Visiting from Salt Lake City and boy was I happy to see a range facility open the day before Christmas! This range is thoughtfully laid out, beautifully maintained, the staff are highly professional, serious about safety, and very welcoming rather than egotistical. These people are excellent representatives of the shooting sports, fees are extremely reasonable, target stands and steel are available at the range to shoot. Paper targets are sold at the office as well. The 400 yard range was my destination today, target burms at 200,300,400, steel at 400, nice concrete benches clean and comfortable firing lines, restroom facilities are clean and well maintained, very impressed with the facility, staff, fees, equipment. will be back!

I live in Artesia, NM, which is about two hours away, yet I always make the effort to use this range. I truly enjoy everything that SPGR has to offer. Whether it's making new friends at the USPSA and .22 rifle matches, zeroing my rifles, instructing new shooters, developing loads for my hunting and long-range rifles, or just enjoying some plinking, they have it all. The facilities are well-maintained; the bays and bathrooms are clean, and the patrons are respectful and safe. I also appreciate the new bow range, which enables me to confirm my sights at various hunting distances. The employees are fantastic and take their jobs seriously, and I enjoy the ice cream, snack, and soda bar as well! One suggestion for the range would be to consider opening a bit earlier on certain days of the weekend or during specific parts of the year. Sometimes, when I'm working on load development or shooting my bow, the wind picks up, making it difficult to get accurate data by the time I'm set up. Overall, this range is an excellent place for new shooters to start, for average shooters to improve, and for advanced shooters to enjoy.

I am currently in the Air Force and was stationed at Holloman AFB down the street from this place. I cannot stress enough how important it is to support this range. I am now stationed at Nellis here in Las Vegas and have yet to find a range that can even come close in comparison to this one. The things I compare are the friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the bathrooms, type of customers you run into, the cost, and drive to the range and all the other normal things you expect from a business. The staff here really care about every customer and making sure everyone remains safe while not being too overbearing. They're professional and give off a small town personal feeling when doing business or having a simple conversation. My friends and I were also able to start some volunteer events here to help with our EPB's and they even wrote a letter to my commander to thank the squadron. We painted firing benches, firing lines, picked up spend brass, and even helped remove the (at the time) a 360 yd range canopy so they could make the 400 yd range a success. They reused the roof to my knowledge to build another range on the other side. They have wooden target stands and staple guns ready to go beside the office so putting your own targets up is a breeze. They also sell soda, energy drinks, snacks, Gatorade, and water. They have a 400 yd, 200yd, and 50 yd range along with 4+ general purpose bays where you and your friends can set up your own shooting style. Every range aside from the GP bays have steel plates for the satisfying ring when you hit the target. They offer a military discount on the year passes. The cost is worth it even if you only go three times in the year. Support these guys because they deserve it. This range was my favorite thing about being stationed at Holloman. Thank you SPG for all your help and support, this place kept me out of trouble and it kept me sane!!! Tons of memories were made at this place. Love you all!!!!!

This range is a jewel in the desert! I was at SPG about 20 years ago and the difference is amazing! It was a nice average size range back then, but so much has been done since then. It has at least doubled in size since my first visit and the amenities in the bays and the range overall are first class. Everything was clean and well maintained, which is quite a feat at a shooting range. Some shooters, sad to say, don't have much respect for the ranges. We had the opportunity to dry camp in our RV at the range, and from sign in until we left, the staff were great to deal with. They are very outgoing and friendly and they stopped by our RV several times during our 4 day stay to check on us and to just visit a little bit. The Otero Practical Shooters put on an awesome match and Iook forward to shooting more of there matches in the future. It's a 2.5 hour drive for me one way, but definitely worth it to shoot with these folks and to shoot on such a great range!

Been shooting with the Otero practical shooting association for over 20 years. The range just hosted its first major shooting competition in almost 20 years with the USPSA New Mexico sectional championship . The new bays and management are top notch. Thank you. Dust control combined with the food vendors made an amazing experience. The citizens of Otero county have much to proud of. I'd invite anyone to come look at this facility.

