Q: The Officials didn't like us having a free safe place to shoot, so they closed it. One question you should ask yourself. Do those "Officials" work for me, or do they think they are here to control me?

A: No, they work for and serve themselves. Doesn't matter who's in office, Michigan is special interest controlled and very much liberal. GOP are a bunch of sell-outs and recruit from within, their own sponsored corporate ranks. Dems do what Dems do. I am amazed we even have paid shooting ranges. Like fireworks, you have the 2% of the population who hates them so they are constantly trying to make them illegal again. Pffft

Hardly open accept when it gets close to hunting season fix it up with a grant from the trump administration closed it up with the Witmer clown show .state off art facility that's sites there. Not being used and a ton of rules ridiculous

Very nice setup, could use 3 or 4 more 10 yard and 25 yard stands,but this range is best then, not having a place to shoot

They have systematically removed this range, first by "upgrading" it and placing permanent lanes and structures but now it's official hours are only limited to 3 days during the week making an already busy range pretty much useless. Then once the construction was finally completed, a year beyond schedule, they have just locked it up and with only a sign saying closed until earliest convenience. This range used to be popular and good, I was even willing to drive 40 mins just to go because of the no hasle shoot as you like style and it was free. Now the best bet is to go to bald mountain if your in the same area, not free but at least open normal hours. What a complete waste of money and time from everyone

As of 8/28/21, range is closed til further notice. Posted on fence. Someone needs to update this and change google settings.

This place used to be the spot to practice and build skill with each of my guns through all year round, sunrise to sunset, when other folks were at the range when I showed up it was common courtesy to wait till they finish their firing on their targets, and all look across to make sure guns down and safe before walking out to place new targets. Great people to people interaction and all practicing gun safety. Now I don't like what the government has done to it, fenced it off entirely, it's never open, I drove by on a Thursday, sign says "The Lapeer Range is closed until further notice." The people need places to go to safely build their skills in self defense and at little to no cost.

This is the 3rd time in the last 3 Saturdays try going and its never open. Tell me why its closed and it will say on site its open. All I wanna do is go shoot it should be open 7 days a week
