I took the Fundamental Level 1 class today with Jason as the Instructor and I absolutely love his teaching style and the way he verbalized information in a way that it stick in your mind easily. Also everyone at the facility were lovely, helpful and encouraging and I see myself coming back for more classes and getting back on the range. Thank you all for the great experience.

I started coming to this place over 15 years ago and have always had a pleasant experience each time I go. I started out going to use the range and then some time later to purchase a firearm. Most recently I opted to have Target World facilitate a couple of form 4 items which is what prompted this review. This was my first time going through this process and the entire staff is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and most importantly in my opinion patient. I've called them with the most random questions and no matter what they always look to be helpful or point you in the right direction to find the help you need. They have earned my trust and my continued support for any and all firearm needs going forward.

I took a Pistol Fundamentals Level 1 class with Dan Carr and it was well worth it. I'm looking into getting more familiar with handguns and this was the perfect class. Dan started from the beginning and by the end, we were in the range. Dan kept it simple but he made it make sense while keeping safety as the top priority.

This establishment would, and could be a leader in the area of range safety. If that is truly the goal, their staff is the biggest impediment. Their website should clearly state the requirements for shooting there. 1. Bring your picture identification. 2. For handgun shooters especially: If you are not a very experienced, frequent and recent shooter, have not taken a formal training class, or cannot physically prove that you are a safe shooter with knowledge of handgun safety, you will not be permitted to shoot here. If the website had this fully and clearly stated, I would have walked in and immediately asked for and gladly paid for a full training class or even a course. I truly appreciate the focus on safety. I don't want to be at a range with an unsafe shooter. However, my experience and that of quite a few reviewers here, is lessened when we are greeted as though we are not welcome. I think that is a smart thing for a responsible gun owner to take a class. My family was not offered instruction, we were just told that we would have to prove that we could safely handle a handgun. I could go on about my and my family's firearms training because we do have it, but that is not the point. The range has their safety rules and they want them followed for the safety of all. There is no argument or opinion when it comes to safety. It is or it isn't. But please, make it abundantly clear so that honest, reasonable people can be prepared.

IΓÇÖve shot at this place many times over the years. The last couple times IΓÇÖve come IΓÇÖve had to write down in detail how much shooting experience IΓÇÖve had with each gun. The RSO expected me to demonstrate my shooting abilities with a fake gun. I wanted to bring my wife here to teach her to shoot. I bet this place would give me a hard time trying to do that and ultimately reject her entering the range. Go somewhere else thatΓÇÖs worth your while. ClaytonΓÇÖs, survival trail. I promise theyΓÇÖre better than this place.

Very disappointed with the service today. After been for more than 2 years a member of the shooting club today they wanted to charge me $10 for a training. Completely out of sense. Bye, bye! You lost a client for $10.

Amazing experience as a first time gun owner. I wanted to take a class before making my first purchase so I signed up for Pistol Fundamentals Level 1 with Jason Wolf. Jason was professional, engaging, and knowledgeable. We first learned safety and then accuracy. After an hour long active-learning class we hit the range and were paired off in groups of three to one instructor. The training felt personal and I learned a lot. Planning to return for their PA Laws class and concealment. They stress safety and professionalism at this store. Every employee I encountered was awesome and informative. I did well on the range (wasnΓÇÖt my first time shooting) so I was cleared to try some pistols on the range with help from Rich and had a great time (thanks again man!). Went upstairs and made my first purchase with a helpful salesman Jason. Hopefully IΓÇÖm remembering everyoneΓÇÖs name correctly, truly appreciated the help and looking forward to returning. No way I would have made these shots if it wasnΓÇÖt for the awesome instruction, keep in mind I hadnΓÇÖt shot a gun in years, testament to the instructorΓÇÖs ability to teach! Jason was describing some cool neuroscience behind accuracy and as a scientist myself, my guy is ready to give a lecture on perception and sight! Very cool stuff.

Range time more expensive what most competitors are in the area and they don't really offer much to justify that price. Fudd range officers who get their depends in a bunch. Prices are competitive but their salesmen can be a little leery. (There I adjusted my review to be more accurate you're still charging more than the competition for no discernable reason) If you want to purchase arms & ammo go to tanners, if you want a good range that doesn't discriminate and doesn't ruin your experience go to Classic Pistol or wicens they charge less and aren't acting like car salesmen.

