South River Gun Club: A Premier Shooting Destination South River Gun Club is hands-down one of the best shooting facilities in the Southeast. Whether youΓÇÖre a seasoned competitor or just getting started, this club has everything you need to train, improve, and compete at the highest level. One of the standout features of South River is its top-tier training opportunities. The club attracts some of the best instructors in the industry, offering courses that cater to all skill levels. Whether youΓÇÖre working on fundamentals or refining advanced techniques, the training available here is second to none. The action pistol bays are another huge highlight. Spacious, well-maintained, and designed with practical shooting in mind, these bays make South River a prime location for dynamic training and competition. If youΓÇÖre serious about pistol shooting, thereΓÇÖs no better place to hone your skills. For competitors, South River Gun Club is a must-visit for USPSA shooters. The club hosts some of the best USPSA tournaments in the region, with challenging, well-designed stages that push competitors to perform at their best. The matches are always well-organized, and the community of shooters is welcoming and supportive, making every event a great experience. The only drawback is the rifle range, which is by appointment only. While understandable from a management perspective, this limitation makes it less accessible for casual rifle shooters. Honestly, it might be better utilized as something more functionalΓÇöan archery range, for example, could bring in more members and expand the clubΓÇÖs offerings. Overall, South River Gun Club is a fantastic facility for pistol and action shooting enthusiasts. With top-notch training, excellent action bays, and outstanding USPSA matches, itΓÇÖs a go-to destination for anyone serious about the sport. If they can find a better use for the rifle range, this place would be nearly perfect!

I use to have a membership with my family when I was in middle school lovely place, the people were so nice. But now recently coming back to enjoy it again with my family they treated us like we were nobodyΓÇÖs, looked at us up and down treated us like we were stupid ! And acted like we didnΓÇÖt know nothing about gun safety. I couldnΓÇÖt even shoot without a worker looking at me and asking to show me how to do everything for me every second ! Yes I may be a women but that doesnΓÇÖt make me stupid and just because I bring someone covered in tattoos doesnΓÇÖt mean that you should judge them and look at them like there less than you! And also I started hunting at the age of 11 I know my gun safety and touching my gun and snatching it out of my family member hand and unloading it was very uncalled for which the owner did that by the way to all the reviewers reading ! DonΓÇÖt go here if you donΓÇÖt wear country club attire.

Worst experience of my life I was judged as soon as I walked in the owner is very rude and was very disrespectful. IΓÇÖll never go here again and I would not recommend going here I was whiling to spend 500$ to become a member here not worth it.

This range has a lot of different rules and what you shoot is one of them. You have to have a membership to shoot air guns. Honestly it seems like a way to bring in revenue. This isnΓÇÖt the range for you if you want to sigh in an air rifle without paying extra fees like regular firearms.

Requiring members to join the NRA was a deal breaker for me. I prefer GOA but that is not an option for them and I donΓÇÖt know why.

Visited from Philly to shoot USPSA match with a few friends(AACS). Awesome, well run event. Facility was clean, safe, and well stocked. You can see the pride in the members. AC in lower restrooms was a plus in that 95┬░heat. Match setup was top notch & water cart was appreciated. Will be back.

Was looking for an outdoor range but after reading the range rules I'll pass. I don't support any company that checks NFA paperwork for use of NFA items. Only ATF and IRS are entitled to view those. But it is a private company so they can have whatever rules they want.

Beverley proved to be an incredibly delightful individual, meticulously walking me through every club rule. Tommy, on the other hand, provided an excellent tour of the gun range, offering a comprehensive rundown of what to do and what not to do. I canΓÇÖt wait to join the club.

As a member, this is a great facility. Open to all, from amateur to professional. The staff and other members are always open to help guest or new members. Haven't seen any klansmen...

I love having a shooting range in the area. The only problem I have is the hours. They claim they are open, 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday's. It's Sunday September 4, 2022, 9:15 am. The hours on the site say Sunday's 12:00 to 6:00 PM. I I'm on my back porch drinking a cup of coffee, all I've been hearing is gunshot since 8 Am this morning. Again, I love the ability of an outdoors shooting range, but give the people living in the surrounding neighborhoods, a chance to enjoy the nice quite mornings.
