Questions & Answers

Q: do we need ids?

A: You don't need to have an ID but it's always good to have your driver's license with you but they don't require you to show your license or ID I just went there with my son about a week or two ago they didn't charge him and it's $10 to shoot all day

A: This is the safest & most well run gun range that I've ever been too. You can pay $10 for the day, or $70 for six months or $100 for 13 months. They give an extra month for the range "deleading" twice a year. As far as I know, there isn't a minimum age as long as the parent is attentive.

A: how old do kids have to be

- Gerri Reyes (a year ago)

A: they require a ID... probably a good idea to carry ID anyways...

- Frank Miller (2 years ago)

Q: Are ear plugs allowed or do u need muffs

A: Yes ear plugs are allowed. Remember to also bring eye protection.

- John Silva (a year ago)

Q: Can I bring and shoot my 50 caliber black powder rifle at your range.

A: Yes. They allow those. The only restrictions are really shotguns. If you go on their website you can download their rules and regs.

- Joe Stollings (4 years ago)

Q: Is this range wheelchair accessible?

A: Yes. Everything is flat, and there are no stairs or obstructions preventing a wheelchair.

- Ryan Custureri (a month ago)

A: Yes it is.

- Sean Baker (a month ago)

A: I would say yes.

- Luis Negron (a month ago)

- Christina Colby (9 months ago)

Q: Can I site in my 300 blackout Ranch Rifle out there

A: You can basically shoot any standard weapon with the exception of shotgun

- Zapler (2 years ago)

Q: Do you sell ammo?

A: They sell neither ammo nor targets here

- Zapler (2 years ago)

Q: Is there a shotgun ban at Strickland shooting range?

A: Yes, no shotguns are allowed

- Bryan Kruk (4 years ago)

Q: 2 questions, first can you shoot full metal jacket ammunition in a rifle? Second can you load magazines to capacity?

A: Hi Bill. While we were there, my son shot a .270 Winchester with scope on the 100 ft range, part of the range. At the same time, we shot our Glocks with different magazines to capacity. We had a great time. Have fun my friend… nel

Q: What type of target frames are used - can I staple to them, or will I need packing tape? Can't tell 100% from the pics online. Thanks.

A: Range has many free staplers/staples.

IΓÇÖve been going here for about over a year. Absolutely love this places and the staff. The head guy in the booth is an absolute sweetheart. Unfortunately being a female and of color IΓÇÖve had bad experiences at other ranges where IΓÇÖve been talk down to and belittled meanwhile IΓÇÖve grew up shooting with my family. This place treats every one as equals no belittling, will be firm and professional if they seen improper use. I just love this place and the environment. Great place to teach your kids.

A very relaxed AND professional range. Admission is inexpensive and "for the day" if you so desire. One of the few places in the area where can stretch out your range to 100yds or more. Bring your targets, bring your ammo, bring your guns (they don't offer any for sale or rent on premises). Targets are posted and retrieved manually during cold range periods every 15 minutes or so. Many lanes with varying ranges to choose from. I drive by a few ranges to get there.

So I was only here once before and it wasn't for very long, and it was years ago. This was my first time returning since getting an AR-15. I had a .22 conversion kit in it and it was my first time using it. The two safety officers I interacted with were helpful and chill to talk to. But there is one who had yellow ear protection and looks like Shia Labeouf in Fury who was an a hole. The rules about the red and yellow lines were not explained to me beforehand, but the red one is obviously the firing line. They called a cease fire, and I couldn't hear everything that was said over the intercom, but they said to open the bolt. I'm not used to this at the other range I go to but I wasn't aware that my conversion kit would not actually lock the bolt. So I make sure it's empty, set it down, and turn around, only to see an event with a man passing out behind me. Keep in mind this was only in about 3-5 seconds. I forgot to grab a target so I spun around to grab it before joining everyone on the other side of the yellow line, but by then this safety offer was there and snapped at me like a damn dog to get behind the line, grabbed the target and shoved it into me without even looking at me. I get that in the moment I probably looked dumb because I was unfamiliar with the range, the conversion kit and surprised to find a medical emergency behind me, but this range officer didn't have to be so rude. Could have approached me after to explain things to me, anything really. The guys at Hot Shots in Daytona have always been super chill though and have never treated me that way. Overall, the range itself is pretty cool, and the other staff were friendly. 5 stars for that. I get that safety is extremely important, but minus 2 stars for the grump.

We really appreciate having this public range. It only cost $10 to use the range and you can stay as long as you want. You don't feel rushed, which is important when handling firearms and especially when teaching someone. The range masters are always polite, but very firm about the rules. I always feel safe.

It's one of my favorite places to shoot. The range officers are on their game, but yet have a relaxed attitude and are quite professional. 15 minute intervals is more than enough time for rifle practice. Been shooting here over 20 times, and one of my favorites (Updated Jan 15 2025)

It was a pretty nice range being outdoors. A few strange rules but all ranges have those these days.

Great place for target practice! The gentleman on site were courteous and helpful, whilst maintaining strict safety standards. One of them assisted with hand positions on my son's new pistol and made useful suggestions to aid in using the gun. They were also helpful with my 9 year old son and his first go at shooting. An excellent experience!

Good range. Friendly staff manage it firmly without being over the top like some ranges. The folks of volusia County ought be happy they have this range. Thanx for operating it for public use. Sport shooting & firearm safety should be an option taught in public schools, and offered in scouting. American led the world at one time with a safe armed populace. Sadly, ignorant, fearful people have now propagated a populace ignorant of the safe use of personally owned firearms. We now have a the last 2 generations not trained in the home by a daddy & a mommy with the importance of firearm ownership and their safe use & storage. Who says society isn't engineered?

Hello to all active duty and United States Veterans. It's been around nine years since shooting at a gun range, and for my birthday, my son brought me here. This gun range is something. First, I heard this loud boom, and I guessed a magnum 44. I was right. There's ample parking, and ear protection is recommended before going in. A ten dollar fee/pp, all weapons on safe entering and leaving the range, and range officers are at safety alert at all times. I tried, for the first time, my Glock 43X with four boxes of ammo. What fun! My son tried his new rifle for hunting, and he was astonished at one hundred feet precision his .270 Winchester was. The range officers attended him in all aspects of the rifle and safety. They also had a spotting scope, and all went awesome. We had an awesome time, and I recommend the Strickland shooting range.

"Absolutely no rapid fire, 1 second per shot" per the online range rules. There is no sense even visiting for pistol practice at an outdoor range. Absolute Fudd behavior.