For first time gun owners, or people looking to have a safe place to learn and practice. This is the place for you. To start off, everyone I met has been awesome, and explained everything in detail to what they require, and what you should expect when using the range or purchasing anything from them. I took the required safety course with Diego, and he made it fun, while also stressing the importance of handling fire arms. His help on the range for the first time made something a little nerve wracking feel completely natural. Cannot recommend him enough! The guys working the range took plenty of time to also stress the importance of safety, and weren't overbearing in the range, but would let you know if they thought something needed tweaking. Helpful for beginners. And they make sure you, and everyone around you were being as safe as one can be. Fast forward to purchasing a handgun from them, they made that process also fun, and informative. You can tell they love what they do. Tom, took a decent amount of time to walk me through what he thought was best for me based off my needs. He didn't miss any details, and had an answer for every question. You are able to use their tester version of the handgun you want on the range before making the purchase which was super helpful, so I knew I was making the right decision. Also shoutout the everyone else who double and triple checked the paperwork to make sure there were absolutely no mistakes. Target World is the best around!

My initial visit to the establishment was characterized by some unusual occurrences. I underwent a standard background check in order to purchase a firearm, and due to the fact that I possess two last names, there was some confusion regarding my identity. Following the clarification of this issue, I proceeded to complete the registration process, during which I was unexpectedly asked to undergo an additional background check validation, a procedure which I had not previously encountered. Subsequently, my experience at the shooting range proved to be disappointing and marred by prejudice. I was interrogated about my proficiency in shooting, instructed to practice with a simulated firearm lacking actual recoil, and questioned about my marksmanship abilities. To compound matters, I was ultimately denied access to the range under the guise of insurance liability concerns, with a suggestive attempt to interest me in enrolling in a shooting class instead. In response to this treatment, I promptly redirected my patronage elsewhere and would recommend others to do the same. It is evident that the establishment caters to a specific clientele to which I do not conform.

High tech range for discerning shooters. Great membership plans. Pretty good store. What I appreciate as a member here is the quality of the range and emphasis on CUSTOMER safety. It's not about taking every dollar and letting every random person off the street play with guns around dozens of other people. This obviously frustrates some, but the expectations are not onerous if you can display basic skills, have some relevant experience, and don't throw up any flags for concern. This sport can attract some numnuts, and other people who don't respect the danger mishandling firearms poses. Experienced shooters don't want them in the next booth, and are happy the staff evaluates the trustworthiness and screens out potentially risky people out. It's not worth it. If you don't get that, that's why you didn't make it onto the range. Skill up, take a course, check your ego, and be welcomed back.

It was not a pleasant experience trying to get information for a pistol purchase. The salesman wasnΓÇÖt very knowledgeable and he had me point at the paper wall target and then criticized the way I pulled the trigger. He didnΓÇÖt tell me that I was going to get graded on it. Really? IΓÇÖm a veteran and I have been hunting for over 50 years, sometimes with a pistol. Instead of purchasing the pistol there, I went up to CabelaΓÇÖs and the salesmen there were very professional and knowledgeable. I purchased the pistol I wanted with a 5% veterans discount on both the pistol and ammunition. Target World never thanked me for my service, but at CabelaΓÇÖs I had several employees thank me for my service. What a difference!

Went to try to shoot the other day and was told I couldn't because of something I did the previous time. No explanation but apparently I need to take a class on gun safety like I hadn't been grilled and put on trial all the other times. I'm done with this place. Good riddance.

Worst experience ever, I entered the store with my friend and met a nice guy in the first floor, treated me with respect, went to the second floor to purchase a smith and Wesson and the guy tells me he smells marijuana so he canΓÇÖt sell it to us, and that ΓÇ£or I probably have a sinus issueΓÇ¥ I told him IΓÇÖm Muslim and fasting and never smoked marijuana, he didnΓÇÖt seem to care, he was persistent we smelled like marijuana l, I asked if someone else can maybe come near us to see if they smell marijuana and he denied me, IΓÇÖm wearing a $500 dollar cologne creed Adventist ready to spend money on a smith and Wesson, to me it looked like the old guy on the second floor was a racist peace of $hit. Never coming back here and never spending a dollar. People of color keep your distance before he starts smelling ΓÇ£marijuanaΓÇ¥ and donΓÇÖt tell me that you listened to an ΓÇ£off duty copΓÇ¥ yet you wouldnΓÇÖt listen to me? Seems like youΓÇÖll take the white mans words. When I clearly stated I was Muslim and fasting! Yall have no respect at all.

