The Compass Training Center

I highly recommend this facility. As a late bloomer to the world of firearms, they have been invaluable in guiding me through the process of buying and learning about my first pistol. Classes like " Find the pew that fits you", "Pistol Fundamentals" and "Ladies of Compass" have helped me gain the confidence to continue and practice on my own at the range. The instructors are all first rate. They are very knowledgeable and safety conscious. It feels like a big family there and that makes it comfortable for a single woman. I especially appreciate the patience and support for a beginner like myself. Thank you, Gina, Lynn and Jim, for all your instruction in and out of the classroom. Also, thank you to the range supervisors. You all are so great! :)

Compass Training Center has been my headquarters for perfecting my ability to defend myself and loved ones from a threat. I have been training for 5 years now and have met other women who are as focused as I am on firearms training. We train monthly together in classes that cover every aspect of ΓÇ£real lifeΓÇ¥ defensive shooting. The owners and staff are always welcoming and dedicated to helping me achieve my shooting goals. I completed the Draw from Holster Certification course this weekend and can't say enough good things about the course and the instructors. This was my first firearm training, both Lynn and Jim were very patient and great instructors! They helped me make some adjustments in grip and stance that have already made a difference. Both dry and live fire homework was provided to continue practicing and improving. I'm already looking forward to taking the pistol skill builder course next. Thanks again for a great class!

Buyer beware! Over a year ago I stopped going to The Granite Mountain Outlaws because of the guy that runs it, Tramp. I decided to go back again today, what a mistake! There is a reason that club only has 10-15 shooters at their matches. Screaming at people and not following SASS rules, theyΓÇÖll never get a dime from me again. Too bad his wife, Patty, doesnΓÇÖt run it, sheΓÇÖs awesome.

Great shooting facility. Staff, from check-in to range safety officers are all top notch. Have a pistol range and rifle range at 100 yards. Equipment and lanes are all in great shape. Excellent outdoor facility.

My 9 year grandson and I attended the kids class and it was fantastic. The professional instructors focused on safety, education and fun. If you have both firearms an children in your home this class is a must! Compass teaches responsible gun ownership and safety. I learned as much as my grandson. Thank you Lynn and Jim!

My visit today was not for the range. It was for what it just located at the entrance. Our beautiful 9/11 Memorial. I'm so proud of my town for finding a peaceful place to setup this memorial. There are two benches here where you can sit for awhile, peaceful and quiet. Prayers and a salute to those souls who lost their lives on that fateful day and thereafter in the war. Don't forget to grab a paper before you go. It has information on donating if you'd like to put a message engraving on the available bricks. ❤️

A week ago I took the CCW Class. My instructors were Gina and Lynn. I can't say enough about the ability, knowledge and teaching skill of both of them. They instruct with a great attitude, and they really emphasize the importance of safety. I liked that the class splits time for both classroom and range instruction. On the range I learned that I probably did not have the right gun or holster for doing my best at CCW and I would not have known that without their help. I got a lot out of this class and I am sure you would too.

IΓÇÖm sharing on my fatherΓÇÖs google account! I recently had a get to know your AR class at compass training. Jim and Lynn were amazing in showing me the breakdown of the rifle for cleaning, how to stand and hold and eventually hitting the range and sighting it in. The instructors at compass are always friendly, informative, and helpful!! They really want you to succeed and do well! They even share very helpful tips on what works for them to help you achieve your best! This is my familyΓÇÖs ΓÇ£ go to rangeΓÇ¥ for sure! “Watch your muzzle!” “Don’t touch the bench!!! The range is cold!!”…. You’ll definitely get yelled at if you don’t follow the rules exactly, but these are some really nice people and I have always have a good time here. We even had a cease-fire once to let a deer wonder through!

Everyone at Compass has been super helpful and really nice to deal with. John and Gina are always super welcoming and easy to deal with. They have a ton of space to shoot, whether it be pistols, rifles, shotguns or if you want a little bit longer range, they have it. I recommend everyone check them out whether you are a beginner or have ample trigger time. Also, Lynn and Jim are two of the coolest RSOΓÇÖs I have had the pleasure of working with! EDIT: Their ΓÇ£Find Your GunΓÇ¥ event on the last Sunday of every month is FANTASTIC for new or experienced shooters looking to try different guns before they buy! Went to "find your gun" on Sunday. Had a great time Gina and Lynn were very informative and helpful. Not knowing much about hand guns it was a good class.

Nice little range. The ROs are professional and friendly. I forgot the guys name but one RO spent a lot of time helping me get more familiar with my rifle and helped me zero in. Gave me some good tips on shooting as well.

