Questions & Answers

Q: Can unlicensed guests shoot in a lane

A: I don't know what their recent rules are, but I have gone there on several occasions with people who do not have their permits, so long as they are with a person who does have a permit to carry.

- Eric Grella (6 years ago)

A: Permit Holders may bring in as many UNLICENSED guests as they like. THERE IS NO OTHER TIME RESTRICTION ON HOW LONG THEY HAVE HAD THEIR PERMIT FOR. PLEASE CALL US FOR CORRECT INFO 860-626-7345

- Tactical Arms & Indoor Shooting Range (4 years ago)

A: CT - yes as long as permit carrier has their permit over 1 year

- Smurfette Smurfette (4 years ago)

A: As long as the person you are with has their permit, you are allowed to shoot. Most ranges have this rule.

- Matt C (5 years ago)

A: I think Eric is correct. To be sure, just give them a call. Bring your driver's license as proof of ID and age

- Linda Pintoff (6 years ago)

A: You would have to check the website

Stopped in yesterday during the big rainstorm to put some lead down range. No wait for a lane, which was nice. It came out to $40 and change for 1 hour of lane time and 4 targets (each $1.00). I forgot my safety glasses in my other bag, luckily they have a few pairs you can borrow (some ranges make you purchase a pair). Range is rated for pretty much any handgun. Rifles must be <3600 fps and no AP, incendiary, or tracer, per the employees at front desk. Not sure if you must purchase the rifle ammo at the range, some places make you do that because people will bring in green tips or shoot AP and destroy the backstop. I saw a sign that shotguns must be slug only. All in all, decent indoor range. Nice that they allow rifles, as Wolfs in Bristol and Reeds in New Milford are pistol only. Ample parking and easy to get to.

I went in January to get my Glock. I wasnΓÇÖt well informed on what to look for to know the weapon is brand new. They sold me a used Glock under the premise it was brand new. My friends Glock, same exact model, feels much less used and heΓÇÖs put a couple thousand rounds through it. Dishonest, overcharges, ridiculous.

Really sad I have to leave a one star review. My husband took a class here and had good things to say, so when we needed something a few days ago, we went together. We walked in and there was a guy on the phone. He was very in the conversation- ok no big deal. I walked around a little bit. Usually you get a quick acknowledgement but nothing. Another guy walked behind the counter, again nothing. And then a 3rd guy was there and again no acknowledgement. They didn't engage with us what so ever. After continuing to wait I told my husband let's go. Only upon leaving did someone say something and he yelled out "ok! Thank you!" So rude.

Good gun shop. They are a bit overpriced, but if they have something you canΓÇÖt find anywhere else, IΓÇÖd go for it. I bought the kel tec Ksg shotgun and am more then pleased. They have a good pistol permit class, and Good shooting range as well. Ammo is expensive here but it balances out with the other services they provide. All in all, not a bad gun shop

I do all my business with Tactical and have for 5 years now. They are always very professional and willing to help answer your questions no matter how simple or complicated. Never judgemental. All my firearms have been purchased at Tactical as well. John has put parts in my Glocks multiple times and charges a reasonable fee. Has also diagnosed problems for me at no cost when he certainly could have charged. He even recommend to me a cleaner for my duty handcuffs that worked great, despite being marketed for firearms. A gun store that offers more than firearms. Great place all around with reasonable prices.

IΓÇÖve been training here on and off for many years. In all that time the year Range price has stayed the same. I mean less than $60 bucks a month for a great range you can you can use everyday if you wanted to. Great prices on Glocks so no need to travel for a good deal. The classes are great too. I did my first pistol course here and the instructor was top notch. The staffs great also, very friendly and will give you a hand with your gun if youΓÇÖre having issues or need help as a new shooter. ItΓÇÖs so great to have a high quality range in our small town. My wife and I shot there for our first time and had some issues with the gun not ejecting properly. The gentleman came out and helped us out and figured out the problem. Many thanks. Highly recommend this establishment.. Very professional. We'll be back

Great place. Allows rifles/shotguns to be fired in range with some safety guidelines (ie no buck shot, only slugs for shotguns). Knowledgeable staff and a decent selection of firearms and firearm accessories. I use tactical as my FFL for transfers as it is a fair price and prompt service. No issues with customer service -- very easy transactions and no nonsense.

I'm a fan of this gun store for sure, given the knowledgeable staff and the work theyve done on my guns. The reason I give a lower score is because of the range fans, combined with the small inventory of the store. I don't know if it's just me, but I always find myself huffing gun smoke at this range. I think it's because the fans are above and behind you, meaning the smoke will naturally rise up towards your face as it heads into the fans. In terms of inventory, I can only complain so much, given that you need capital to have more stuff. They ain't no Hoffman's, for sure. A lot of times they won't have a specific caliber ammo or a type of cleaning product I'm looking for. Anyway, I still reccomend them. I trust them with sight jobs and for sharing their knowledge on firearms. Even though their inventory is small, they still have a good selection of pistols ranging from wheel guns to semi's. And for some, it's makes more sense to go to their range/store instead of hoofing it to Newington or Wallingford.

John is very Polite, patient, knowledgeable and thorough when answering questions. This is a great small business they carry a good selection, and the indoor range is very good. ItΓÇÖs worth the trip from anywhere.

Great local shop. They have a new laser engraving machine, and a great guy to do quality Cerakote work. Only indoor range I know of around here that you can shoot rifles at too!

Nice shooting range. Store is tailored to LE but has plenty for civilians too. As well as a cerakote applicator. Some people say the owner is rude but he is just doing his part to uphold safety. Whether you like it or not, it can only help. Hes not going to give you bad advice so listen because he probably knows a lot more than you. Very knowledgeable here he gave in depth answers to all of my questions. He knows A LOT about firearms and the laws regarding them. Gave 4 stars because the range could use better ventilation but besides that good business.

The customer service is excellent and the shooting range is very nice. The staff is very friendly. However i gave then 3 stars because the place is way too pricey. I spend 60$ on 3 boxes of 50 round 9mm (theyΓÇÖre usually like 11-12$ everywhere else) and in total, between my friend and I, we spent 115$ for a single hour at the range. ThatΓÇÖs absurd.

Had the pleasure of shooting here a few months back. The staff was extremely friendly and the range is awesome. You can shoot just about anything here.

Bought and traded here before, never any issues. The owner is VERY particular about range use, and by that I mean if you are responsible and safe, you'll have a great experience. I've heard people complain that he came off as pushy, but he only reflects back the attitude he is being given. When dealing with weapons, you don't mess around, and he takes handling and selling firearms seriously. I took a class for my CT pistol permit as well, and they offer other permit classes too. Good selection of rentals to try out and fair pricing for an indoor range. Walk in and be respectful and you'll get the same treatment in return.

Walk through completely empty parking lot in to empty store to get insulted by little bald guy behind counter who mocked me in front of my daughter because I mentioned PCP air guns, which he quickly exclaimed "are not real guns". Guess Mr. Knowitall never heard of a Benjamin Bulldog .357, which many would argue is in fact a "real gun". Even in their own web pics the place looks abandoned, go ahead and look! They have all the customers they need in their empty store. Update: In response to below reply, I quoted Mr. K exactly and have a witness. I never asked to shoot anything in his range, just asked for an opinion.
