Shield Wall Range and Training Facility

Took some time off Friday to use the range at Shield Wall. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, particularly Hunter who was able to answer all of my questions and provide insights. Clean, safe and nice environment to shoot. Will be back!

Shield Wall is awesome. I was in Austin from out of state with my team. IΓÇÖm a highly experienced shooter, but many on my team arenΓÇÖt and wanted to try out a shooting range. The employees here are fantastic. Everyone we interacted with was friendly. We used a mix of firearms that I brought with me, as well as some rentals from the range. Rental and ammo prices were very reasonable. The range itself is well maintained: itΓÇÖs clean, organized, and well lit. RSOs are excellent and knowledgeable. Staff is very safety-conscious without being unreasonable or overbearing. Everyone had a great time, and I will definitely visit this range again when IΓÇÖm back in Austin.

This place says gotten a great facelift. They have installed brand new lighting on the shooting range and showroom. Everyone that works there is real nice and helpful. I know that they are offering classes from pistol to shotgun and more. I enjoyed meeting each of them; canΓÇÖt wait to go back!

Excellent prices (half off specials for ladies on certain days/times) and service (ear and eye protection provided free of charge). Range is indoor but does get cold so plan accordingly!

If you are a beginner and looking for a great time, this is the place. We were instructed by Hunter who was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. He gave us great cues on our shooting, indulged all our silly questions about the inner workings of the guns, and we had an amazing time. 10/10, would recommend, ask for Hunter!

Went with hubby to purchase our first hand guns. All the employees were knowledgeable and we ended up working with Jon. He was super helpful, and took time to thoroughly answer our questions. Excellent experience, and we're going back next week for license training.

Visited from Houston. Hosted 5 gents, 2 first time shooters. Range was nice, staff was awesome. Digitized waivers great intro/safety instruction. We brought our own guns but also rented some from their nice collection. Solid selection to buy as well. The team was attentive but not overbearing. Fielded all manner of question from folks in the party. Honest folks, fair pricing. Saw father/son and husband/wife duos out so they definitely make it comfortable for folks to practice or get into shooting. I really really liked the overall setup and would recommend. Fantastic owner and team.

We really had a great time here! The instructor is very friendly and patient! The price is affordable and reasonable. We are foreigners so English is not very proficient but they just explained everything so clearly! There are many different discounts everyday! You will never regret visiting it!

Had a great time! Hunter and the guys were fantastic. They made sure we knew how to handle the weapons safely and were very friendly and accommodating. Had a go of the hand cannon and definitely recommend giving it a go!

Huge shoutout to Kolby! Brought my dad up here so he could get some range time with his new pistol on his birthday. Kolby was our range safety officer, best experience I have ever had with a range safety officer! Very kind, good conversation, and at the end finding out he was the owner?? Cherry on top. I love seeing an owner willing to take shifts in the range.

One of the best shop to learn more about guns and specially when youΓÇÖre a first time shooter. Hunter was our guide and he is an amazing person who was with us throughout. He explained everything in a very easy and understandable manner and was also with us throughout our time if in case we needed his help. Do visit!

I just left Shield Wall Range. Had not been here for several years under previous ownership. This will be my go to range from now on. Showroom is bright and well laid out. The range itself is very well lit and easy to use. The full reason for my 5 star review is the staff. I came in with a new rifle and was having difficulty sighting it in. One of the employees came over and give me a few suggestions follow by several more much needed suggestions. We finally found that a gunsmith at another location had done some work on the gun and it was done very poorly, causing a misalignment with my new suppressor. I was very lucky I did not do damage to the rifle. The gunsmith onsite quickly figured out the issue and went to work on it for me. Is less an 30 minutes he had it back assembled and we had 100 yard groupings that would fit behind a $.50 piece. Range fees are very affordable and even ammo was reasonable. Do yourself a favor and come check these guys out. They are happy to help and strive to provide you the best shooting experience possible.

Nice range and professional staff but FYI if you come alone and want to rent a gun to use you also have to bring your own gun with you. Yes that's correct, to rent a gun you have to bring your own gun.

Completely empty range except for me trying to sight in new rifle, 15 open lanes and they assign 3 18yr old kids the lane next to me with their hot brass dumping over the wall at me. I asked the range master to move to another lane and was told no. So i left after 15 minutes. will never go there again

We had such a great experience here! I was getting frustrated trying to shoot in a new rifle/scope and was having issues, they were incredibly helpful and Mareck got me dialed in! Every person I spoke to was very nice and helpful!!! We had been here years ago as Reds, it is much nicer inside now!
