My first time at Tango Down was two weeks ago, we booked a weapons class for several ladies. I don't know where to begin. First, the staff is AMAZING!!!! Chris, Rick and Nick make you feel welcome and comfortable. For it to be a group of 10 ladies, they were very patient and assured we had correct techniques and form before moving on to a different subject. Everyone that attended the class loved it. Since they class, I've been back to the range, and I'm still getting excellent customer service. I highly recommend this place

Booked a long range bay and had high hopes since they advertised 1000 yards and a no walk camera system, unfortunately I was let down upon arrival. There camera system is not operational (they claim it's due to the hurricane last year and have no idea when it will be fixed). I was the only booking for that day and they didn't even bother to repaint the targets and all the paint was gone so spotting hits was impossible. There were also low hanging tree branches over the lane and the furthest target was 900 not 1000. Won't go back unless the fix the camera system, better maintain the lanes, repaint the targets at least once when they first open, and actually have a 1000 yard target.

The training was excellent and put me at ease especially as IΓÇÖve never fired a weapon before. They were an amazing team.

I had an absolutely fantastic time the last two times I went to tango down. I've been to other ranges in the area and no place has even come CLOSE to how great of an experience I can have at Tango Down. I'm happy to say I'll be coming to Tango down at least monthly from here on, they bagged themselves a customer for life with their professionalism and expertise. Great training courses and while they ensure you're safety, the entire visit just feels like you're in the backyard with your best friends. Best range to visit!

Looks like a lot of people had a great first time experiences at this range. I wonder what that mustΓÇÖve been like. I booked a pistol bay for two hours. I work in the Jacksonville Beach area so itΓÇÖs nearly an hour drive to get here (typical Jacksonville traffic in the middle of the day). However, I live near Ocala. I forgot to bring training ammo from home so figured IΓÇÖd be able to buy ammo at the range as advertised, ΓÇ£weΓÇÖve got you cover.ΓÇ¥ Nope. No 9mm. No frangible . I was told the boss was out picking up lunch and coming back with ammo. Boss came back with lunch. No ammo. I was there for about 45 minutes. Shot a mag of my self defense ammo just to get something out of my travel and time there. I asked if I could transfer my booking to the multipurpose bay but unfortunately I was too late as it was ready booked. Apologies were given by the young man working there at the time for not having a good first time experience, which was appreciated. So I left having wasted my time , fuel and out $70. I may try again some other time, knowing what I know now.

Cool place to shoot at! Terrible place to plan for their phone number doesn’t work. Their website is kind of iffy…wanted to come shoot today with some friends but because of the website booking there is no way to remove a booked range time wether it was paid for already or not…so ended up with a 180.00 range booking fee because you cannot edit or remove booking times….Make it make sense. No phones to call and ask about it.

I went with my family to Tango Down. It was my first time shooting and the staff member Nick was so nice and helpful. I was nervous to shoot but wanted to give it a chance for my dad and he was very helpful and made the whole experience feel safe. I definitely recommend this place to try shooting. Thank you Nick!

Just found my new favorite gun range, hands down! The pistol bays with steel targets are perfect for breaking in a new gun and running through plenty of drills. ItΓÇÖs hands down my go-to spot whenever IΓÇÖm in the area. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend! Big shout out to Will, hopefully I converted him to team prodigy!

A group of my colleagues and I went out for some pistol and rifle training including basics in moving and shooting. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and generally all around great people. I will certainly be taking my family and friends to Tango Down for basic pistol and/or rifle shooting in the future. I cannot possibly give these amazing folks high enough accolades.

The range and staff are nothing short of phenomenal!! My wife, myself, and some friends did the pistol proficiency course over the weekend at it was awesome!!! Rick and Chris were super knowledgeable, patient, and hilarious! Especially since we all had different levels of experience we all walked away very happy and excited for the advanced course!! My wife is eager for more range time now haha

Great Training [hybrid pistol and Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) class] with Rick and Chris!!!!! They taught me and my cousin combat proven methods and techniques to effectively draw & shoot pistols on the move, reload on the move, transition from PCC to pistol, and switch shoulders with our PCC to engage threats around both sides of any available cover. They helped us both to shoot MUCH better with our support hand & off our support shoulder, how to work from cover exposing as little of yourself as possible to any threat, and to ALWAYS be safe in handling our firearms. Rick and Chris make a great team; they are keen observers, give clear instructions, are patient and encouraging, very funny, and thorough. You will NOT be disappointed with their classes! Just bring yourself, some water and gatorade [it gets hot out there!], the desire to learn, and a good attitude. Well worth the price [which is VERY competitive]. I look forward to training with them again when the temperature cools a bit here in Florida. My cousin wants to train with them again also.