way overpriced, rude & racist staff. honestly, don't bother. (Nothing to do with safety as the owner mendaciously says over and over again LOL. Do they even understand the internet?) here's a list of alternatives I have found to be MUCH better: 1. Tanner's Sports Center 2. Art Knives (New Hope) 3. The Bunker (& The Bunker 2) 4. Continental Armory 5. Country Knives (Lancaster County)

I have been shooting for over 50 years. I took my Pennsylvania Hunter's safety course when I was 11 years old. However, I have never been instructed by an NRA certified instructor, so I figured it was about time to learn the correct way and to unlearn any bad habits I may have picked up along the way. I signed up for a 1 hour one-on-one instructional with Dan Carr. When I showed up, Dan politely and professionally greeted me and made me feel welcome and comfortable. I explained to Dan what my experience level was and that I wanted a trained professional to teach me correct grip, stance, trigger pull, site reacquisition, etc. Dan could not have been better. He explained things using real world examples, answered every question I had, and after an hour, I left Target World as I much better shooter than I was what I walked in with 50 years of casual learning behind me. Just goes to show that there is always somebody out there who is better and more experienced. It just takes leaving your ego at the door and opening your mind up to being taught. Also, I purchased a used Ruger Mark II target pistol from George upstairs the same week. George couldn't have been a more pleasant individual to work with.

Pros: State of the art range, good inventory. Cons: Cost $85 for my 2 sons and I to shoot for 35 minutes. $30 to register. 1. Total money grab, no other range does this. Blame it on insurance needing the forms all you want, $10 each is gouging. 2. Are you doing the ATFE's work for them?? All those documents are easily subpoenaed. Not very pro2A!!! Next: Only range that has unloaded all my magazines to run a magnet to see what steel cased because that ammo can't be used. My son and I had spent an hour loading them this morning. Approximately 200 rounds weren't "allowed ". Of course, they had ammo to sell me. At retail+ prices. They needed to check for tracers because someone had almost burned the range down a few years back. The concrete block range with the big cinder/sand pile at the back and the flame retardant ceiling tiles and the concrete floor. Would have needed napalm!!! If you are going to overcharge me, don't lie to my face while you do it!! I've been to too many ranges to tolerate this. I will never return to this business. I reviewed the other comments to see if my experience was unique. It's not. Hiding behind the safety motto and insurance to cover horrible costumer service, price gouging.

My wife and I recently tried to shoot at the Target World range. Even though we're both experienced shooters and have shot there safely before, and even though my wife can handle a firearm safely, they required her to take a really stupid test. They handed her a toy handgun that fires a light beam and asked her to shoot at a target on the wall. The fellow in charge (who seems to have a superiority, know-it-all complex) then criticized her, said she waived the toy gun around, implying she handled it dangerously, and, therefore, she would need to take their safety course for $99 before being allowed to shoot at the range. Firstly, she didn't waive it around. She picked it up and pointed it at the target. It's a TOY GUN! The whole episode exhibits a clever marketing tool to generate another $99 in revenue. I've shot trap and skeet since 1979 and am a current member of a local sportsman's club. I've shopped at Target World over the years for shooting supplies. My wife and I won't be returning to Target World to shop or use their range--ever! Clayton's is much more reasonable and accommodating. ________________________________________________________________ In response to the owner's reply to my original post above, I would tell him that the issue was about safely handling a firearm, which applies equally to shotguns, rifles, and handguns, all of which I've shot since I was 16 years old, including in the army and on a college rifle team. As far as the staff at the range that offended my wife and me, I would say I was shooting for about 30 years before they were born. I've now been handling firearms for over 60 years, and my wife has been handling them for over 14 years. I see a pattern of targeting especially women who arrive to shoot at the range, probably assuming they're easy, willing targets of the marketing of the training class. I would suggest to him that he should consider re-educating his staff. Lastly, since our experience of a few months ago, in speaking of that experience, I've had responses of others who also have had negative experiences at Target World. Fortunately, there a good alternatives for buying firearms and shooting supplies and for using a shooting range for practice.

Stay away. The moment you walk in you will be treated as a dangerous individual. They treat you with blatant disrespect and always have an attitude. It starts at the top. Its a shame.
