A: No we do not. The closest one is Southgate Firearms in Yosemite Lakes Park. There are several that IΓÇÖd recommend, but that one is the closest.

Q: Is this place open to the public or do I have to be a member to shoot? And how much do they charge?
A: Open to the public, they charge by the clay for sporting Clay's; membership slightly decreases the per clay cost. I would still recommend calling ahead like you would a golf course, checking for availability based on tourney schedules. An average round of 100 Clay's will cost about $45 +/- for one person. But you can shoot more or less at your own choice

A: How about Rifle and pistol range? I don't own a shotgun I just have rifles and pistols, can I still shoot targets without being a member?

Q: How thick of plywood is needed for target stands to fit in slot. I no 26 wide but how thick. Thx
A: You have to use the stands that they provide. Wood legs with cardboard backing. $5 for a stand and you can take it home and bring it back to use as much as you like. You put your own paper targets on the stand or you can purchase paper there as well. I have a very nice Target stand of my oun I wish I could use there, but you have to use their stands. But they get the job done. I do not think they are making a proffit off the stands. They do it for safety (stands can only be locked in place at back of bay where they want them placed against backstop and no ricochet from steel.) And for cleanliness, they don't want piles of wood splinters or glass to clean up. Paper targets only and have to be on their stands. The wood legs they use are I believe 1 inch thick and fit in snug between a couple 2x4s

Q: Good afternoon, my wife and I will be moving to Oakhurst this summer. I love to target shoot when I get the chance. I would like to get the wife familiar with firearms. I have a couple of .22s. Do you rent any firearms?

Hands down, Sun Mountain is the best public shooting range in the Fresno/Madera area. Fantastic facilities and great staff. Multiple pistol bays, 200 yard rifle range, as well as trap and sporting clays.

Great sporting clays course. Compact with very interesting targets. 2 tower shots. You can walk it if you want to haul your stuff or rent a golf cart. Great club house. Trap houses were closed which was disappointing.

Great, clean club house and shooting bays. Friendly, helpful staff. They also have different shooting classes available for new shooters to very seasoned shooters. I would highly recommend.

Most. fun I have had in many years. Sporting clay course is a blast and challenging. People that belong to the club are very friendly, warm and helpful. Pistol and rifle range are great. Best of all are the owners Tina, Matt and son Brenton. Warm, kind and run a very safe facility Atmosphere is gentle rolling hills in oak county Great place to observe flora and fauna!!!!!!!

The only negatives I have with this range is 1. They do not allow you to use your own target stands or shoot steel. I am sure this is for safety an also because of Yahoo's that leave a mess behind. But the target stands they sale are only $5 and you can take the home and bring them back to use again. You can bring your own paper targets. 2. They are an hour drive from my home. But that is not their fault. I gladly make the trip rether than hitting any of the indoor ranges. Things I like. They keep it pretty clean. It's outdoors. I can get a huge pistol/ rifle range to myself. The bays have high dirt walls on front and sides. You are not in line of sight of any of the other shooters and safe from stray rounds. It also works to deaden the noise of shooters in bays next to you. They allow me to use my rifle in the pistol bay so I can spend the day shooting both without having to change bays. The bays provide privacy as well. You can park your vehicle at your bay and table. I like being able to work out of my truck right there so I can set up and pack up faster with out a hike, giving me more shooting time. Each bay has a covered picnic table at back of bay. The staff are very nice and helpful, make you feel welcome. I can not comment on skeet or the shooting events. I just use the place to keep fresh on my CCW firearm and to test fire my build. I can not get out there as much as I like. If I lived in the area I would be out there maybe once a week. You never know what kind if wildlife you might come across at the range, see attached photo.

If you've never done sporting Clay's, you need to change that. I've been to SMGC at least 10 times now and the course is never the same. Couldn't recommend this place more!

Really fun course. Expect it to take you about 2 hours or so to move through the stations. They change the set up periodically so if you come back often you won't get bored.
