A: We are currently only offering the qualification. Which is the requirement for the application. No course is required to apply for a NJ Carry. We do it as a walk in for $200 with no appointment or $150 Monday mornings by appointment.

A: Hello Lisa, we have tons of options for you. Ladies Night is a great way to enjoy shooting for the first time. You do need to have another person with you in order to rent. You will watch a safety video and a range master will assist you on the range. As far as caliber and firearms to use, our sales staff will help you decide what would be the best for you. If you decide to take up shooting and want more specialized training we have different courses to choose from. It all starts by showing up. A: Hi Lisa. I've been going to Sure Shot for years and prior, to Ray's in Boundbrook on rt 22. I agree with the posts regarding the knowledge and accommodation of the range officers. Get your gun permit then go to Sure Shot and actually handle the many caliber and brands they carry. See what feels best then ask to rent the same type of handgun. The range is part of the store and the officers will guide you from safety to shooting. Once you decide on the caliber, I suggest you make your purchase there because the variety and price are good.

A: Everyone handles and comfort for a hand gun is different. I started my daughter off with a rental 22lr hand gun. With in 1/2 hr she jumped up to my 9mm smith & wesson. 1 year later she is a member of shore shot and owns a springfield 1911 45acp. Suggest to start small caliber. The employees at shore shot will always help and teach you improvement. Excellent group. Extremely knowledgeable. Great people. This is my experience.

A: The range officers will be more than glad to instruct you and guide you through the selection process. The staff is super accommodating and whatever you feel comfortable with they will provide.

A: You need one person in your party to be 21 to rent a handgun. 18 to rent a rifle. We allow people as young as 10 to shoot at our facility.

I stopped into ShoreShot this evening to ΓÇÿget back on the horseΓÇÖ. It had been a few years since IΓÇÖve hit a range - partly due to a geographic relocation and partly because of a triceps injury that had me concerned about the effect of recoil. It was pretty busy when I went (Saturday around 6:00PM). I waited around 20 minutes for a lane, which was fine and also afforded time to shop around and see what they offered. Once on range, my lane had a broken target pulley. They immediately relocated me. Having been a few years, I started out around 7y. I was shooting decent with a .22lr S&W, but when I switched to my 9mm Ruger, the results were not good. I struggled through a couple of clips and finally went and asked for a quick observation from one of the range officers. He came right over, fired a few shots himself to make sure my iron sights werenΓÇÖt jacked up, then gave me some advice. It helped for sure - groups got a bit better and a little closer to where I wanted them. Bottom line is the even though it was quite busy and the store area was crowded, the staff wasnΓÇÖt rattled at all and they remained helpful and patient with everyone while I was there. It was definitely a good experience and I will be going back for Shore (groan).

They take advantage of people who don’t know guns. My dad paid $500 for a mossberg maverick and $500 for a sar9 pistol. I cannot find either of them anywhere for above $240. Over double the price… the mossberg was supposed to be new but after running into ejection problems and sending the shotgun to mossberg, they told us how this gun was bought months before and Shore Shot was selling it for someone, this information was never disclosed to my father. He thought the shotgun was brand new not a year old and used. A part had to be fixed. Effectively selling a broken/used gun to someone with little knowledge as “brand new”.

Yesterday was my first time here, friend of mine told me to come shoot a little and IΓÇÖm glad I did. This place is great there was a line and a little wait but what do you expect for 2pm on a Saturday haha. Talking to the few people I did that work there you feel right at home there willing to ΓÇ£talkΓÇ¥ not just sell you things witch will make you buy stuff in itself, I was able to shoot all my guns I brought and even go to help sight in some optics while I shot. The girl behind the counter I didnΓÇÖt get her name but she was great an knew a ton she helped situate my friends wife with the best grip she could get for her gun and wasnΓÇÖt trying to just sell something. Great place and great workers will be back to shoot and maybe pick up a staccato next time.
