Great place to train, when I went there was a dispute between The Sawmill and neighbors and there was a noise ordinance in place. So we were not able to operate after dusk. Not sure how that is now, but the complex is amazing.

Recently attended the two day Evolutionary Gunfighter course with Dutch and it was nothing short of awesome. Dutch made sure to spend time with each participant to hone and grow skills. Dutch is an absolute wealth of knowledge and a master at sharing it! I'm only rating this 5 stars, because that's the max. The facility itself is outstanding, great training area and lodging. I look forward to attending more classes. If you are considering taking a class here, i highly recommend it.

I've been here twice for events and really enjoyed myself both times. It's a great campus with a lot of varied shooting locations. I will almost certainly be back in the future as they continue to host events (despite living 5 hours away)

Highly recommend this place for everyone who'd like to develop or improve their shooting skills. I already took 2 classes so can speak from experience: I was a complete newbie with rifles, afraid even to take it out of a scabbard, but after a Basic rifle class with Tom the anxiety is gone and I can shoot, properly react on malfunction and even take apart my M1A. An Advanced pistol class today was great too - a lot to learn from and work on as well. Also, the community there is great and everyone is very encouraging and supportive!

I canΓÇÖt express how amazing this place and the people there are/were with me. I show up for a class being put on by an outside company. The class had been canceled and I had not gotten the email. I was pretty devastated about that whole experience but "Dutch" really saved my weekend. He told me he had a class that was more in depth and for a more experienced shooter but he was ok with me joining considering my situation. He explained it to his class when they all got there and they were all ok with it knowing that having me in the class could and would take time away from them. To the people in the class, I thank you for being such a welcoming and fun group. To Dutch, I thank you for your kindness, patience and for giving me an amazing weekend. This facility is truly a wonderland for your training needs. The people and staff that I ran into were all just great to be around. I felt 100% safe at all times and learned so much. Others in the class that had done a lot of these types of classes in the past at other locations were all talking about how this was by far the best place and class they had been to. This was my first class like this so I have no real reference point. I can tell you that I have already singed up for another one of DutchΓÇÖs classes and I plan to spend as much time out there as I can afford to do. Thank you, Joe S

Great experience! Top knotch lodging, Range maintenance has been kept up really well, The team that runs this place are amazing. Great communication, everyone was friendly and helpful if needed. They brought out more target to one the ranges that we were on. We had full access to every range they have onsite when paying for the ΓÇ£range dayΓÇ¥. WeΓÇÖve decided to visit quarterly. You wonΓÇÖt be disappointed! And we drove 3.5hrs to get here.

Great place to get better with your shooting technique. Buying more guns and more ammo aren't the answer. Learn how to use them properly is the key. World class instructors with real world experience. Highly recommend a class with Dutch.

I participated in the snub nose revolver round-up and the Sawmill Training Complex was a new venue for me. The quarters provided for students were in close proximity to the actual training facilities which saved crucial time. Sawmill also has camping grounds which I utilized to cut down on the overall cost to me as a student. The ranges were well maintained, and safe for the students. The Sawmill staff provided outstanding support which allowed the instructors to focus on training. Lastly, the blueberry pancakes are much better here than the ones in Dahlonega. I highly recommend the Sawmill Training Complex.

Some of the best training, if not the best training, I have ever had in 18yrs as LE, 16 of those SRT, 15 yrs as LE firearms instructor, and prior military. The team is awesome to learn from and just great all around. If you are looking to have fun, learn, and perfect your craft this is the place. Go see for yourself and then you will understand!

Can't say enough good things about this place, the courses they offer and the instructors you'll meet. The facility: its huge! They have a bunch of ranges at their disposal. Everything from close range paper/steel, shoot houses, long distance. Depending on the course you can easily jump between several of them to learn different applications. The lodge is great! Two floors of rooms for staying overnight that have everything you need for your stay. A gym, a pool table, full kitchen, firepit, a pro-shop for extra gear and swag. It's a fun time even when you're not training. The courses: they have something for everyone! Whether you're a beginner or a 30 year vet, you'll find all levels of shooters in the courses. The calendar is packed with courses that are incredibly fun and insightful throughout the year. I'd recommend bringing an extra 100 rounds over what they say in the course description because you will go over. The courses are packed with information that will help you understand the philosophy of different engagements and utilization of your weapon system to make you better. The instructors: the people that run the Sawmill are top-notch guys. Their real world experience and relatable instruction makes it easy to learn and be better. "Dutch" Chris Moyer has a long history of experience in the Army and Special Operations Command. He breaks things down so even beginners can grasp the concepts to learn how to be more effective with your weapon system. He doesn't just teach you, he shows you...and it's impressive watching him run these drills...the guy can shoot! Bottom line: if you're looking for training in the South Carolina area, go to the Sawmill. They have something for everyone and you'll leave feeling humbled and hungry to be at the level of the people you'll meet there so you can be better the next time you'll go...because you WILL want to come back!

Attended a training session at the sawmill led by Dutch Moyer. I can't begin to explain how awesome the experience was. Dutch was a first class instructor and tailored the class to our level of experience. The Sawmill was a fantastic facility with multiple ranges providing different and unique shooting options. If you're looking for an awesome shooting range, this is the place, if you are considering taking a class, do it!

The Sawmill Training complex is amazing. Invest in spending some time training there and you will have the opportunity to train in scenarios and with equipment you can not access anywhere else. If you put in the time and give your best effort, the improvement in your abilities will will speak for themselves.

The Sawmill and their staff offer excellent training opportunities. Chris Moyer and John Kette hosted a great pistol course that added new skills to the tool belt while also providing a challenge and keeping it fun with various drills and competitions of increasing difficulty. After taking their course, I feel more confident in my ability to go to work and make it home to my family each night. IΓÇÖm looking forward to more training in the future
