsure about ourselvesΓÇ¥ when, in reality, we were simply confused by the lack of professionalism and hospitality. Things only got worse from there. When my boyfriend stepped outside to retrieve his weapon, as requested, the employee took it upon himself to question me about how I knew him and where we met. When I asked why that was relevant, he responded that my boyfriend ΓÇ£looked sketchyΓÇ¥ an unnecessary and offensive remark. Once my boyfriend returned, the interrogation continued, with invasive questions about his identity and even the clothes he was wearing. At that point, I was asked to sign a safety waiver, but I refused. I see no reason to spend money at an establishment where basic respect and decency arenΓÇÖt given. If a simple ΓÇ£helloΓÇ¥ is too much to expect, I canΓÇÖt imagine how they treat their customers beyond first impressions. Save your money and support businesses that value all their patrons equally.

Brought my menΓÇÖs group here on a Saturday night and the comprehensive service, professionalism, and overall enjoyment of someone who has very little shooting experience was phenomenal. The facility is great, felt very safe, and was provided all the equipment necessary to feel confident shooting pistols and rifles.

Great people, very safe all staff are very knowledgeable about firearms and if you are not sure about something just ask , they won’t judge you, they would rather you ask and be safe and take that with you!! Love this place!! They keep growing and adding more items for your needs ,this place changed my life for the better because of the people !! They are all great but most importantly is the knowledge and care they take to meet any of your firearms needs and you can take classes, concealed carry and home to one of the best shooters in the United States ( Brandon Elias ) !! Also the guys behind the counter are amazing at explaining and making sure you are safe first but leave you confident in your firearm and your ability to use it! 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏thank you Austin , Brant and Evan. This is a nice place and the staff are knowledgeable and safety conscious. I appreciate their observations and recommendations for improvement. Make sure your ammo is brass and not steel and you wear hearing protection.

This is the place to go! Took my husband here for his birthday, and it was our first time shooting. Jacob and the crew were fantastic. Jacob took his time making sure we were well informed, comfortable with our selections and, most of all, having a great time. I would give 6 stars if possible.

Instructor, Dalton, did well. But I would not recommend Concealed Carry training here. (1) The class started with a 55 minute pitch from an insurance salesman. Not what I paid for! (2) Sentry offers fingerprinting needed for LA permit. I specifically asked if "mail in card prints" would slow down the permitting process. Sentry said no. When I later got on the state website, it plainly stated that mail in cards take "significantly" longer to process. Overall, Sentry has "wood to chop" before I would rate as satisfactory.

February 16 approximately 1pm , Two Associates and I went to Sentry and I Had a White ARP. Your employee checked ammo and looked at firearms said were cleared and everything checks out. I grabbed my associates ammo and gave them to him and I grabbed mine after he walked off and left them on the counter. I saved my Glock mag and I proceeded to put my ARP mag back into my ARP which IΓÇÖve been to Sentry several times and never told me anything before because IΓÇÖve went past times with my firearm intact . So your employee instructed me not to insert the mag and wait until I go inside the range to insert the mag. So I never fussed bout it I was going to do as instructed. YOUR EMPLOYEE THEN GRABBED THE FIREARM FROM ME AND RACKED IT BACK AND SAID I POINTED A LOADED FIREARM AT HIM WHEN HE CAME AND GRABBED IT FROM ME AND MY HAND WASNT ON THE TRIGGER AND SAFETY WAS ON. I check and make sure my firearm is on safety before I leave my home and before I even enter the building at Sentry defense and we can run the outside cameras as well because I was well in the parking lot for approximately 20 minutes before entering the building(brown Kia in the corner spot in the parking lot). Ive got self defense training, gun training, and deescalating etc . My two associates and I were shocked that he said that when he came over and grabbed MY FIREARM FROM ME . I didnΓÇÖt point the firearm and him and IΓÇÖd love to see the footage and if IΓÇÖm wrong IΓÇÖll gladly apologize but I know I didnΓÇÖt and he tried to escalate the situation like I deliberately pointed the firearm at him instead of trying to supposedly ΓÇ£instructΓÇ¥ me like he was doing before he GRABBED THE FIREARM FROM ME. Very unprofessional and I have too much to lose to even deal with the ignorance. WonΓÇÖt be returning at all. Please check the cameras hope to see footage and hear back and if I messed up IΓÇÖll gladly apologize but my associates and I both seen what happened . My hand wasnΓÇÖt on the trigger or by the area as well while trying to put the mag back into the ARP

When I was new to firearms, a friend of mine pointed me to this place for instruction. It's a very comfortable environment for first time shooters and the instructor was very thourough about how to handle a handgun in a safe manor and to shoot properly. I suggest any new shooters from the Lafayette area the give this place a visit for their handgun safety class. Also, the range at Sentry is nice and well lit. Since my visit there, I've been to some real dungeons that call themselves firing ranges. Upon experience, I see now that Sentry has a nice firing range with a good set up.

My review is not based on a single visit, but on my experience of being a member for about a year. The Sentry Defense Indoor Range and Gun Shop is truly fantastic! The range provides a great atmosphere for responsible firearm owners to practice using their own firearms or rent some of their guns to get the feel for them. They even offer exclusive and more expensive guns like Staccato 2011 C5 and Scorpion EVO 3 for those who would like to experience the full auto mode. They provide a very relaxed environment there and their gun store is superb! They have a wide variety of firearms and accessories to fit anyone's needs. The staff is friendly, respectful and they will make you feel at home. They are true professionals and gun experts! You can trust them when they give you advice or suggestion, because they are not pushing products to make their sales goals. Overall, a great place and highly recommended!

I love it here, bought a gun that was defective, they went above and beyond to fix that one and another that wasnΓÇÖt from them. They were friendly, very helpful, clean and I had so much fun.

On holiday from the UK and along with my wife and daughter visited Sentry Defense to experience shooting for the first time. Brandon and Austin who run the company were super helpful and Austin in particular who took us through the basics and safety protocols and he was very good and informative. Highly recommended and great fun.

Excellent family experience. The owner came up to my wife and gave her some free pointers. She then allowed my wife to try her carry gun. We ultimately bought the same pistol that day becauseit was a much better fit than her previous pistol. Thanks so much Sentry for your support.

First Class ownership and staff! Everyone their is helpful and friendly, even greet you when walking in making it a professional and friendly atmosphere. IΓÇÖve had multiple questions with Shelby, Jay who were very welcoming and helpful the first time walking in. I have taken their CC course with Ty as the instructor and it was very educational and kept you interested in the materials presented. Staff is very knowledgeable! I took an instructor class with Ty M. Today 12-20-22 and it was extremely helpful. I can really appreciate the respect for live firearms in the shooting area ensuring the safety of everyone there. Thank you Ty for the excellent instruction. Thank you Dalton, Jackson and Carl and Quinton. Special thanks to Brandon and Ty for the excellent remove n replace work and at great prices. All of these folks really love their jobs there and it shows through there helpfulness. Brandon & Shelby run a first class business!

Knowledgeable staff that was super friendly and informative. IΓÇÖm sure I asked many dumb questions as it was my first time at an indoor range but not once did I feel judged. The options of pew pewΓÇÖs,targets and availability is simply the best! First time or seasoned shooter this place is a great experience!

First time to a gun range, very friendly and helpful staff assisted us with reccomendations. Jay helped our family of 4 learn gun safety and was happy to assist us though our whole time there and made it fun and enjoyable. He had great energy, passionate and knowledgeable about his work. They had solid prices and supplied all the equipment. if you're considering going to a range I'd look no further. Can't wait to come again!
