Q: Stupidity, let's waite till a month before deer rifle season to close this range, how about enforcing the license and permit aspect to use this range!!!
A: Why did they close it?
- Jason Armstrong (4 years ago)
Q: I'm a veteran that used to live in Pa. I now reside in N. C. Can I buy a permit to use the range?
A: They should let you use shooting range no questions asked you can get a permit for Hunting license
- Tony Dombroski (a year ago)
Q: Are you allowed to shoot compound bows for practice there or cross bows
A: No bows or cross bows is only rifles and handguns.
- Trillizo (5 years ago)
A: Ditto to above
- Courtney H (5 years ago)
A: No, firearms only.
- Many Me (5 years ago)
Q: Do you have to be 21 or older to shoot here? And do you have to have a membership?
A: You have to get a permit from the state of Pennsylvania I believe it is a $30 a year charge to use that facility. I believe you have to be of age or have a hunter safety certificate.
- Alan Almond (6 years ago)
A: You can also use the range if you have your hunting license.
- Matt Winslow (6 years ago)
A: Buying a permit for the fiscal year (July 1 thru June 30) for $30 entitles the permit holder to have one guest shooter.

A: If you have a valid hunting license the shooting ranges are free. No license, you need the permit.
- Kenneth Hartzel (3 years ago)
A: Is there a website we can go to for the permit
- Claudio Cotto (6 years ago)
Q: Am I aloud to shoot my 20 gauge shotgun here?
A: Plus slugs only, noy shot shells.
- Mike Coble (5 years ago)
A: Yes! you you are. However, the shotgun lanes a limited to 10 yards and you have to share with Rifle shooters. Hope it helps. Have a great shooting!
- Jose Garcia (7 years ago)
Q: The date im positing this is 02/16/25. In order to use this range, am I able to use my last years hunting license or do I have to purchase a permit for the shooting range?
A: To answer your question, you cannot use last year's hunting license, your hunting license has to be current year that you're using using the shooting range, or you have to buy a permit no expired licenses work.
- Alec Shilling (a week ago)
Q: Today is may 29, 2020. Is this range open yet? Friggin virus
A: Yes, 8am to 5pm
- Angel (4 years ago)
Q: How long is the range to the left of rifle range?
A: 25 and 100
- Jose Garcia (5 years ago)
Q: Can we camp out and spend two days?
A: No
- Angel (4 years ago)
Q: Are targets provided or do you need to bring your own. Can I use any type of ammo and can I fire an AK47 at the range?
A: Just a question because I'm new to game lands for target shooting. Do you need to pay any range fees? Or do you just need to purchase a range permit and provide your own targets and that's it?
- Robert Smith (a year ago)
A: Targets are not provided. You can shoot any type of ammo except shot shells. Also make sure you only load 3 round at the time.

Decent shooting range. Could use some dividers between benches. We were getting hit by casings from the next table over.

Nice covered range with benches and tables. Fit for righty, lefty, and chair users. 6 rounds to a magazine makes for decent volleys, and intervals where lanes can communicate to cool the range for target hanging and clearing. Stay safe, have fun, and keep clean. This is a lovely place to get out and shake the rust, or put glass onto paper.

Always a good place to shoot targets. It's even better now that the areas are covered.

Nice Range, clean and tucked away from the masses. Pistol and Rifle range, huge plus!! There was a guy cleaning up spent casings and picking up trash when I was there, he volunteers his time doing that, great guy, please pick up any casings/trash you leave behind. We're blessed the state continues to operate these ranges, show some pride.

Despite what most people that just got theyΓÇÖre first handgun/rifle and wanna shoot. You need to have a hunting license or range permit. Range permits can be found online and are good for a year if you buy them on the date they use. Instead of a year from the time you purchase. So just be aware. Not worth the game wardens giving you a hard time. And believe me they sit in their trucks and listen to how many shots are being fired etc so read the rules.

Great range. It can get busy ( I really hope they add more SGL ranges to help with that. No R/O, but other shooters are good with communication. Pistol is limited to 6 rounds loaded, and i believe rifle is 3 rounds. That doesn't make much sense to me. I get that they gear these towards hunters, but most ranges limit how fast you can shoot, not how many rounds in a magazine. It would be nice to see these become more inclusive to all shooters. Before you go, make sure you read the rules and either have a hunting license or range permit. You can print the permit out right when you purchase it online, and then they send you a fancy green one in the mail.

Nice state owned range with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Has 100 yard rifle range, a 50 yard pistol range and an archery range. You must bring your own targets but it's FREE, clean and new shape.