I brought my 11 year old son to Tango Down for his first shooting experience. I wanted him to be trained by the best. Rick, Chris, and Nick far exceeded my expectations. The training was exceptional. My son was given all of the tools to shoot multiple firearms with confidence, ensuring safety was always the main focus. This was a great experience and I would recommend any parent, no matter your experience level, to have the Tango Down team work with you and/or your children to demonstrate the tools necessary to be a great shooter, and fully understand gun safety. TDSC advertises themselves as Jacksonvilles first public outdoor range. I think Gateway Rifle and Pistol Club might disagree. The rates are $40 per hour, per person. $20/ hour for members. GRPC charges $20 per day. Members are free and can bring a guest. The long ranges are barely 4 feet wide, slots cut into the swamp and overgrown with branches and brush. No clear line of sight. And my personal favorite, shooting bays are aimed at the parking lot with only sand bag barriers. Did I mention the parking lot is a mud hole? The whole place is a "no walk" range. That means i need to wait for an attendant to staple my paper targets 20 feet away, While I'm paying 40 per hour. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad reviews, but I won't be in a hurry to get back there. I would like to counter point to the owners response. The cost schedule is not debated. That stands as accurate. If you don't do paper targets I can respect that. That is your operational prerogative. The shooting lanes are as I stated and not contested by the owner. The assembly of a HESCO Bastion is unfold heavy duty bag, fill it with sand soil or gravel. In my visit I witnessed sand utilization in the HESCO units. HESCO units were developed because smaller sand bags were labor intensive. Still the weapons fired are aimed at the parking lot. My statement stands as accurate. Now for the last part of your response. I have been to your range. I had been invited to visit by one of your employees the week prior to your grand opening. So yes, I have been off of my living room couch and thanks for insulting all the fine people who own manufactured homes. Now I am quite sure I will not support you or the affiliated St. Augustine Practical Shooting Club. As a side note, GWRPC has been in operation since 1965.

By far the best range we've been too. Rick and the guys are very professional, knowledgeable and patient. Clean facilities with air conditioning, shaded pistol and multi range bays. Great food. Cooked onsite to order Veteran Owned. If you're looking for a gun range to further your skills and knowledge, this is the place to go.

This is the best range I've experienced! The facility is top notch, available targets, range space, and RSOs that care about your training make it unmatched. I brought my son out to learn firearms safety and pistol basics, the time and coaching that the staff volunteered to my son had him pinging metal by the second magazine. An outstanding facility with incredible people!

Tango down is the premier spot to go to a gun range. Rick and co took care of my friends and I for my bachelor trip. Rick is extremely professional and such a humble guy along with all of his assistants. We were about to have whole range to ourselves and did really extraordinary scenarios that my friends and I will never forget. We shot all type of guns and even moved while shooting. Rick and co gave us excellent training and combat maneuvers that trained us really well. We all had a blast and an unforgettable experience with him. Rick and Tango Down is the cream of the crop when it comes to gun ranges and is definitely in a class by themselves. They also made us all feel really comfortable and are a great bunch of humble individuals that really know how to have fun along with a ton of laughter. Amazing experience! One of the best gun ranges I have been to. Owner and the workers are friendly and very cool to be around. We were able to use a variety of different guns. They showed us correct tactics and spent a considerable amount of time with us. Awesome experience and would definitely come back.

If you are looking for the ultimate range experience, coupled with profound professionalism...TangoDown Shooting Complex is your place. The owner and TD staff are very knowledgeable and welcoming. I recommend TD 10/10 times to beginners and advance shooters. The facility is also state of the art, clean, and veteran owned / operated. I won't shoot anywhere else! Best range IΓÇÖve tried in Jacksonville Florida. Traveled to Tango Down from Orlando Florida after seeing that they had a long range course. Was immediately greeted by the owner Rick and one of his team members Nick. Range was friendly safe and leading with futuristic technology. I would recommend to all first time shooters and experience shooters. Will definitely be returning. Thanks !!