It is one of the best ranges I had the opportunity to visit - and I have seen a lot of them from coast to coast. I was visiting from out of state for the USPSA New Mexico Sectional Championship. It is a huge range with wide and deep bays and high berms. With their nice amenities it's one of the state-of-the art ranges in the US. They did a great job with hosting their inaugural major match. Hopefully with more to follow. Most importantly, the team running the facility is extremely helpful - from the gentleman managing the range to the safety officers. It was great chatting with them and appreciated the personalized tour and guidance. All in all, it was an awesome experience.

Awesome range! This range outdoes many big city facilities. It is well run and accommodates many different shooting disciplines. They also held a great state match for USPSA this year.

Incredible range, fantastic staff! Their work in helping the USPSA Sectional match happen at this location was outstanding. I've been communicating with range management for this entire year in the planning process for this match and they have always been helpful, available, and knowledgeable.

Gary was super helpful showing us the ropes and making us feel like family. He made sure we felt comfortable and had everything we needed. Chuck did a great job teaching us how to zero in our scope. Chelsie and the Women on Target event was awesome, it was a great way to get more familiar and confident with handling firearms in a welcoming environment.

Excellent facility, really appreciate the archery range. As someone who traveled from the east coast for an archery elk hunt, it was super nice to verify everything was good with my bow.

I don't go out of my way to give many reviews so believe me when I say this is a good place. Mark is very helpful and even saved one of my arrows that I had set aside and forgot. My buddy got his conceal carry license here as well. It's a very friendly and safe place. I would go so far as to say it's essential to keep this place running for safe sport, training and education as well as recreation. Heck they even ice cream

For anyone who might feel intimidated going to a professional range for the first time you need to check out the SPG Range. The staff is friendly and helpful. The various ranges are in great condition and they have gear, spotting scopes, rifle rests, etc to lend as well as ammo, targets and other equipment for sale. They also sponsor events and classes. Check them out!

Awesome spot to practice your skills with ranges of varying lengths. No barrier of entry for those new to shooting, pistol only range with steel targets, friendly but firm and informative RSO's... And a myriad of shooting programs, clubs and experiences use the range to broaden the adoption of safe shooting skills... Heard of a Girl with a Gun, the active chapter is right here in Alamo... My wife got bitten by the bug at Women on Target and now my already expensive hobby is getting even moreso. Don't sleep on SPG Shooting Range, get out there and have a safe range day!

Have been several times over the last 3 years. The range is always improving and the staff is great to work with. Being a managed range, the Range Safety Officers provide a safe environment to shoot in. I've been by myself and in large groups and every time it has been a great experience.

We were UK tourists coming to use a shooting range (and guns) for the first time and received first class personalised treatment. The whole experience was very safe and considered and also very fun. Mark very kindly came in on his day off to look after us and gave us a full safety briefing and familiarisation lesson before taking us to the range. As I said, safety was a massive element and we were very impressed and felt very well looked after at all times. There were a range of guns and Mark spent a lot of time in advance and on the day in order to get ones that suited our capabilities. There were a fun range of targets too. It was a very fun and education experience and all the staff were very friendly with great facilities too. Would highly recommend!

I remember coming out here soon after the range started developing in the 1990ΓÇÖs. Then started coming out every couple of years over the last 10 years. Today, I returned for some practice with a friend and all I can say is WOW, what great improvements, especially over the last couple years. A great place to shoot. Staff were friendly today and very willing to share info on the recent developments as well as future plans.

The workers are very friendly and patient. The range safety brief is very thorough, informational, and made me feel very comfortable as a new shooter. The range itself is nice and very clean and private. 10/10 would recommend!

Friendly and knowledgeable! Really learned a lot at the NRA women on Target class! I also want to add that the class room and range are ♿️ accessible.
