A: Renovations are done. Back Open at last. YES
- Tyrone Lloyd (6 years ago)
Q: Has the.range opened back up yet?
A: I went out there in the beginning of February and one of the workers said it would be about a month which means 3 months so by May it should be opened
- Kevin (6 years ago)
Q: Do you guys offer a 300yd range
A: Is there anywhere near demopolis with a public 300yd range
- Paul Miranda (7 years ago)
A: No, 100 yd
- Chommie Clanton (7 years ago)
Q: What's the cost to use the range what's the best time to go practice
A: You are supposed to leave a few dollars somewhere but no one ever does. I've only seen a range master there once. If you have a hunting or fishing license, then you are all paid up. Early morning is the best time to go but it's rarely too crowded.

Q: Do i have to bring my owe gun
A: Yes. All you have is a table, a field, and something to pin a target to. Bring guns, ammo, hearing protection, and targets. Bring water and snacks too, because there is nothing around.

This location provides an ideal testing ground for new and used fire systems, justifying the travel along the unpaved access road.

Great place to have a shooting range day. A little too far and the sun can make you swim in your own sweat. Make sure to bring your targets and LOTS of water. Pay is 3$/car if you don't have a hunting license. Make sure you announce if the range is cold/hot. And if people are here for the 1st time please explain it to them. Overall, great clean place where you can shoot your guns!

My son and I go there often and I always have to bring a broom, it's a good range but unfortunately inconsiderate people who leave brass laying around everywhere, but for the $3.00 fee it's not bad and I like the fact that it's handicap accessible, the outhouse could use more frequent attention but otherwise we love the place

As with most other WMA shooting facilities, the range itself is pretty nice - clean, covered, and has plenty of parking. However, this is a popular range for college students, most of whom DO NOT follow proper gun etiquette. These "frat" types often show up with shotguns and hand them to their 90 lb. girlfriends who, at no fault of their own, fire once and then turn around with gun in hand - flagging everyone else at a shooting table. The guys are just as bad as they'll walk around the parking area with loaded firearms. I wish I could say this was an isolated incident, but I've seen this kind of thing happen at least a dozen separate times. Hot/Cold rules are often ignored and it's not unusual to see someone walk down to pick up a target while the range is hot. I think I'm done with this range for now.

its not free like others say, i went there with wife for the first time and was there just to check it out and the game warden showed up jumped out of his truck and started questioning us and trying to set us up so he could write a ticket for something, this was at 1pm on a wednesday no guns no booze no drugs just picking up brass on the ground. he gave us the impression that there are so many hidden rules that normal people wouldn't know that can get you fines and jail time and guns taken away. i would not recommend going ever. and you have to have a hunting license to shoot a gun on a range at a target....whatajoke and was also told you have to drive all the way to there station before you shoot to notify them first.just watch out because if you don't have all your ducks in a row to the exact way they want you are getting in trouble.

This is a good range. As long as you obey the rules, which are simple and easy to follow. Unfortunately we have some people that just have no respect for property that there's not an individual watching over. If you have a hunting license the range is free of use, just don't trash it. Sadly we have low lifes that use it as well and sometimes damage the facilities.

1.Extremly unsafe ( please please read below) 2. 6 miles of unpaved road If you do not intend on having a weapon pointed at you, i would reconsider going to this range. I can not stress enough how potentially unsafe a trip to this range could be. During the brief time i was there, i had two different firearms pointed at me. The first occurred when a father was showing his daughter how to hold a pistol. They did so directly behind me in the parking lot and when i turned around i was looking directly down the barrel of a Glock. Shortly after, the same family was handling the firearm and possibly about to fire the weapon while a man was still down range adjusting his target. The second time a weapon was pointed at me was shortly after when a man and his girlfriend arrived. The two handguns they were shooting were pulled out of the car in no case or holster and were imediatly handed to the girlfriend who seemed to have limited to none firearms knowledge. The handguns (both being held in one hand) were then pointed in my direction and everyone else's direction as they stood and talked. Both handguns appeared to have magazines inserted. When i asked them to be cognizant of the direction the firearms were pointing the boyfriend became aggressive and did not understand why myself and others at the range were upset with their handling of the weapons. if you do decide to attend this range, i encourage you to constantly be aware of what is happening around you. This was my first and only trip.

Range was mostly full when I arrived and so I sat in my truck and observed because there wasn't much light left in the day but everyone there was doing their own thing and did not seem to very safety conscious. There were multiple safety violations I observed in the 5 minutes I sat in the truck.

Very secluded area. Usually no one around to bother you. Long and short range as well as a good out of awning shotgun area.

Free shooting range and Has setup for pistols and rifles just need to bring your own targets. Skeet and trap shooting is possible if you have your own sporting clay thrower. Tannerite is not allowed

6 mile dirt road to the shooting range is awful, is REALLY hard on your vehicle! Range seems to be very unsafe, multiple liquor bottle shot up along with lots of bullet holes in the restrooms. Otherwise, decent 100 yd range.

Great range! $3 is quite a deal and well worth the drive. surprisingly well maintained despite the best efforts of the classless Dirtlegs that would have otherwise.

Very Nice range, unfortunately not every shooter is respectful to the other shooters.