I just finished a two day R.E.A.C.T. class (Rapid Engagement and Concealed Tactics) taught by Fabled Horse Solutions. The class was fantastic, and the facility is great.

Very nice and professional range officers. Me and buddy had a blast there. The scenery around the range was amazing as well. We tried both the pistol range and the rifle range, it's very clear to us that safety is their priority, they made sure that we understood and follow the rules! Would definitely come again.

What a wonderful experience I had at the Compass Training Center. I need some additional instruction with my rifle and my instructor John was just what I was looking for. The range was a safe and enjoyable experience. The people I meet on the range were friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend the Compass Training Center ΓÇö IΓÇÖll be back for more instruction.

I took a four hour Pistol I course on one of their outdoor ranges and had a fantastic day with four others and our trainer, Lynn. First of all these people know exactly what they are doing and they do it extraordinarily well. They are true professionals who place safety 1-2 & 3 in their list of priorities. This is not special, ALL gun ranges should be this focused, but I can confirm without a doubt that this place is locked and loaded on safety. Lynn is a master of her craft and it was an honor to have been instructed by her. It was a fantastic day out and I cannot wait to take Pistol 2. Highly recommended!

Excellent range with outstanding instructors teaching classes in safe handling and manipulation of pistol and rifle drills . There is much to get proficient in using firearms and one goes home with a desire to get very good with malfunction correction to stay in the fight. . Can hardly wait for more classes.

Sorry to say that I won't be back. Your range officer basically kicked us off the range. I was having feeding problems with my new semiautomatic rifle. Your rep attempted to help but only made matters worse because he knew nothing at all about the gun. We were keeping the gun pointed down range and abiding by all range rules. If your rep had left us alone we would have been fine. Instead your rep told us we couldn't use the gun because of the problems we were having and in effect kicked us off the range. Again. I will never use your range again!

Visited Compass after purchasing a new pistol. After seeing the impressive operation and meeting two instructors and a owner, I knew that a year membership would be a great value for my family. The constant class schedule allowed me to take the basic pistol class that week. Wow was the class awesome. Safety safety safety, as I was taught by my father as young man, was what I wanted and received! The extreme attention to every detail for all levels of student experience in the class was excellent. After I truly felt reacquainted and properly reintroduced to pistol safety and use. I confidently would recommend Compass as the place you need, for all levels of experience and continued training. I will now be entrusting my wife and 15 year old son to Compass for safety and proficiency training. I'm also super excited to complete my Draw from the Holster Certificate Course and my AZ Concealed Weapons Permit Course completed all in less the 3 weeks! Like I said a constant class schedule at Compass. This will be essential to my families safety in our changing world.

Completed the Beginner Half Day Pistol Class yesterday and would highly recommend this class. Our instructor, Lynn, was excellent. Some of the more important items we learned were proper stance, hand grip and safety measures. I can truly say I feel much more confident carrying my pistol and knowing how to use it properly. Would give 10 stars if allowed!

Great range! The RSO's do a good job keeping things safe and are not over bearing. Always willing to help. I look forward to longer distances coming soon I hear. I would also like to see IDPA or some other practical competitions. My friend and I have become members and shoot every week. I'm building a home just a couple miles away and see myself spending a lot of time there in the future.

Fun place great people reasonable prices and definitely fair minded individuals. However charging $5 per bullet in cheap wood frames is a bit unreal. If my 12 year old daughter had gone it would have cost me a fortune. I think $10 per frame would be sufficient for replacement of these wood frames. I will not be going back because of this policy not because of any other reason. I want my child to learn to shoot but I don't think anyone should be charged an outrageous fortune when someone is learning.

They are friendly and easy to get along with. But the reason I am giving them a 3 star rating is because they use cheap frames for the targets and with every bullet that hits the frame they charge you an extra 5 dollars per bullet. I understand the need for the money to replace the frames because the costs add up. But for cheap frames the whole amount for the frames should only be a total of five bucks not five bucks per bullet.

Great place to train. The staff is competent and laid back. Eye pro, ear pro, ammo and accessories available on site. RSO's project the right combination of confidence and awareness through my visits. Draw from the holster certification for the range was a great experience.

I participated in the first CCW class that John held. Fantastic class with excellent information. John used numerous real life situations on whether to pull leather or not. After classroom, we went on the range for one on one training. John wants to know if you know how to handle your weapon and if you are safe in using it before signing off on your certificate. We put around 75 rounds downrange in different scenarios. Then we went to qualify on a different range. Having the chance to "warmup" with the first 75 rounds, made the qualifications a breeze. I highly recommend all men and women to take this course!
