Q: How much is a lane for the day, non-member?
A: $40.00 for non-members. Hope to see you soon!

Q: Is there a shotgun range here?
A: Yes, but nothing can be fired into the air, such as skeet shooting. It is a tactical range for slug and 00 Buck ONLY being fired into stationary targets. You must call to make a reservation to use the tactical range, which is $45.00 per person, and you will be supervised by one of our RSOs.

Such a great place! I was trying to surprise my husband with a ΓÇ£guys dayΓÇ¥ for his birthday. Maya helped me get it all figured out, even helped me know what amo to purchase based off the guns he had in the safe. Haha! They were very professional and kept everyoneΓÇÖs safety a top priority. We were impressed and will definitely be back!

I'm writing this review on behalf of my husband. (Allan) He loved the set-up. He had a great shooting experience and will be going back. The negative reviews on here are ridiculous. If you read & follow the rules you shouldn't have any issues. He appreciated how the owner was professional & took the time to explain whatever questions or concerns he had. He also appreciated the fact he didn't have to pick up after himself (like the one in Caddo Mills) He found a NEW place to go and shoot his guns. This is what a gun range should be about. Safety, instruction and fun. CJ, Lynn and Maya (the owners and family) were awesome. I highly recommend anyone who enjoys shooting and wants to do it safely, come to The Compound.

Awesome range. No nonsense, SAFE gun range. I'd rate them a 10 but there aren't enough stars.

Black dude talks about you cant shoot an AK without a scope but you can shoot a pistol without a scope?! Pathetic bro, take your money elsewhere. Update After Owner Response: Yes, Shooting a AK through your sights is perfectly safe. I see you pick and choose your customers, kind of racist if you ask me. Been to hundreds of other ranges in texas with no issues. You are an African American man on a power trip. Malcom X would be disappointed my man. Will be telling all neighbors, friends, and family about you. Goodluck.

Great experience at The Compound today. Set your expectations when you go. This place is ran by a military/law enforcement guy and his family. He takes the safety of his staff and customers seriously and he will not take your feelings into consideration if you put either at risk. Follow the rules and be respectful to the staff and I suspect you'll enjoy your time. But know ahead of time, there is a high standard when it comes to the rules. Ammo is pricey though.

Worst range I've been to I was ripped on for shooting 357 mag on the rifle range even though I was allowed to shoot my 45/70 on the same range. Like what??? And I saw a couple shooting on the pistol range and the dude was literally getting ripped on I actually kind of felt bad I went to go talk to them and told them to go the McKinney range instead. These people are control freaks; like I get it you have your rules ok just to be a holes when enforcing them. But if anyone wants to go to a good range go to the McKinney range The Range cool people I even bought an AK from them.

The Compound is the best place for target practice, and it keeps getting better. The new owner is former secret service, knows everything about handling guns and is always teaching. His staff are very courteous and knowledgeable with a constant focus on safety.

My husband has gone to this place for 8yrs and even with the management changes he still loves to go. CJ is very knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. The upgrades happening are great and safety is definitely a priority! I am even excited to learn he has a ladies class available I will be looking into that. Definitely go and give this place a chance if you have not done so recently!

It's sad to say, from what I was told the sheriff bought this and ruined it. Just a cash crop hole. Better off going the extra few miles to alpine. 10 to 20 no membership fees. More options better prices. Sad to see greed ruined this place.

Range was ran extremely well and staff/RSOΓÇÖs were amazing. Such an upgrade from Armadillo gun range ran by different owners. Looks like I found my new home range!

I want to love this place but the fees are just too high to stomach. 40$ every visit for non members, lowest membership is $200! And you still pay $25 in fees every visit! The higher tiers just get silly. If membership pricing is drastically lowered this would be an ideal spot. I don't think the range fees are justified. The pulley system to retrieve targets are a straight to use. Old chains on a pulley really wear your hands and shoulders out. Securing targets with masking tape isn't ideal either. Masking tape doesn't stick at all. $200 is way too high.

Followed the posted steps to obtain my LTC on their website. Just took the Proficiency part and passed but not without needing direction on a few minor proper handling of my handgun. I took Clarence advise to heart as he is the expert in the field, not me. Dealing with a firearm, one must follow the proper ways to handle, shoot and store and if you are not up to taking reasonable corrective instruction, maybe you should not have a firearm. I recommend The Compound Nevada if you are a serious about learning the RIGHT and PROPER way to safely handle your firearm.

Lady up front running the shop was lovely; whether he intends to be or not the man running the range was rude / condescending. You will catch more returning bees (customers) with honey! Might give this place a shot again in the future to see if things change but wasnΓÇÖt overly pleased with my first experience.

Not a great experience. Had a firearm transfer done today at this range. First time there since new ownership. The guys at Armadillo gun range were always really cool, easy to talk to and priced fair. Today, I was greeted with an owner that had a bad attitude, condescending, barked at my wife and his, and then I had the pleasure of being charged twice as much as most local transfers. The shop is now owned by Clarence and his wife. Clarence is a police officer that apparently has a tough time dealing with anything outside of normal life. Proceeded cautiously. The wife and daughter were very pleasant and I actually thought twice about leaving this review just because of them. Take your business elsewhere, this guy is ready to snap.

This range is run by really good people. The range has a lot. You can shoot far, close, open/tactical area if bench shooting isn't your thing.

Yesterday, I came to meet up with the Ladies of Caliber, but I ran late and the ladies were on they're way out. The owner graciously stayed with me. He helped me shoot my 9mm handgun for the 1st time. I learned how to stand, hold the gun properly, aim, and pull the trigger correctly. At first, I was very nervous & shaking. I left there feeling educated (learned the gun was too much for me lol 😆 for a beginner). I will definitely go back. Thanks to the Owner for all help and Mrs.Gail Spann for introducing me to TCN.

The staff were friendly and range master was professional and helpful. Prices on shells and FFL are about the same as a tactical shop I used in Rockwall.

While it was a little pricey the facilities are nice, clean and the staff was incredibly nice, Caleb took time to help me sight in a new rifle and scope shot by shot, rare hospitality, well worth a few extra bucks.

I've practiced with a women's shooting group at this range several times in recent weeks. The pistol range is clean and comfortable to shoot on and the safety enforcement seems to be top notch. The owners have been very helpful, whether it was with first aid supplies, quick sugar snacks or information on equipment. I'll be back :-)

First time back here since the new ownership, price seem kind at high for a one day shoot, no military discount, and not as relaxed as it use to be. No complaints, but if youΓÇÖre just wanting to shoot your pistol, or rifle for the day, you will find better rates elsewhere.

I came to learn to shoot for the first time, & had a horrible experience. the owner was yelling at us the entire time, being very disrespectful and was basically laughing in our face. As a beginner you go to the shooting range to learn, he silenced our instructor and took over and began to yell saying we were doing it wrong, instead of correcting us. I was more uncomfortable with the owner than I was the gun. If youΓÇÖre a beginner thinking about learning how to shoot this is NOT the place. As the OWNER of range you should respect your customers as we were respectful to you.

Been coming here some years before the new ownership (when it used to be Armadillo range). New ownership (the Compound) are really special people, they bring a special warmth and unique perspective to the business (and shooting). Highly would recommend this range, you won't be disappointed!
