Questions & Answers

Q: What are the targets distance at the handgun range

A: 30ft & 55ft. (As a side note, Google Maps has a "measure distance" option: Right Click on the starting point, a window will pop up, select "measure distance", then left click on the 2nd point. This will tell you the distance. You can continue left clicking and it will tell you the distance to a to a path. (PC of course), To close the measurements, just close the measure window.)

Q: What are the lane lengths? Do they have over 100 yards??

A: They do. The longest lane is 200 yards. As well as a 100 yard lane integrated with a few tables at, I believe, 25 yards for getting on paper.

Q: Can you get a Range Permit there?

A: Purchase online with the PAG Commission

Q: Is the range open to the public

A: Yes, everyday from sunrise to sunset.

Q: Is there a cost, membership to access th3 range? Is there a range control to keep the range orderly and safe?

A: No cost, per sey, but you need to get a hunting licence or be a guest of someone who has one. No range control officer, of any sort or style. Up to the visitors to maintain safety & keep it clean. The cleanliness needs work tho; there are some real slobs there. Not sure if they think there's some kind of cleaning service, but there's not. Some of it for sure, is everyone thinking: "oh, my little bit isn't a big deal". But when a fair number of shooters just leave their mess, then, it becomes a mess.

A: An alternative to a hunting license or being a guest ... You can buy (and it's required) a Range Permit ~$30.00, from the Game Commission - online sales only & you must have the ability to read & print a PDF file, and then you can have a guest. Permits last 365 days from time of purchase.

Q: I just got my range permit, curious if I can bring 12 gauges to this site? I noticed it seems like a rifle/pistol range..

A: Only if itΓÇÖs a single round projectile i.e slugs for the handgun range at least. ThereΓÇÖs a shotgun only section to the left of everything for clay

- eckolegend (3 years ago)

A: I took a ride up there last week, the shotgun area is actually really nice. I have a foot thrower for clay birds, it worked great up there!

Q: How do i join?

A: Hunting license or range permit.

Q: Does anyone know what the fee (per hour, etc) to shoot here is?

A: Free but you need to have a legally registered firearm, along with having a range permit($30) or valid pa hunting license ($20)

I've gone to this range for years, and it keeps getting better. On this trip, I practiced with my AR at 100 yards and with my 357 at the pistol range. Everyone was polite and professional. Wasn't too crowded on a monday during the day. I'm looking forward to my next trip back.

Probably the nicest range in the area. Clay pigeon, pistol, as well as covered 50/100/200 yard ranges. The place is huge with lots of parking. Even the views are great!

Overall, a nice place with lots of areas to shoot. There's a dedicated shotgun range, 2 pistol ranges, a 50 yards rifle range, a 100yard rifle range & a 200 yard range. My only issue is that a fair number of shooters are just slobs, and leave their spent casings all over (especially the steel stuff), small pieces of misc trash, etc. It being a public range, you're allowing anyone to use it..... And it shows. There are no garbage cans, which I can understand why (people would start bringing their house hold garbage and no one would take care of emptying them, So, they'd be over flowing, and then the mess spills over. So, if you go, you should feel safe overall. Just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, clean up after yourself (and some of the stuff that might not be yours). Thanks!

Pretty good. If you have to pee, better do it in the woods. Other than that, no issues.

Great spot to come sight in your rifles/hand guns. Make sure to clean up after yourself, and have proper range etiquette. Had a great time, and will be returning soon.

Very easy to get to. Dirt road leads you to the range. A surprising amount of people go here. There is always genuine shooters. Some of the boards are all shot through, but do get replaced. Be safe and communicate! That point can't be stressed enough. Speak to the others around you. Don't be an idiot.

Any time I've gone, nothing but courtesy from whomever I met, if I even saw anyone there with me. It was a perfect place to introduce my son to firearms. He learned, and now understands what they can do and how permanent it can be. Along with the reprocussions that come along with having that kind of power in your hands if cjosennto do ill upon others.. it was also a great mommy-son bonding time.. one way to stop gun violence is proper education....

Could use better back stops to help keep targets posted by good lanes and tables for every lane
